Yes

Which is; "you fire at us, kill our guys with ied's, then we willl kill you and piss on your dead corpse"

Sounds ok by me

Yeah,
Just like I said before symbolic ceremony, you probably know about that, the Vauxhall car and dead teenagers mural in a Belfast barrack, joyriders who broke a security check. My dad was military, he enlisted in WW2 before he was called up, and yes, he did not care for certain enemies because there would never be a chance to, but he understood that too.

It's honestly not that strange to me.

I know people who would do this.

It's just in incredibly poor taste.

And the reason why some soldiers are like that are because they don't get trained like they used to.

Some people here are soooo far away from the understanding that is slowly rising around the globe : oneness.

They are still fighting their little wargame inside themselves with their emotions. They are still looking at countries and patriotism like if it was some natural resource while it's only artificial guesswork. They are still blind to the nature of reality. They are so empty inside, they don't understand. They don't know why they do what they do, they just do it, without any introspection. They don't compare the reality with what has been implanted in them by the culture they lived in. They act like robots, puppets, full of meaningless pride, full of fears, full of misrepresentations of what the reality really is. Their thought model is outdated, and they don't seem to notice. I am out of words ..

Perhaps you wish to share in your view of oneness.

Last I checked, Muslims, Protestants, and Catholics....the people who make up probably 60% of the world....are not ever going to be one with each other.

Don't bother to talk about oneness when the British and Irish still argue over whose' sovereign.

"Oneness" will only ever come by forced means. And such means always fail.

Enjoy the vast, disunited cohort that is man. I don't want oneness with the world. I want oneness with one person, the person I marry. I want friends and family. And hell, I even want enemies, so that life isn't boring. Not military enemies. Social and cultural ones. People to argue with.

I like to argue.

Indeed let us make peace and enjoy exchanged of information. But I never want the world to be one.

I don't think pissing on dead enemy troops (or defending those who do) is remotely close to genocide.

The way you are describing war seems like you weren't there, because you would really know how precious life is, and its not a joke when fighting.

Is being proud of my ancestor's fighting and struggling to make this country, artificial?

It shure is not guesswork..........It was and still is a struggle just to survive......

I will carry on the tradition of this country for my family of the past and the future..........

Hi there,
This is for you and EvanB......... But everyone needs to know.

I see you and EvanB are handling these responses fine but I still wanted to say I'm on your side.
I work Fire Rescue, been doing it now for 30 years. I started out with the old timers in the Dept being Vietnam vets. Now I'm the old timer and the new guy's coming in are Iraq and Afganistan vets. Kids in their early twenties and damn good responsible paramedics and firefighters. So called "cowards & serial killers" as descriped by the people on this site. These Soldiers and Marines are both compassionate and professional. I'm sure they did things over there that they might not be proud of but that is the nature of war and the necessity of the soldier/warrior.
Now their home.
Just like the vets from Vietnam, Korean, WWII, WWI and the Civil War.
and will assimulate themselves back into the society they left when they were innocent kids.

Where are the "taliban fighters'" guns? I see a water bottle and a wheelbarrow, but no guns.

Assuming that they were all killed there, falling in exactly the same direction landing in a row without being moved or tampered with in any way, then yes I would agree that this is very unusual because Talibs tend to have AK47s surgically attached to their person like a toy soldier.

I'm sure that they were all huddled behind that strategically placed wheelbarrow that could not conceivably be used for any other purpose.

Though I do realise that criticising the Taliban is a bit radical, them being the good guys and all that

well when they were fighting the russians that's exactly what they were to the US.

i believe they we're called freedom fighters at the time.

At what time? This wouldn't happen to be before they actually existed would it? If I'm being pedantic then I'm very sorry.

I wouldn't consider someone a good guy just because it is convenient for me to give him a gun, but that's just me. I hope that you're not attempting to initiate an interesting discussion when we should be moaning about a few Marines having a piss.

If you did read the whole thread you'd already know the answer.

No it does not.

I pointed out before that one wrong does 't justify another wrong.

Some men cry in corners, some men run to their deaths. Those that live, however, don't always respect the dead.

It's not good taste. It's not civil. But never forget. War isn't any of those things.

I don't defend what they do. I'm just saying. People find their ways to relieve battle. And some become disrespectful to the dead.

Men are trained in many things. What they do after the job is done is their choice. I just don't find this to be that big a deal other than tastefulness for the victor. They lack respect for life, that's all.

I didnt say I would do this, did I? I find it funny. That's all. I can understand where they're coming from - you can't.

Of course he can and thats why he's disgusted

Really? A million dead Iraqi's and counting, you're well on your way.

www.projectcensored.org...

www.justforeignpolicy.org...

Are they all insurgents? Justify it to yourself however you need to. Trained to kill. Trained to shut off. You're not protecting your country over there. And they are fighting for theirs.

I'm afraid America stopped being heroes in the eyes of the world a long time ago. Unfortunately soldiers are up to their necks in murder during an illegal war based on lies, so they just haven't had time to realize it yet.
