"[Is it] possible for us to get some of that ’leak-focused’ gravy train ? This is an obvious fear sale, so that’s a good thing. And we have something to offer that the IT security companies don’t, mainly our focus on counter-intelligence and surveillance that Fred and Stick know better than anyone on the planet... Could we develop some ideas and procedures on the idea of ´leak-focused’ network security that focuses on preventing one’s own employees from leaking sensitive information... In fact, I’m not so sure this is an IT problem that requires an IT solution."

I don't know about the rest of you, but this sounds like StratFor is talking about leaking their intelligence, purposefully.

When I read this, I read the intent to create a "leak-focused" network, as the intention of creating security in the wake of leaking information. Security through obscurity ... sometimes, the best way to hide yourself or information, is in the public.

It makes for very educational reading...since no single person goes and gets all those little nuggets to form up the big pictures.

Most of us knew about the Big Picture, more or less ... some of us had the "bird-eye view" of things. While others were cought in the little details.

For some of us, much of this is "I told you so".

I was saying that in an earlier post, as well. Or, perhaps to keep them from digging too far, leaving a planted file that was somewhat easy to access while the real goodness is encrypted and well protected.

Seriously, what security agency would leave totally unencrypted, available emails just sitting about when they have already been hit? One expecting to get hit again?

It smells like a set up, and spidey senses are telling me this was left like a carrot on a stick. To catch people? Most certainly. To obfuscate? Definitely. To make Assange a laughing stock, oh the potential.

If ever I saw a disinfo campaign being played out in real time, this whole thing is looking more and more like one!

For all you Glenn Beck haters out there, one thing he said has always been true: "When they are telling you "Look over here at this hand!" best look to see what the other hand is doing!"

There is someone in the woodpile, watching all of this play out, and there is a reason, I promise you that.

Are some of these bankers that are about to be "exposed" the ones that have or are about to resign? Watch for it.

Like I cautioned before, beware, lest you be caught, hook, line, and sinker. For all the suspicious people this site is notorious for, seems many are falling right into the river for this one.

In fairness, that's not a Glenn Beck thing, that's something people have been saying for hundreds of years.

The other truism though, that applies here, is something attributed to Freud, "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar".

Perhaps I could say he repopularized the saying, then.

And perhaps you are right, but in consideration of the email with the news article in it about the money laundering. Really? Old story, rehashed in an email, looks like it was done for public consumption.

Just trying to stand back and look at it from all directions, because things are not always as they seem. Along with the dry humor of the glossary, it looks all too contrived.

Just an opinion. And I guess you know that saying, as well!

Now, instead of focusing on "past events", like Mr. Bildt ... let's focus on the future, and try and discover WHY

Actually... the view of the past makes me very much focus on the present and future, and it makes me think, that NONE of the governments currently operating in the western world, NONE of the money making companies or banks, should be allowed to continue. Let me hint.... the best part of "Fight Club" was the ending, which figuratively always was portrayed as the beginning.

We have been too comfortable for too long and I seriously doubt that with Anon now declaring open war against the American government that they are shills. My only wish is that someone bold enough in the collective will issue the same statement against every single government in the EU and EU itself.

So yes... we are focusing on the present by learning from the past. At last.... we are. And we will take it no more.

Consider it free advertising. Now that the world knows more about the organization, it's likely to receive more informants via it's "leak-based" system. Throw in the idea that this also doubled as a security test and you have a nice little package where others are doing all of your hard work for you under a guise.

there is a lot of interesting stuff on the site. its hard to know if we should start putting up material here. dunno if ats will just shut thread?

the bigger picture is fascinating,

like this piece ;

Despite the reports in the media and against any public
knowledge, the promoter of a massive Israeli attack on Syria is
the axis India-Russia-Turkey-Saudi Arabia. The axis
US-Germany-France-China is against such an attack from obvious
reasons. Not many people know that Russia is one of Israel's
largest military partners and India is Israel's largest client.

If a direct conflict between Iran and Israel erupts, Russia and
Saudi Arabia will gain the advantages on oil increasing prices.
On the other hand, China and Europe are expected to loose from
an oil crisis as a result of a conflict. Based on Israeli plans,
the attack on Iran will last only 48 hours but will be so
destructive that Iran will be unable to retaliate or recover and
the government will fall. It is hard to believe that Hamas or
Hezbollah will try to get involved in this conflict.

Source was asked what he thought of reports that the Israelis
were preparing a military offensive against Iran. Response:

I think this is a diversion. The Israelis already destroyed
all the Iranian nuclear infrastructure on the ground weeks
ago. The current "let's bomb Iran" campaign was ordered by the
EU leaders to divert the public attention from their at home
financial problems. It plays also well for the US since
Pakistan, Russia and N. Korea are mentioned in the report.

The result of this campaign will be massive attacks on Gaza
and strikes on Hezbollah in both Lebanon and Syria.

wow why don't you go to the wiki site yourself and read for yourself rather rehash what the mass media is saying....did you not see it...5,000,000 emails...from 2002-2011.....it is not old news...and if it is old it is a new twist on it because we can now get a better look into it and see if it confirms or denys what may have been presented by the mass media in the past.....why not stop bashing and just get to some reading....but as i said....don't put in conjecture....check the sources and the names of the people whom are sending and recieving it to get a better understanding of the context and content of said email......then maybe put it on here for others to decipher.....also....i like the fact that someone is looking into the possible coded messages and the influence that may have on these emails....and yes....lots of them are just everyday rubbish....and yes it does feel a bit dirty....but in the end...these are things that should be somewhat public as it does concern the general population and all the lies that keep getting pushed at the people......so keep on digging and look for those gems.....interesting reading.

but do we know whom he is replying to....Alpha

kinda criptic......and also again it is a general converstaion being taken out of context IMO

but we also know that they are talking to a news source from the jerusalem post....one Abe Selig

now you see my point of the importance of actually finding the sources and learning the basis of the emails rather than just posting explosive topics...it seems to me to just be another discussion amongst people of possibilities and questioning of circumstances in any given region.

a sample of what Abe Selig is writing about at any given time.....

source

changes the context of the email exchange to a simple conversation of what is going on in certain regions.

We have also been asked to help the United States Marine Corps and other
government intelligence organizations to teach them how Stratfor does what
it does, and train them in becoming government Stratfors. We are beginning
this project by preparing a three-year forecast for the Commandant of the
Corps. This is a double honor for us. First, the professional
intelligence community is acknowledging us as being the gold standard of
intelligence. Second, we are being asked to use our honest and unhedged
views to support what is for Stratfor-an American company-its homeland.

it would seem that people are taking things out of the context of the conversations in the emails without looking at the whole picture....from what i am reading most of it is just people asking a lot of questions and drawing conclusions as the the signifigance of any arising senario....but as for hard core actual facts...i am not personally seeing anything to damning....it is a lot of discussion just like the kinds of discussions we have on here in an open forum on ATS only this is behind closed doors....but there is a lot to dig through and it is interesting to say the least......

but when you start to look at who is talking and what they are talking about it starts to become a little more clear...i a stated in the post above....a conversation between a journalist from the jerusalem post and a unnamed source Alpha and the kamran Bokori that i posted his bio on.....but when just a section of words are taken out ....and not the whole convo are posted it paints a completely different picture.....good thing people on here don't work for the MSM....or all things would be sensationalised.
