Again as i posted im not claiming it to be anything. As i said it very well could be a star. Its def not a planet though its not bright its doesnt illuminate the sky... it just seems to be rapidly flashing more than a normal star. Believe me im not excited, i was simply posting to see if anyone else has noticed in RI or could shed light... no pun intended. . Maybe I should have been more cautious of the title i chose. I live in on the woonsocket north smithfield line. Again.. it not huge, its not bright, its the way it "twinkles" i guess. Im guessing its more of a star, as i mentioned before most likely just comprimised by particles in the atmosphere. Yesterday though it seemed to be furhter away so.... but thanks for the replies.. im sure it can be explained.

I live in Massachusetts and for the past 2 or 3 nights there has been this bright rectangular light to the right of the moon, I noticed it and thought it was very strange but not strange enough to make a post about it. Also, I haven't seen it flicker it's just completely rectangular and directly to the right of the moon and it's creepily odd. I tried to capture it on my iPhone Tuesday night but it didn't pick it up & I don't have another camera. Can't believe I ran into this post, I knew that I couldn't be the only one in New England who was seeing this weird light to the right of the moon. If I would've seen it flicker that would have really bugged me out. I'm going to check for it tonight as the moon is always right outside of my apartment.

Rectangle? Wow, now that's interesting! One of these nights I'll get together with the OP and sit and see what we can find. All I ever see are stars. I'll take a peek out my window tonight.
