How is this insanity? Shooting your daughters laptop and putting the video up on youtube is insanity. Then to have the guy publicly say " I don't want publicity I just wanted to prove a point" but he uploads it to youtube? Where is the line between stupidity and insanity?

There is obviously something wrong with this guy. Why not just take the laptop away? Why not just shoot it full of ammo and give it back? Why would you upload it to youtube and then not want attention?

It's good this guy got investigated. Something is off here.

if you had watched the video yourself you would KNOW why he had to upload it, it was all due to the things she had been saying to her friends on her facebook, he says that in the video, he also said in the video that he was uploading it for her friends to see,

god if your not even aware of this # then you didnt watch the video why the hell are you posting on the topic when you have no idea what it all was about

He destroyed his kid's laptop with a .45 and posted it on youtube.

CPS was right to intervene. Who's to say that he wouldn't pull that .45 on his own kid?

Stop acting like everything is an invasion of your privacy. Since when do people have the right to beat/endanger their kids in private?

It doesn't matter what his intent was.

The whole thing was unnecessary.

He didn't make the video with the intention of it going viral. He was also keeping a promise he made to his daughter, and I thought he had shown great restraint and calmness throughout. Looks like discipline without violence to me. Why hate?

Was his child beat or endangered?

Law came out and took a peek, congratulated him,and left.

If I was him,I would offer to shoot other children's laptops..........and teach some more hard lessons.

You're wrong, even the CPS and cops agree.
You are wrong, he was right.
He didn't beat or shoot anyone. Don't make stuff up.

If i wish to plug my own pc with a 45 round, who are you to stop me? And are you really stupid enough to equate a bullet in a laptop with a bullet in his own kid?

I'm not American so i'm not a 100% on the gun laws but I don't remember anyone saying it was illegal to shoot an inanimate object when not endangering others?

Hes a Great man,for showing the world,he has convictions, and morals.

Hitler had convictions and morals too. So does the state. Convictions and morals are the cause of much woe.

Fair play to him.
I don't think this warrants a call from CPS at all.
His daughter disrespected him on Facebook I believe? On her laptop that her father gave to her?
Shoot away! It's better than kicking her ass or waving the gun in her face, and it'll make her think twice before she posts crap online about her family members. Hopefully he won't give her another one, and make her earn it instead.

Thanks, but I am merely saying it is not a trait to admire in itself.

Oh, and Godwin's law must be upheld (which is one of my convictions).

I really dont see where your coming from would you care to elaborate. He seemed level headed through out the video. In most places now days you can not physically punish your children or they end up in foster care which is partly why the kids today are the way they are. He didnt hurt the girl he just wasnt going to let her get away with talking like that about every one around her. His laptop his rules and now she has to buy her own. Where I im out all the time shooting a shotgun at old scrap stuff like buckets and vacuums and anything else thats broke down with my little sister whos only 13 cops drive by and dont say anything. As for uploading it he wanted her friends to see what it is like to be a little smart ass if your parents find out.

This whole stupid situation serves to illustrate what a perfect waste Facebook is.

Ranting teen, father seeking retribution for "disrespect" (what is he, some urban gangster?) and a police investigation at the taxpayers expense.

Everything about this is so incredibly stupid.

How is shooting the laptop a logical answer to the problem?

It's not, its an emotional response. If someone with firearms is showing this sort of emotional response to some trivial issue like this it warrents a little investigation.

They came in, made sure stuff was in order and left.

If you don't want the state to come into your house, don't put a big red flag on your head that screams "pick me!"

Also don't upload video's where you are obviously irrational with firearms.

Take my advice or don't. I couldn't care less.

What a man does with a legally owned and licensed gun is HIS business. Period.

He could have taken a sledge hammer to the laptop.

He could have just jumped up and down on it.

He is perfectly in his right to use his .45 pistol. Just because you are anti-gun, doesn't mean that others who believe in the 2nd amendment should suffer. Or are you not from the USA to begin with? Are you even a parent?

Then, all of the weenies, crying "ABUSE! ABUSE! ABUSE!" were shut down by a law abiding citizen. I love it!

I would rather be judged by 12 instead of carried by 6. From my cold, dead hands....

Just because I have a car, doesn't mean I am going to run someone over.

Since you do not appreciate your privacy, perhaps you should consider relocating, to say, Russia? China?

Seems to me that some people just hate guns. They hate them so bad and fear people with them, so that anyone seen with a gun, even in a video, is suspect.

CPS didn't have any reason to think that his ammo wasn't stored correctly and they invaded his privacy to check.

We ARE in an era of thought crime and pre-crime here.

CPS is dangerous to Americans and most don't even see it. THey are a way of using your children to get into your house without a warrant or without you really being suspected of crime. They are a way of bypassing your constitutional right to know your accuser. THEY are the jackboots in skirts and heels.

You sound like a petulant child there.

YOU ARE WRONG! YOU ARE WRONG! NYAHHH!!!

Calm down.

The guy overreacted. I see him as just another stupid nutter with a gun. The real reason why gun laws exist!
