I almost want to blame this on religious moral issues.

When on this earth did seeing a human body part that we all have and have all seen many times, become disgusting and offensive to someone is beyond me. Its nature, get over it or dont look.

Perhaps everyone conveniently forgot Baby Jesus would have hung off his ma's boobies too...

Never saw that bit in the bible where the three wise men got shoo'd out of the stable by Joseph though.

"Thanks for the gold, frankincense and myrrh and all that, but sod off now, you aren't looking at Mary's nork's!!!"

Sorry I do not believe in the Jesus story but if I did... that was how long ago? EVOLVE....

Evolve you say?
Funny how society has radically gone down the pan in relation to governments pushing powdered crap into children's mouths.
My children will carry on evolving all right...Don't you worry your pretty little head about it.

I agree with you. It is not evolving to take what the baby needs( colostrum has special qualities for a lifetime of immunity) and say we must use man-made formulas to make everyone nice and comfy. And you know these formulas are under lock and key now at grocery stores. I noticed it at Publix one day when a mother asked me about them because she was foreign and didn't know what the signs said.

Yes, I have this to add, in case you missed it from my previous comment:

Public breastfeeding is as natural as me eating a sanwich for lunch on a park bench.

No one wants to see these women breastfeeding their child. They need to go to a private place to do that stuff.

ha ha ha you're such a prude ....

I'm a pig, and I for one would love to see more bare breasted women ...

Hey at least I'm honest and in touch with myself.

Edit: they show bare naked breast of women on TV commercials in Europe - a least that's what I've heard. Oh and don't forget nude beaches. What's wrong with nudity again?

Once again PIG... I never said anything was wrong with being nude... WHAT I SAID WAS I DO NOT LIKE SEEING BREASTFEEDING IN PUBLIC... I'm a man and I respect women. Call me old fashion or you can just call me very sexually active because I know how to treat women... W/E the point is I only associate myself with people who have respect for themselves. If you don't fine. I could care less. You are not in my life... nor would I want you to be.

Girls are stupid. They are cliche. All of them. They want a good looking guy to walk into there life and give them their movie moment that they fantasize about. Watch the crap they watch. Its not hard to give them what thet want. And to take what you want. A motorbike a copy of a kafka book and a nice smile is all you need. If they want Mark Ruffalo give them Mark Ruffalo. Its easy.

I think this makes this thread make more sense, seeing as how this is how he views women.

Stressing again, he gave me permission to quote this.

His response:

People should go to a private place and do it??? Are you serious.

Breastfeeding in public is not one of selfish display, but one of common sense as a mother cannot stay holed up at home for the entire 6 months or so of the activity.

Pump it!

Bottle It!

I agree, there's no need to breastfeed your child in public. It's nasty. Mothers who want to display a saggy ol' boob feeding a baby on Facebook are definitely just looking for attention.

To those saying it's beautiful and natural: It may be natural , but it's not beautiful. If you want beautiful and natural convert to paganism and move out into the woods. There you can live with your fellow animals in bliss, and no one will disturb your viewing of a lactating breast. /gag

edit on 3-2-2012 by L00kingGlass because: (no reason given)

Breastfeeding is not Pagan, contrary to your lack of knowledge on the subject. Incidentally, you and your fellow Darwinians are responsible for the "we are all just animals" philosophy of life.

As I have said, one can cover the breast with a cloth and it doesn't expose too much, and women usually just cover up the whole baby and breast anyway. You may have even encountered a women with a cloth over her shoulder and just thought baby was sleeping...

The only reason it is "unnatural" and "disgusting" is because the culture shift between 1900 and 1960 made it so.

Facebook has every right to censor nudity per their terms of service - in the case of women who are displaying nudity. (i.e. a woman who has just had a water birth breastfeeding her newborn will be nude, while a woman who has given birth wearing a hospital gown will not be nude, only exposed part will be breast used by child.)

But, a child at the breast is not nudity. Seriously, I see women all the time in public with shirts so low that I'm convinced they must be using double stick tape to keep their nipples from showing. If that is not considered nudity, then typical breastfeeding should not be considered nudity.

The fact of the matter is, most breastfeeding women prefer to cover up while feeding. Generally because of judging people who stare and frown and come up to talk crap about it.

A titty isn't even really a sexual organ, it's entire purpose is nurturing of the child; any sexual connotation is simply the implied idea that it shows that the mother is able to nurture.

This has nothing to do with people dying around the world so don't even try to relate the too together

But I dont hate women because I think they are stupid. And I said more than that. The clever girls are the dumbest. By far.

I only hate the feminazi

Nah, I'm not much for feeding trolls, so I think I'll leave it at that.

If you can't properly decipher a simple sentence or two, how the hell would I be able to help you now?

Cocky and clueless isn't a very appealing trait, you might want to work on that.

I'm done with this thread, goad someone else into your pointless rants.

This coming from someone who can't respond... Nice... Later... Since when is voicing my TRUE view trolling? Try looking up what a troll/rant is... Read and educate yourself on what grammar is as well before you try to call me out...

I'm sure what I'm going to say has already been said, but I'm going to say it anyway.

It has always been way beyond me why people get so offended by breast feeding mothers. Breasts were made to feed babies. It was people and Hollywood that sexualized breasts to the point that so many people find it offensive now. I think every mother should have the right to breastfeed in public. I have done it and if I ever have another baby, I'll do it again. I always covered up, just to be discreet but I don't see anything at all wrong when a mother doesn't.

What people really should be offended by is when babies are forced to eat in a filthy, public bathroom stall because their mothers are too scared of offending the immature public. People who are offended by mothers feeding their babies just need to grow up! Seriously, what are you people, 12?

I've been a part of this debate for years so I know what kinds of excuses non-breastfeeders or people who don't support them, throw out. #1 is ALWAYS that breast pumps are available so breast feeding mamas should just pump and bottle feed but what most people are too ignorant to realize is that switching between breast and bottle sometimes causes nipple confusion and then the baby ends up having trouble eating, period! Then there are babies who just wont take a bottle.

People who don't want to see breastfeeding moms need to just look the other way.

Personally, I wouldn't post pics of myself breastfeeding, but for those who are comfortable with it, facebook should leave them alone. They're feeding babies, not having sex! It's a crying shame that mothers are looked down on the way they are for feeding their babies the very best way possible!

Well as you're all so anti-breastfeeding, why not just remove the pregnant women who breastfeeds from your friends list?

One person up there ^^ said he wouldn't associate with such a person, follow his lead... he "respects" women apparently.

Seriously... why would you click on the picture??

If it's on your newsfeed it would probably say "LIttle Carl having his feed" or "Awww how cute, she's feeding" or whatever...

You're all like those people who get warned that there is a program coming on that features nudity... and then you watch it just to get offended and complain..

It's pathetic.

You touch on a point here.

How sad that these men are so terrified of breasts that they want to resort to tactics of a third world country to get away from.

Wish I knew before that ta tas had so much power.

12 pages? Wow! This is one of the scariest and saddest statements on our society I've seen in a while.

To each their own. But how anyone can be offended at the sight of a woman breastfeeding her baby in private or public is beyond me. How is this even an issue?

Who is it that decided the female breast was such a threat to society, that it needed laws put in place to protect us from it?

I'm sure all of these Aussie women have now been placed on the terrorist watch list.
