Heavy "Spraying"* in Phoenix Today 2-1-12

I wish I took a picture this morning when I drove to work...the sky was clear and beautiful. Well, needless to say, it is not right now.

Take a look at this picture:




This is facing west, from Gilbert, AZ (Arizona Ave and Guadalupe) towards South Mountain/Phoenix. This is, by far, some of the worst coverage that I have seen. And look at all the haze around too...none of that was there at 8am. I did see a few planes leaving trails this morning, but it was not this bad.

Here is another one from my office a mile away, with a plane spraying:




Say what you want about it being a normal contrail and the atmosphere reacting differently at different heights. I do not buy it. I have seen these spread out to form a haze over the valley, and know that they are not normal contrails, as I have seen those dissipate quickly into the atmosphere.

Anyway, anyone else in the Valley today noticing this?

What ya got there are normal patterns of cirrus clouds that have moved in overhead....and some contrails. The conditions are prime for the cirrus, so they are also prime for contrails.

Cirrus clouds. This is how weather occurs, and how it changes, has been this way for hundreds of millions of years.

Only recent addition are the contrails, since Man invent airliners.......

Here is the most current satellite photo of the ConUS. You can clearly see the extensive cloud coverage moving in from the NorthWest, and over the greater part of AZ, to include Phoenix:

It extends North, and Eastward too, up to Utah and Colorado.

I know there are clouds mixed in too...and I wish I took a picture this morning to better illustrate my point, but I did not. There is just too much of a crisscross pattern and coverage out there today for me to believe this is normal. But then again, I am a member of a conspiracy web site...

I agree with your analysis of the weather, but there is more then just those clouds up there. The lines across the sky are lowering and spreading out. This, to me, is not normal, when I see other lines fade away in the sky too.

What ya got there are normal patterns Chemtrailers make with their planes.

I guess we need to talk to those darned airlines about only flying one way. Maybe north south on one day and east west on the next. Might add a few days to most peoples travels but they will understand. Will that make you happy

No, perfectly normal, given the conditions. The contrails will persist, since the conditions are already obviously suitable for the expanse of other cirrus clouds.

A contrail is nothing but a cloud, produced as a result of our technology, but a cloud nonetheless. As a form of cirrus cloud, contrails behave and are affected by the atmosphere just like every other cirrus type of cloud.

"Spreading out" can occur merely due to the winds, at altitude.

Let's see what's happening up there:

Right now, at contrail and cirrus altitudes, the wind velocity is just over 80 MPH.

I am just curious, if you saw proof that over 50 commercial planes flew directly over your area (where the pictures were taken) just today, or just before you took those pictures, would you still think they were sprayed, or would you entertain the possibility that they might be regular persistent contrails?

Ok, I see the point here. Now, what about another plane flying by that is not leaving a trail and appears to be the same height as the other planes? (I say appears as I have no way of measuring) Would that just be normal atmospheric reaction as well?

I see commercial airliners fly over every day...and I am sure that there are at least 50 - 100 each day that pass right over as well...however, I do not see these reactions in the atmosphere everyday. So, I probably would still be skeptical to answer your question.

Proud Bird. I know that you post on almost in every thread that mentions chemtrails. I have read your self proclaimed credentials.
I don't know why you can't see the difference between these two types of events.
1. You currently fly for whom ever may be eledgedly sparying?
2. You work for a governmet agency with the sole purpose to dispell any such claims as our imagination.
3. Maybe you believe there is no difference between these two types of emmisions from large aircraft?

I am a sky watcher. I have lived along flight paths on both the eastern seaboard and on the west coast. I am not trying to be confrontational but without knowing how you know and why you are so convinced in what you are saying. I find it hard to accept your snappy writeoff of any claims of "chemtrails".

Hello pheonix. I have a slightly off topic question but it involves chemtrails. Has the weather been unusual there? In ohio its been warm when it should be cold. Is pheonix warmer or colder than usual? Maybe chemtrails is meant to cover up the nice weather. Ha ha.

Hi Filosophia - nothing too out of the norm here. I would say maybe a degree or two above normal recently, but overall, the winter has been as I am used to. Now the summer, that was quite different. We went from a super hot and extended summer, to "oh my God where is my sweater" pretty much overnight. Since then, the weather has not been anything out of the ordinary for me to complain about.

Just a few hudred feet can make all the difference, and you can't really tell a difference of even a few thousand feet with planes in the 30-40,000 foot range, especially for different sized planes. Also different planes have different engines, which can also make a dramatic difference in contrail/no-contrail

Thank you for this info. I will check it out - I have to admit, I lean towards believing in this conspiracy, but I do not know enough about the physics of the atmosphere and the way that planes interact. My major question is why do some trails evaporate fast, while others cover the entire sky?

And it looks like this covers it. Thanks!
