I considered it a possible quake as well, especially after having received information that I live where a small 2.2 just occurred,
I can't be positive with this however, because I had no idea a quake could last for such a long period, increasing and decreasing in intensity.
I have also noticed this sound off and on over a year or so now and also don't know if quakes are recurring like this in a particular area.
Yes, the New Madrid Zone, that is the line I was trying to remember, where a while back there was talk of a possible giant slaying quake erupting there.
Probably a poorly aimed ELF propagation from the Ruskies trying to agitate the New Madrid Fault area. Instead of pumping low frequency wave energy into the fault area they missed the target and hit the bed rock in the area of the rumbling. Same stuff as HARRP and GWEN wave generation

Just experienced the strangest thing I have ever been through involving the area where I live
The weather here has been a bit rainy and overcast all day
Can anyone else in this region confirm this?
I do not live near any rail system or interstate highway.
I live in a more suburbish/rural area.

I did a google search for strange rumblings knoxville
a few links popped up and one caught my attention because of the location.
When I clicked the link, it took me to ATS thread that was started in march of 2011.
When I scrolled down to find the relative post I kinda luaghed at myself when I saw that it was me! I described it then almost exactly as I did this morning... hmm
What is strange about this is the time of the post. It is near identical to the current thread time.
I wonder what it could be?
