I've been reading this site for a long time and rarely post, but this time I felt compelled to do so. I really despise reading through nearly 15 pages of a thread with absolutely no further evidence or more stories of the OP. Sir, please get to something more interesting than simply small talk, there are other forums for that.

90 isn't old at all these days. My grandmother is one of the oldest USA citizens at a whopping 110!~! Think about it- what these folks got to witness....the advent of flight, among other wonderful inventions that make up our "normal" lives these days.

Amazing what a 90 year old can tell you. I used to listen to my grandmother tell me stories all the time of the things she had seen and done.

Hi jb,

Please read the relevant posts regarding the Shriner involvement. He was only involved by association, helping with the Shriner's Children Hospital, parades, et al. He was talked into helping not joining. He was never a Mason and therefore never a Shriner.

Go and read some of his posts on other threads.
He seems pretty innocuous and not bragging about or pointing back to this thread.
I think he is legit.
Just came on a little bit strong on his intro thread.
Who knows?
We shall see, right?

Those women must have not been southern women then. Here I am pretty sure it is against the law for a woman to leave the house without her lipstick on. If she does she is thrown out of the Junior League and she has to turn in her pearls.

Welcome to ATS! This is one of the best introductions I've seen. It's pretty cool that you were behind the scenes when a lot of the new tech we enjoy today was still classified.

As said above he needs time to post proof and I look forward to this.

Please do not be irate with him as he may be legit, do you really want to scare off someone with such credentials just because he isn't familiar with posting pictures or videos on the web?

If a month from now I have not seen anymore credibility I understand why you guys may be skeptic but he just joined a few days ago and needs time to assimilate.

why dont everyone get off his back and find some other forum to put your insight on instead of repeating what other members have said. this is just an introductory post meaning he was introducing him self to all the members and he will tell people what he wants when he wants you people just bashing him isnt going to speed things up just delay it most likly or he wont share at all. and if you dont think he says who he says he is then whatever what are you going to do bash on him some more because you have nothing better to? what if he is who he says he is then how would you feel? making fun of a veteran, someone who survived through some of the roughest times, and some one who might have interesting facts and other fun stories he can share.

Whenever your posting anything on the internet this is what you are subject to. If you wish not to deal with it, then don't deal with the internet. That simple. You don't really think your post is going to change what people are going to do??

I have to be honest. I am not feeling it at all. The lack of wisdom of the ages seems to indicate that something is off. I may be only 43 but would hope to have had some kind of engaging conversation by now. He seems to be deflecting and trying to defend and defend... instead of just being mature and presenting his story. He is anonymous, why spend so much time just defending. His lack of depth and insight is incredibly troubling.

Just like ATS has been scammed all too many times, I feel this is just another one to reel in the foolish and gullable.

I'm not asking people to believe him just to not get irate and give him time, I would have left long ago if I was him taking my truth with me to the grave.

This was back in the late 1890's and no, the Midwest.

I wouldn't be caught dead without full make up on and my wig..............yes I wear a wig so my hair looks perfectly well groomed at all times (in public).

Grandma X also said, "nice girls back in her day did not wear their hair down once they hit a certain age and were married.

I am disgusted by some of the replies in this thread, the Gentleman might be legit, he may be pulling a fast one.

We should give him an opportunity to engage us in discussion when he creates a thread.

I'm normally skeptical about certain introduction threads, but this one seems to have a sense of honesty.

I think some people are forgetting this is an introduction thread and they are expecting more, to them I say shut the hell up, grow up, and wait and see what other threads Mr Alonzo brings us.

Welcome to ATS Sir, you will find a lot more open minded people than there are idiots and trolls, and I hope what little time you have left is enjoyable and as exciting as the rest of your life seems to have been.

He has been a member for ONE day yet reading through the whole thread I feel like people have spent months demanding proof because they are so impatient.

No its just reality. I dont condone it, I believe we all deserve the benefit of the doubt. But that being said, this is online, anyone can post anything, and thats not really something we can control. Nice that you try though, for his sake, if he is legit. I don't question his honesty because there been nothing done to make me feel that way.
