A: What's wrong with that? They are a rogue state, in perpetual violation of International Law whose religion preaches that they are the "chosen ones" to dominate the entire planet. They sound pretty damn scary to me.

A: Impossible. There is only a single, solitary Latin American country which is communist...Cuba. However, there ARE plenty of Latin American countries who participate in Market Socialism like our Nato allies in Scandinavia and elect their leaders in democratically-run elections...just like the U.S. used to do in the 1950's.

A: Incorrect. RELIGIOUS LUNACY creates suicide bombers. To date the only government to achieve this upon a large scale has been WWII Japan and their Kamikaze bombers. Many of the Iranian people must endure their religious lunatics in much the same way that The West is forced to endure theirs. Dispense with the whacky superstitions on a global level and there isn't really a problem.

A: Perhaps they wouldn't feel compelled to do so if we weren't threatening them all the time. Besides...did you see that "drone missile" that they created a couple of years ago? It looked like it was made out parts found in a junkyard.

Q: Iran sends Obama model toy drone.
A: More reasonable than the full-scale invasion and slaughter of hundreds of thousands of civilians which the US would no doubt be all too eager to get underway should it have been an Iranian drone over US airspace.

Q: Iran will not stop nuclear program
A: Why are we concerned about this? So does Pakistan, Israel, Britain, the U.S., Russia, China, N. Korea, and India (just off the top of my head). Again...irrespective of having the ability to produce weapons-grade uranium...they can pick up one of the thousands of unaccounted for nukes from Russia anytime they want. It's like making people register their firearms...but not caring who owns cruise missiles.

Q: US is ready with lethal weapons if Iran attacks (YES ATS this is a good thing! Do you not want to be protected?)

but their government is on its way out....the people will eventually overthrow them....they almost did last time. The people want a democratic system of government. I say let them win. Give them time, things will take the course they must, why get our collective panties in a bunch. Who cares. Leave them alone and like before, the radical Iranian youth will overcome. They are an intelligent and motivated people when it comes to justice and rule of law. Singling out a Looney here or a Looney there doesn't represent the whole of that nation. They generally are willing and able to effect positive change. Hell. they had more strength than the CIA and eventually ousted that government. what's the diff.....

Yes...because we have done so well in "winning" wars recently. Vietnam. Iraq Pt. 1, Afghanistan, Iraq Pt. 2, the "war" on drugs, the "war" on illiteracy, the "war" on terror, the "war" on Christmas.

Actually the U.S. has a lot of suicide operatives, and did a lot of suicide missions through it's history. They are just not labelled as morons, nor extremists, and they don't scream before exploding.

Go to the CIA headquarters and you will see a huge wall, filled with tiny stars. They have no name, nor face, nor medals attached to them.

Those are the people who sacrificed their life and their identity for their country.

You call them heroes (me too, by the way). "They" call them suicide operatives.

Exactly. The most dangerous thing in the world is a person, country, or religious group who feels they "have nothing to lose". Mutually Assured Destruction only worked because the Russians had the resources they needed and were a vast enough of a country.

I don't love Iran, nor do I love the U.N. either or the United states for that matter. I just look at it this way and I see America's point. Iran is ran by a theocratic radical party of islam, they're hellbent on starting the 12th Imam and dominating the world through Shariah Law and islam. If they get a nuke, in my mind it's no question to think of what they'll do with it. Just look at Nazi germany, that's what happens when you wait and don't act soon enough.

To me, it seems that this poorly put together administration has done everything in it's power to not go to war with Iran and Iran is not showing any signs of stopping their threats against the west. So why do people on ATS which the government (for now) allows to operate, love Iran so much?

Again, we have pretty much bowed to everything so we are not in WWIII already. Trust me, if a republican like Reagan or Bush was in office we'd be in war right now. I don't understand why you people are complaining about the US sanctions, and we should just leave Iran alone, when they are the ones threatening us!
