Why should we need a defense in the middle east.

Support those politicians who support Israel and the Jewish people, of whatever party. Reject anti-Semites such as Ron “crazy old angy man” Paul.
No you were attacked because the countries in the Middle East are governed by fanatic religious Muslims, dictators and extremists who believe the world should be Muslim. You are talking about the same countries that still stone women for suspicion of adultery and cut their fingers of for going to school.

To help stop fanatic muslims who will try to attack the west like in 9/11...
Having such a strong force like the israeli military and intelligence helped the west more they you can ever imagine...
Israel is not a nation. If there was a nation, it would be, Palestine.
The purpose of this thread is to state that the nation of Israel and the Jewish people are indeed Chosen by G_d and that this manifests itself as moral, intellectual, material, and spiritual gifts for the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.

Now to correct you, Israel's military has actually greatly helped us, as we primarily finance it. In fact we pretty much own it more or less.
The mess known as Iraq was caused by our own intelligence. Not Israel's. We failed.
Furthermore, the idea of Iraq really cannot be said to be the same after the war as it was before the war. It began as a dishonest war, but became an honest pursuit. And we did win that war. What the Iraqis do with their new nation is up to them.
What you have to realize is that Iraq is a lot like Nazi Germany after they lost. And it took 40 years of influence and occupation to make them become what they are today. We've only been in Iraq for 1/4th that. If things keep pace, we could actually have a good nation and ally come out of it.
But that's just looking at the bright side of a very bad move.

The Obama administration today finalized a $30 billion sale of new Boeing F-15 fighter jets to Saudi Arabia in a deal meant to counteract Iran and support an estimated 50,000 U.S. jobs.
