As I said before, I do believe cultural diversity must be maintained but we also have to do something to be a more united people of earth unless we are ok with just resigning ourselves to this planet for all eternity.

ok, you seem like a knowledgable enough person to ask this: years ago i recall researching about these assassins. i read that they perched themselves up atop a mountain range and made an elite esoteric community in the mountaintops...
i also read that: as we english-speakers call them "assassins", that their original name (or more so an original name) was Hashashins. i read that this group consumed a lot of hash/cannabis up there and this is where the term hash comes from, and the word assassin (from Hash-ashin). they must have believed that cannabis actually aided in their daily goings-ons in terms of spirituality...and optical, intellectual, physical, and general sensory acuteness.
you do tend to find a lot of muslims and "middle easterners" who enjoy consuming cannabis for spiritual purposes.
this posit might lead "straight-laced" people to assume that the myth is incorrect, because of all the demonizing propaganda surrounding cannabis....some might assume that cannabis intake would disable the assassin's ability to intelligently function and fulfill their assassin duties. I for one, don't believe that hash/cannabis necessarily inhibits physical & cognative dexterity...i think it is up to the mind-set of the user to decide how the THC in cannabis influences you.
i've always found the assassin group interesting because of this link,,,the link of the spiritual use of cannabis. they seem to be one of the oldest recorded groups who used cannabis for this purpose.edit on 1/26/12 by metalshredmetal because: (no reason given)

I totally agree. The problem is that the very people most likely to drive space exploration are those with a taste for novelty and adrenaline. In other words, the same guys who are inclined to wage perpetual war. The guys we're trying to chill out are the guys we need to get off the planet. And we can only get off the planet if we're stable enough for global cooperation. Which we can't have until we chill these guys out.
Oh, my aching head.

I think you are right about the increase in people adhering to religious or quasi-religious groups. I think it is because of a polarization taking place across the world. I think that we all subconsciously understand that the world must undergo serious change to survive under the weight of so many people, so many governments, so much corruption and so little morality, ethics, responsibility, or accountability.
The natural response is to reach out to like-minded individuals with common and comfortable symbols and language. Templars, Masons, etc. have been given an aura of dangerous mystery in popular media. If I say to a layperson, 'I am a Templar.', what they will take away is only that I am involved in something outside of the known realm for most people, but I am linked to the Church. You wouldn't want to be in my Templar gang if you were a muslim. You would be comfortable with a different set of symbols and language, and be linked to a different church.
To see an increase in 'Templars', just tells me that people are choosing to side with the Church. I am sure that in Israel and Iran there is an increase of the same kind, respective to culture. We all know that a major conflict is going to happen, and even in our gang names and avatars we pick sides.

Wait, is that why the pair-bond has been napalmed? So that men and women who can no longer relate to eachother look to have those needs met elsewhere? And can be easily diverted into any subgroup one likes, if one knows how to jimmy that crack?
Also, well done, lady. You are a pack and a half of fizzy Awesome Juice.

I would think it's much more possible that the templars kept an existence and maintain one to this day, than the fabled Illuminati that everyone keeps blaming all their problems on. The templars were around a long time and they were very powerful. Maybe we are entering into a new enlightenment era? One could only hope.
Hi network dude,
I am making my way through these posts and wanted to ask you while I remember,
You make it pretty clear that you think that it is likely that the Templars are still around spending that treasure. But are you saying that this 'new era of enlightenment' that we may be entering in to is going to somehow be at the hands or by the cause of the Templars? I am pretty sure I am reading that right.
So what are the Templars going to bring to the table to enlighten us all? Baphomet? Wisdom from the 'east' in the form of more borrowed mathematics and architecture?
Thanks in advance.
X.

The Templar meme somehow resonates with justified bloodshed,at least with me.Like it's alright killing people in name of ideals, or higher cause, the noble knight can do no wrong. And are you guys talking about the ancient Mithraism ,the mystery religion that the Roman soldiers followed.I've heard that today no one actually knows the true meaning of it's symbols.

Great post my friend!
Makes one wonder how long this destruction of intimacy between us has been going on...I'll admit I see no intimacy with the last generation of my family and even less amongst people of my generation, but its probably been going on for ages.
