Waited all my life to retire and just be out and close to Mother Nature, so I'm making the best of it, despite my' friends telling me I'm crazy.

Just holding out the winter, then headed up into New England then back out to the upper north west.

After planning on staying up all night to ride out the storm, I fell asleep and slept through the whole thing. But the worst of it was over by the time it got here. We mostly got flooding. Wish we could get some reports from ATS'ers out of Alabama. Hope everyone made it safely through night!

Fortunately, we got lightning, thunder, and just a wee bit of hail. Though right now it's spitting out flurries, kind of windy, and cold out! I prefer my storm last night!

If you had been in line to get some of these storms, I think you might be posting something a little different!

ya this weather is a bit nuts. i live near toronto ontario canada and it is 50 degrees f.,and raining with thunderstorm warnings! this part of jan. we should have 2 ft of snow and be cold as hell!
what, did the people that work at haarp go on vacation and forget to turn it off?!!!

So the other day a ton of snow just dumps on us. I played outside with my kids, went sledding, etc. The next day, my husband and I look out the window to rain and severe lightning. It melted all of the snow! I looked at him and asked what the hell is going on. This weather is too weird for me. He thinks I'm crazy, but it scares me.
First, most of the winter I could go outside with out a coat. My kids played on the swing set.

Second, get like 7 inches of snow in one night. It's very cold.

Now, a storm rolls in, washes all of the snow away and it's no longer freezing cold. Actually pretty mild out today.

What is going on?!!!

Literally across Lake Ontario from you and I could not agree more. We should have at least a foot of snow on the ground and more on the way by now and while we do have some snow on the ground it should almost all be melted by the end of the day with near 50 degree temps today. Now fess up, reficul, it was you who OK'd the haarp tech's vacations, its OK... we won't tell.

Kdog, thanks for the thread and to "ga" and "herenow" for your fantastic info. I was monitoring this thread all evening as I have friends and family in many of the states in the path of this storm front and I was able to find out what was happening in that area as it was happening.

To all who are dealing with the aftermath of these storms and to those who may still be dealing with them I will continue to keep you in my thoughts.

What heck is going on?

A few days ago we had 4 and 5 degree temps, with snow storms. Last night I went to bed and snow was still on the ground this morning I wake up, snow's melted and it's 50 degrees outside.

This is not normal for Michigan.

My thoughts and prayers to the people down south.
