India today assured Israel of a complete investigation into the car blast incident here in which an Israeli diplomat was injured, saying it strongly condemns any incidents of violence.

Hours within the blast occurred in an Israeli embassy car, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna spoke to his Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman, assuring him that the law of the land will take its course.

“I just came to know about the unfortunate incident a little while earlier in which a staff member’s family woman of the Israeli embassy establishment was injured. She has been rushed into the hospital. We are awaiting further information about the well being of the woman,” Krishna told reporters on the sidelines of a function.

They either already know something, or they are being honest and want to find out the truth.

No. Magnetic bombs have been in use since WW2, when they were strapped into ships hulls and blown up from a distance.

They have been widely used in Iraq and Afghanistan too, although those didn't use magnetic materials, they were more often "sticky" bombs than anything else.

But the thing is... Two targets from very different countries (enemies, actually), with very little in common, were attacked in the same manner.

One killed 2 and blasted the whole car. The other made people go to the hospital to remove splinters.

As far as I want to keep neutral and logical, this doesn't smell right.

I've received some training for the purpose of securing Entry Control Points. One of the things we are told to be careful of is, when searching vehicles, to avoid searching with direct lighting sources, as there have been several instances of photo-triggered bombs. IE - you shine your flash-light on it, and that is what trips the detonator, and you go boom before you even have time to process the image.

They use cell phones and a host of other electronics as detonators (even have some set to delay their response after picking up the band-jamming EOD uses).

Kind of ironic... on one hand, you argue that people underestimate Iran... then on the other, use the fact that magnets were used in a bomb as a reason to exclude them (because everyone knows that Iranians are too retarded to figure out how to use magnets - they'd end up stuck to the damned bomb).

Of course... you also overlook the possibility that Iran -wants- you to think Israel is false-flagging all over the place, in an attempt to get you to rabidly attack Israel for even existing, getting you to salivate at the prospect of screaming Jews.

... But, we all know they don't want that. It's not like they chant death to Israel on the floor of their parliament.

You aren't alone in your doubts... Let us paint a picture of the situation:

Iran is moving forward with a peaceful nuclear energy program, as they are legally entitled to do being part of the NPT and following international law. The US and Israel are convinced they are trying to make nuclear weapons. The IAEA inspected, and found no indication of any material being diverted to a weapons program. They DID state that there is nothing stopping Iran from continuing a weapons program if they so choose, but no evidence suggests they are.

Iran is completely circled with US military bases, go google it if you aren't aware of this. The US and Israel have made no bones about their threats against Iran, literally just aching for a reason. They have moved warships into the area and their reaction would be swift and devastating.

With this in mind, I'm supposed to believe Iran decided to start bombing Israeli diplomats? Iran is anything but stupid, this is the worst possible chess move imaginable....

Unless....

It's all a smokescreen because they KNOW there is no support for an attack on Iran, and Iran, while refusing to buckle completely, is by no means going to give them a reason to attack.
