It just seems like we progress and get these little advantages to make life a little easier, then its gets abused..everytime and it ends up getting picked apart..its a shame really...

Yeah it's like they are zombies pretty much even on the college campus I almost bump into people because they are wobbling while texting. My friend got sent this and sent it to me at first I kind of laughed at it but now after reading this and thinking on it I really don't know what to say about it all. This is all from twitter and after Christmas.

24 Hrs is that it?! If someone can't survive a day without touching their cell phones while driving they deserve to get a ticket, simple.

I wonder how this whole
circus turned out.

Love to see the numbers..

California needs the money
so IMO they are basically
just running a money making
donation drive where you are
forced to give.

Or maybe they are doing it to stop people using their mobile phones to save lives?

No there doing it for revenue,
now we hope it might save lives.
The main reason is to make money
follow the money. It is just clothed
as this were trying to save lives.

The government needs to keep there
nose out of our business.

The funny this is that this law is forcing police officers to do the action of what this laws is trying to prevent. (DWD) Driving while distracted. Oh the irony.

these are the results from a similar crackdown in August....

A similar distracted driving deterrent campaign, for 48 hours, was enforced by the CHP in Los Angeles County this past August. More than 85 percent of the recorded 494 citations handed out within the first 24-hour period of that crackdown involved people holding their phones while driving instead of using a hands-free device. Thirteen of the citations given during that first

There is already a code for driving while texting, 22350VC- unsafe speed.. safe speed being 0 mph / prima facia speed (22352.(a)vc) = 0. "No person shall drive a vehicle upon a highway at a speed greater than is reasonable or prudent"

This is just another scam to generate probable cause so the AAA with a gun CHP (Cant Handel Policework) can further intrude on peoples lives / generate funds... under the guise of for "our safety".

They're deploying officers in street clothes / "plain wrap" vehicles to peer into vehicles.

Anyone interested should look into any publicly available Cali Highway Patrol "PCF" data (aka primary collision factors).. info collected on the CHP 555's (check boxes) which are standard for all Cal traffic collision investigations. I'll bet $, where legal, driving while texting is low on the PCF totem pole.

The #1 PCF for years & years has been failure to yield at an intersection..21801(a)vc.. ie making a left turn in-front oncoming traffic.

Yes.. I was traffic trained in Ca (collisions, DUIs, fatalities, gestapo check points) worked traffic related nonsense for years.. not proud of it either.

First you say there is already a previous citation in place to get those drivers who use cell phones while driving. Then you say this is just another scam to intrude more on drivers? I'm confuzled
