Would i be right in saying that a part of the moon is never visible from Earth?

Also have i heard speculation somewhere that there may be some sort of outpost for Extra Terrestrial Life on this part of the moon?

Well, yes, one side always faces away from us. It is, however, well mapped and photographed. A little googling will give you some lovely pictures and all the named craters.

Google for 'far side of the moon'... googling for 'dark side of the moon' tends to get you lots of Pink Floyd stuff.

There are many stories about the "dark side" of the moon - even what's inside it...and yes, there are even "doctored" images from NASA of the moon hiding "whatever"...

An interesting book to read is "Alterntive 3" - it talks about the dark side of the moon, disappearing scientists, the US, the Russians and lots of other "stuff".

In a number of countries the book is banned, however here is a good link for you so you can read it:

Some say the book is fiction but many parts of the book can be backed up by proof.

Here is some links re what the apollo mission saw:

Thanks for the enlightenment.
Iv always thought the moon would make a perfect platform for us to explore deeper into space, or a perfect outpost for an alien invasion!

I don't mean to follow your posts but:-

It rotates at the exact speed required to keep the one side always facing us.

If it didn't rotate, we'd see every side of it throughout the year.

Actually, it does. But it rotates only once for every revolution around the Earth.

And maybe their parachutes work.

Well, they where the first to take pictures of the far side of the Moon.

The far side of the Moon may not be a good place for a base because it is much more exposed to meteors than "our" side, and that is visible in the photos of the far side, with many small craters.

why doesnt ATS send up an ATS satalite?
we could do a lot of reseach and verify the alien inhabitors on the moon. i have a camera and some duck tape, all i need now is a rocket and a harddrive we got ourselves a satalite!

LOL! I'll tell you what, If ATS ever gets a satellite going, I'll throw in a nice Maxtor 80gig HD for all them purty pictures we'll take.

Maybe I can get someone to donate a buttload of C02 cartridges. LOL

See if we can send a junkheap to the moon with that.

Attention citizens of Earth: We need all the astronauts we can get! We are doing a full sweep of the moon. Sign up at your local NASA launch pad.
You will need the following for your moon exploration: Flashlights

I think this is an excellent idea!
Obviously there would be an issue with paying for it, but if any ATS members have a spare, oooh maybe 10,000,000 on their credit card or something please let us know.

(I also think we should gather about 10,000 people and walk into to Area51 & S4, with video camera's rolling)

ha ha ha, what a joke, in the matter of fact, russians where first on the moon anyway, so .. in that time, their technology was better.

What an awesome idea! Never thought of that. Can you imagine? All the ATS users plus as many other conspiracy theorists we can find.
We'll contact the media to follow us so if we all mysteriously go "missing" afterwards the world will know why!
muahahahaha! they'll be powerless to stop us!
