it does make one wonder why goverments around the world arent racing to get into space, what with all the resources available to us out there but instead we decide to fight over what we have here, makes no sense at all. We should all work together to advance ourselves to a place where we wouldn't need to fight over resources as they'll be all around us, different planets, asteroids and more

Exactly, and with limitless supplies, there'd be no need for money. People could have enough from birth to live out their lives, taking care of themselves. This would mean all the people in power today, suddenly wouldn't have any power. This is why we stay here and fight.....

I don't know, we would still need some form of goverment, there will always be someone at the top but it would be like to govern or else there would be too much crime etc.

Ever heard of James Lloyd? I used to hear him on shortwave radio. He has this theory that the satellite we sent to Saturn may some day be used to ignite that planet.

In this 2 minute 14 second clip from February 15, 2005, James Lloyd intimates that (all laws of nuclear physics aside) the planet Saturn will be "ignited" and become a "new sun". "We're going to tell you more when we come back" so break out your tinfoil hats and stay tuned for more! Not mind control?

I saw that follow up to 2001, 2010 which at the end Jupiter becomes a second sun, question for you if it did become a sun what would happen to earth?
(Cheers for the links will get to them later)

Yup but people once thought flight was a crazy idea and some people tried to prove that if we go more than 37mph in a car our lungs will explode.

Think about it. Why would there be crime if theres no money. Why would you steal? Surely you don't go and steal your neighbor's water? Thats because you have access to all the water you would ever need for right now. If we had free ENERGY what possible thing would you need to steal??

It would be brighter. At it's current mass it's impossible. Considering it to be a star at its mass what would change? Nothing except more light. Jupiter is 1/6th the mass of initiating fission necessary to become a star.

Things would change if it grew 600% the mass it is now.

Sun, 93 million miles away. Jupiter 400 million miles away, at it's closest. Mass of the sun, 1,048 times the mass of Jupiter. Jupiter as a star would not fry us.

No but its combined heat with the sun, what would that do? As I understand were in a kind of safe zone, if jupiter grew 600% and became a star wouldn't this be enough to shift us out of the safe zone??

Yeah made athread to show more folk

The only thing holding your plan back is cost. Cost is the only thing holding us back from mining helium from out of the atmosphere and phosphorus from the seabeds. (we are scary low on stockpiles of these things)
Maybe someday though...It's not a far fetched idea really. S&F
