I don't think anyone literally touched the plane as it was coming in but it sure was close enough from the reports of accounts I found here....

''Out of my peripheral vision, I saw this plane coming in and it was low - and getting lower. ''If you couldn't touch it from standing on the highway, you could by standing on your car.'' ''I thought, 'This isn't really happening. That is a big plane.' Then I saw the faces of some of the passengers on board,'' Cissell said. ''I remember thinking, 'The World Trade Center was just the beginning, there's going to be more.' '' He remembers the helipad the plane flew over before smacking into the Pentagon was close enough to him that ''I could have thrown a baseball at it and hit it.''

Maybe the guard was thinking of this story and decided to embellish it, give it more credence. Although I think the embellishment actually detracted from the believability of the statement.

I can't imagine what it would have been like to see the people's faces. That would haunt me.

so you are saying a military office in charge of school trips to the pentagon memorial doesnt have his facts right? you surprise me dave, I never thought you would be so skeptical of the "official story" maybe you should work that pentagon gig, tell everyone about the dangers of "damn fool truther conspiracy websites"

OR, it's only entirely in the mind of you conspiracy theorists that everyone outside your camp is getting together to rehearse with each other what the supposed "official story" is to trick you. In the real world, military officers in charge of school trips aren't specimens bred in a secret gov't lab or given experimental chemicals to make them superhuman. They're simply human beings like you and me and they're just as capable of making the exact same human mistakes that you and I do. Yes, that includes burning their toast in the morning, yes that includes spending too much when they buy a car, and yes, it includes the natural tendency to unintentionally change the details of a story they've heard with each telling. Nowhere in any of this was it suggested that anyone was trying to introduce this claim as being part of "the official story" and it's entirely in your own paranoia that you think they were.

I expected better from you than this. Not every flipping thing in the world has to be part of some insidious secret gov't plot to murder us all, you know.

I wonder which 'plane they talked about, was it the one that came over the helipad, or the one that came over the Navy annex?

I "was" not having such a good day until I read this.

It helped perk up my spirits so much, I read it again.

Now I am set for anything else which may come by.

I really do enjoy a good laugh.

What a laughable story.

'Hey man look at this plane heading in our direction. I bet if I reach out of the sunroof I can touch it.'

'Yeah, do it, it's not like your entire body would be utterly destroyed by the shear heat of the engines as they fly over us, and clearly your hand would not be damaged by a megaton steel object, going 500 MPH, hitting it.'

'Alright here it comes........'

Just in case my op wasn't clear....

I do not believe someone tried to touch the plane with their hand. It would be an impossibility.

I don't know why the guard gave us this story. Most likely he simply embellished the quote about seeing the plane. However, I don't think the guard told us this story to try and trick us. He seemed quite sincere and very, very young.

This story really doesn't have any impact on the validity of the official story. I just wanted to share something I found rather baffling.

I did realize how you were telling the guards story, and thought it was a funny one.

Just thought I would pass along something one of the "witnesses" said during an early interview.

I can't say it as a true quote, but he spoke of how the traffic was flowing normally that morning and how he was making good time getting to work. So much for some woman reaching up through her sun roof.

That was the first thing which "jumped" out at me when the guard told his story.

Then we discussed why the guard might have told us that story. I kept it out of the realm of conspiracy theories, but frankly if we can get our children to question what they are told and learn to look for the answers themselves, then we have the seeds for revolution,.

Yeah, that story sounds like yet another "something that someone heard that someone else heard" that changed a simple story into something outlandish after so many iterations. It's almost certainly based upon a real eyewitness account (the mention of the sunroof makes it sound vaguely like Penny Elgas' eyewitness testimony) but by the time it got to yoru chaperone it became a whole different story.

You got it right GoodOlDave, it's probably a bastardized version of Penny Elgas. She did actually touch piece of the plane: a piece that fell off. She later donated it to a museum.

If the guard really said Penny touched the plane in the air, he's an idiot. But how can we be sure the guard's story wasn't distorted?

The kids did not want to hear your theories; the soldier did not want to hear them either; he wanted to do his already simple job in front of some kids who may want to join the marines one day. Be-littling him is not going to prove a point. Obviously, it was a joke to lighten the somber mood and not to be taken seriously. Him shrugging and blowing you off makes me think that he was pretty ticked at you.

Oh, and any world power is going to want as much information as they can legally obtain on you before they let you freely walk around their military base. Any other country would only allow military or government officials. Not sure how that is confusing to you.

I'm not trying to sound rude. I respect your opinions. I'm merely asking that you show some respect for the dead.

Star and Flag to ya. Nice post!

The O.S. is wrong, period. There are too many inconsistant explanations for it to be the truth. In addition to the FACT that some of the commission panel members have come out and said they were either stonewalled, lied to and or both. Its a sham. Its got people divided is about all. Fact remains, the official lie is lame and I hope I'm still living when the truth finally comes out so I can hopefully see some of the players' butts in jail!

Rather than speculate wether or not touching the bottom of a plane in flight is possible, I thought I would bring something that gives a better feel for the dynamics involved.

Forward to :25 seconds in here:

If I were the tour guide there, I could explain the Pentagon attack in much more detail then they could, and so could several others on this forum....

If they have a memorial, it's quite sad it hasn't been enriched with a meticulously precise reconstruction of the event, however morbid that may be.

It is probably good thing that I'm not employed to be the tour guide.

I'd be too tempted to answer with something along the lines of...

"I can't say anything or the reptilians will hurt me."

Keeping a straight face would be the hardest

That vid proves nothing. A plane going 500mph would damage it's landing gear if it was down.

Maximum Gear Operating/Extended 270 kts / .82 mach

biggles-software.com...

it would not have been moving faster than 310mph, I would guess it was doing around 250mph.
