I to cannot let go of a creator! But everything I learn and see yells that I believe in invisible men. Almost every human on earth has an invisible friend! Why do we continue to believe in this? If their were gods wouldnt they say hello or at least do some minor thing to let us know they are more than a mass illusion?

Whats worse is we have leaders in the world that believe in and listen to gods voices in their heads!!

Are 90% of us truely dilusional or will we someday let gods go the way of Santa Clause, Easther Bunny and the tooth fairy?

I mean aside from a book written by uneducated people centuries ago and self induced "Spiritual feelings" what proof drives us all to continue to believe in a god of any kind.

Do we all just believe in invisible men?

I mean people actually are killing each other over invisible men lol? Yet I still feel impelled to believe it myself? Is it becuase I am afriad to admit my mortality?

I myself am agnostic/atheist so I dont believe in something that is just based on pure faith.

Why is it that people base their lives and will die for a simple or complex thought (depending on how you look at it) on something that has never been physically proven?

Its Human nature to have Hope. And if a human being must believe in an "Invisible Man" and a place later on to feel comfortable then that is a completely understandable thing. Its just a matter of how you look at life.

if you believe enough you will start noticing that God does do the little stuff to let you know you are on the right path... that is the Path of Jesus Christ and being one of his followers. Whenever you ask him for something stupid or pathetic, he generally will give it to you. Like once i was coming home and there was traffic because of construction, and i had to merge into another lane... and this guy wouldn't let me in, so then i go Please God let this guy let me in... the next time i tried the guy didn't even move his tires and let me in... Trust me, pay attention and you will see. God loves us all!

no, he was trying to not let me in before. Just like someone to say oh God had nothing to do with it, it was something else. Open your eyes man, God IS real, and God IS judging!

I 100% agree with you on the ridiculousness, but I'm still holding on to the thought of a greater power just in case I'm wrong, lol.

I do see little things which make me go hmmm, as in asking for God to help and in a little coincidental way it does. I could come up with a thousand reasons to argure points of coincidence, or not. I used to have no faith, but I'd rather have some, at least for hope's sake. Cause if I can't look forward to something better, than the place I'm in now is most surely hell.

Personally, poo-poo on the "written word" of God. This was made by man.

Woot-Woot for having A God of some kind in your heart. This just feels right.

the problem is you refuse to listen. You may claim you do, but if you would it would be impossible for you to deny ignorance.

i don't want to fight about this, i believe what i believe for my reasons you believe what you believe for your reasons. But are you telling me that you have never even had a feeling or thought that there was a God? or even a hope that there was a God? Doesn't history dictate the truth? But in reality, God loves us all, maybe not in your reality, but in it he does love even you, even when you denounce his name, and his proper place in your heart.

I wasn't having a go at you or anything, I just think people credit God with
some of the stupidest things that happen to people everyday everywhere
in the world.
If thats the case, God gave more credence to you merging with traffic,
than he did to the people who died in FLorida's recent spate of Hurricanes.
I wonder if some of othe people beheaded in Iraq recently were calling
out to God. Obviously not it seems!
Strange world isn't it

I won't believe in any religion or 'god' until I see the 'god' in a public arena proving his/her claims to be 'god'. Until then, science comforts me...

the problem is this one thing with the terrible deaths... This isnt their place, Earth isn't their real home. We all die, yes, but do you die on his side or not is the ultimate question, because once you die, you will hopefully be in your true home, heaven. That is the way God wants it to be, because once death results then we all are placed for eternity where we live FOREVER!

I was once really Faithful and now I would do anything to get My Faith back, The thing is im lost. I've questioned my self so many times about their being a god or not. I some times go to Church(Roman Catholic) and stare at Jesus up their at the altar and ask who are you. I ask for help and what do I get...Nothing....Im becoming an Aethiest. Theirs been sightings of Angels to back up God , so you guys could look their. One pretty cool sighting was when this lady say the Archangel Gabriel in His battle Armor.

Okay fine! Your a Christian obviously fine! I didn't say I didn't believe in
God. Typical of Christian thinking, you refuse to listen to any kind
of logical argument. It's your way or the highway. I've heard it all
before.
I'm sorry I just don't agree with your logic, as you don't agree with mine.
Please don't take this as a personal attack.

one thing i would say is seperate yourself from a roman catholic church, find a non-denominational church and go there for like 2-3 months straight... Listen to what the preacher states and ask God for guidance before you go to bed. A little "coincidence" for you people. This was when my faith really hit me, earlier this year. I was having trouble with my relationship, and the girl i love. I was in desperate need of help, i was thinking about breaking up with her. So, on saturday night i prayed to God to give me a sign, just a subtle sign of what to do. The next morning i woke up, went to church and the preacher was talking about relationships, out of nowhere, he was talking about relationships, how to deal with them, the patience it requires, and bringing God into them. Im sorry that is NOT a coincidence. Yes the preacher had the whole thing planned out before hand, so it musta been a coincidence. Well why did the preacher plan that out for that day, on the very day i asked for some sorta sign to happen to me?

Hello.

Is it possible that this idea of gods got started somewhere by somebody who say and heard them?

Does this mean, if we consider that somebody has and maybe still does, that EVERYONE sees them? Or God or gods?

Does this mean that those who pray to a God or gods and do not hear or see anything are not seen and heard?

Seems there is enough detailed and historically recorded information to present a good case for several gods to have been here.

By those old descriptions, it would further seem that there are gods still here too. Although, they may not be seen or heard by everyone, just like in ancient times and records.

Why would only "some" people see them?
Favorites maybe?
Possibly the ability to see them, visually and hear them audibly.
Maybe gods don't want to talk to some people. Maybe people who want to talk to gods don't know how.

So many ideas of the why not of it.

Further, why doesnt ET land on the governemnts front lawn?
hahahaha . .. because the government is not the owners of the planet.
In other words, they do not qualify as the front door and are not important enough to be contacted. There is no one door that says - "planet owners". There is only a planet of warring people with leaders in that war who can not get off the planet and survive or colonize, or create self defense from spcae invaders. There is no owner here, no planetary owners. Just a bunch of people with low level technology and warring minds.

What do you think?
Ruth

Why does Macca's have the EXACT burger I want? Maybe because it's what MANY people are after, so they please us all at once.

'God' really needs to be seen by more than one person, by a whole group, prefereably everyone at the same time (hey its 'god' right, he should be able to do that). Or a major media press release saying 'god' will be here in the ABC/CBS/NBC studios tonight with an important message. THEN I might believe 'god' exists, and then I have to ponder whether I will follow him after.

i think everyone is open minded, its just whether or not you want to listen to your open mind that causes you to be close minded, which is why many people don't see him

In the Movie, The Devil's Advocate, Al Pacino as "Mr. Mephistopholes himself" said sure God is there, but he set up shop and left the rest of the work up to you "humans". God is an Absentee Landlord.

It was worth a second thought. I kind of see where the writer of the movie was Jaded, and I kind of agree with the statement.

God is real, but not in your face. There are a whole lot of instances, very tragic instances. where he should be in our faces.

The world could use his direct intervention right about now...
