What a bunch of attention whores, if they want to be atheists then be it, don't waste money on some billboard attacking Christianity.

We just love a good religious debate
I don't understand outspoken atheists. We get it, you don't believe in God.

Oh Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, You're our only hope!!!!! -- woops wrong religion.
If your god has a limit to his patience, then let him take it out on all the people using his name to start and perpetuate wars.
But if you think he's going to go "Oh those pesky unbelieving humans, I'll fix them once and for all I will!!!" then... collectively the world will laugh.
So much for all forgiving and all loving... "Why if you keep it up, God will lose his patience with you heathens, and then boy howdy, you'd better watch out!!!" - (book of Mainidh, 24-01-2012)

Just so people know, over 94 million people have died from communist regimes, which is decidedly atheist.

These billboards are primarily for other atheists since it's hard for believers to see outside that box, it's more about making a statement to other non-believers that they aren't alone.
I've always wanted to put up a billboard comparing God to Santa, since the two are so similar.
It would be socially acceptable to argue against and even ridicule an adult who believed in a supernatural man in a red suit who's punishes the wicked and rewards the good and has supernatural helpers called elves.
BUT a supernatural man in the sky on a throne who punishes the wicked and rewards the good and has helpers called angels, that's something "sacred" and apparently worth respecting. People are even described as "Salt of the Earth" and "Church Going" when people want to ESTABLISH their integrity or moral standing, it's really quite ridiculous.
edit on 23-1-2012 by Titen-Sxull because: (no reason given)
The solution of the problem of squaring the circle by compass and straightedge demands construction of the number \scriptstyle \sqrt[\pi], and the impossibility of this undertaking follows from the fact that pi is a transcendental (non-algebraic and therefore non-constructible) number. If the problem of the quadrature of the circle is solved using only compass and straightedge, then an algebraic value of pi would be found, which is impossible. Johann Heinrich Lambert conjectured that pi was transcendental in 1768 in the same paper he proved its irrationality, even before the existence of transcendental numbers was proven. It was not until 1882 that Ferdinand von Lindemann proved its transcendence.
The transcendence of pi implies the impossibility of exactly "circling" the square, as well as of squaring the circle.
It is possible to construct a square with an area arbitrarily close to that of a given circle. If a rational number is used as an approximation of pi, then squaring the circle becomes possible, depending on the values chosen. However, this is only an approximation and does not meet the constraints of the ancient rules for solving the problem. Several mathematicians have demonstrated workable procedures based on a variety of approximations.
Bending the rules by allowing an infinite number of compass-and-straightedge operations or by performing the operations on certain non-Euclidean spaces also makes squaring the circle possible. For example, although the circle cannot be squared in Euclidean space, it can be in Gauss–Bolyai–Lobachevsky space. Indeed, even the preceding phrase is overoptimistic.[5][6] There are no squares as such in the hyperbolic plane, although there are regular quadrilaterals, meaning quadrilaterals with all sides congruent and all angles congruent (but these angles are strictly smaller than right angles). There exist, in the hyperbolic plane, (countably) infinitely many pairs of constructible circles and constructible regular quadrilaterals of equal area. However, there is no method for starting with a regular quadrilateral and constructing the circle of equal area, and there is no method for starting with a circle and constructing a regular quadrilateral of equal area (even when the circle has small enough radius such that a regular quadrilateral of equal area exists).

or
(2) An Atheist who does it because they truly care about their fellow man, without self interest or self preservation in mind?
I feel the atheist route is more pure... so why would atheism be the fall of man? And why does atheism come with so much negative connotation. Growing up in a strong Christian household I was taught to believe atheists were the devil and evil. This stance in itself goes against Gods teachings. After seeing and experiencing things through my own eyes I denounced religion and now am an Atheist. I believe in my own abilities and need no help from a God to achieve happiness.
