Strange noises reported around North Battleford

One of the reason why noise travels further and better at night is simply because the air is colder thus denser.
Sound travels more efficiently in a denser medium.
I used to live like 3Km away from a highway, during the day you could barely hear it, but at night, you can almost count the cars passing by.

Sound travels very well through water, about 4 times faster through water than air. Think about how well whales can 'talk' to each other over miles and miles apart. Sound just needs 'something' to travel through. Even warm air is better than cold air for sound wavces to travel through. I live in Northbattleford there where many people around the city and outside the city that heard the noise.As far as a snowplow being the cause of the noise dont think so.

Yep, just like sound in water.
But as for the exact nature of this sound, I'm still puzzled.
If I ever hear it for myself, I will try a couple of experiments. Like, can I hear it on AM radio ? Short wave radio ? Clear sky or clouded ? and so on...

Anyways, carry on with the good work ATS, this is one of the best "strange sound" threads I have read since a couple of weeks.

Does ANYBODY know anything about this video? Is it authentic? If so, it puts a whole new face on the whole phenomenon. If my eyes are not playing tricks on me - those are UFOs floating over the L.A. skyline while all the strange sounds are happening. Input would be appreciated!

The UFO in the video seems and looks fake Hench CGI.
As for the sounds they could be real, but the UFO flying around looks added in

Honestly, this is the kind of a thread that pushes us all forward, collaberating,

I have not seen that one yet, however it looks so ominous, right off the
bat I think...hmmmm black triangles and ominous noise...

If this is real, they really need to stop spending so much on that black budget.

Going off to have a serious look and do some checking.

ETA First off the sound does not start with the video.

Second thing, those black "objects" are huge...and slow.
Then they dissapear. The video is short.

however, that would not be the first time that people heard strange noises like
that while seeing a UFO..

It could have been a tardy, brief summation of the article in the right hand column on that link, as there's nothing else relevant there - but if so, it seems strange for them to comment on incidents abroad, while ignoring the things that have been reported at home.

I don't mean to sound confrontational, but what has sound travelling further at night got to do with anything? We have always had nights, whereas we haven't always had these sounds - or have I missed something that clarifies the relevance?

Well well - one from my home town. I know that neighborhood quiet well. We had snow last week for a few days too - which lends it's more credibility - at least in terms of date. Thanks for that BTS!
