A pyramid you say? You are so wrong. Capitalism works due to the class-based structure for financial freedom. I have never met anyone who disagreed about the US economic system being the best on earth! I am a realist so I do not have the pleasure of sticking my head into the sand on REAL ISSUES such as our economic system.

Nothing is equal in this world. It is this way for a reason!

It pains me to keep saying this but the world is simply waiting for a dying breed to finally die before it can finally progress into something less cruel and more humane.

People will take offense and say "I guess you are just waiting for me to die then" and I can't disagree. I'd rather the hearts of those people evolve and see the pain they are causing their species but, unless they do, they are holding up the line.

Hasn't the middle class always carried the rest of the country?

The blue-collar workers that take long shifts and do the work nobody else wants to?

I was just asking because of the comment you made saying the 1% have always carried the country..i don't know if i agree with that, can you convince me?

We've had our differences in the past Flexy123 but in the spirit of christmas I have to totally agree with you here.

The problem is the people you are referring to are non existant. More people are taking from the system than giving to it, which is why it's failing. Nosediving I mean. You can't have half the population paying no taxes and 20+ percent on government welfare and expect it to work.

Something needs to change or the whole thing is gonna crash, soon.

What do you expect to happen when jobs have been outsourcing to second and third world countries?

Do you not think it was governments responsibility to PUT TARIFFS on imports like in the past?

You can't have your cake and eat it to. That is one of the most retarded euphamism ever created.

Those who criticise the 20% on welfare and the rest on unemployment, have themselves to criticise for voting republican, who are the major proponents of "free market" global capitalism and wall street. After all big business will invest where labor is cheap and could not give a rat's ass about local employment.

Then add the illegal immigration crisis from the south AND VIOLA.....a disaster waiting to happen, will happen!

NOT ROCKET SCIENCE unless I am talking to a blind hypocrite, in which case I apologise in advance.

I don't believe in a wealth cap but I do believe a progressive taxation system. I think those that make 10 million or more per year should pay 40% income tax. This way lots of currency recirculates to the government and then to the people&corporations that truely need it.

Can you define "people and corporations who truely need it"?

Capitalism works but we in the US have rampant corruption. Regulatory bodies are routinely run by CEO's and board members.. Hopefully that changes soon as people are coming around to the real problems we face.

Your argument is class envy and nothing more we've had 50% tax rates and still your in the spot your in.

Don't tell me I am wrong. Prove it. If you are so certain, then your logic and reason should stand up to my mediocre powers of the two.

Nothing equal in this world eh?

I promise you that tomorrow, the sun will shine on you and I alike.

I promise you that the moon will still give her light at night to us both.

There are two things that are equal right there.

Ah, but just because all men are equal before God, does not mean that they are equal before Man.

No, Man thinks his wisdom is greater.

your still allowed to pay your employees...

You could do a lot with those spare profits.....

I Personally Can not see your point?

If you can't see his point, you are being willfully blind. If he can no longer make anything off of his labor, why labor at all? He won't destroy the business though, his children will take over. Nothing else would change.

He wouldn't be labouring that is my point.... He has his 100mil, he can retire. THE COMPANY he created, becomes someone elses and continues. He can continue to earn to his cap, as a shareholder, silent partner, he could work for free, he could sit on a bag of fertilizer and raise an umbrella, the point being, why does he need to have more than 100mil...??

Exactly what I stated in an earlier post. A cap would be 1 tiny aspect of an overall system. To debate whether it would work without the rest of the pieces in place is a waste of time.

A cap would work in a system designed for it to work.

A world could work without money, if thats what was designed to work.

TO say it fails... just because of it's individual merit I still think is narrow sighted.

But hell that just my opinion.

The Elitists have carried this country for the past 235 years and are now calling in stock or are making the largest margin call ever made. Do you know your TRUE American history? If you did you would not be wanting of it now.

Education makes one's world either a paradise or Hades on earth. I have understood this since the age of 2. It really is a simple enough concept to mentally grasp.

Capitalism is "nature's law" in an organized society. All the lions in the serengeti have the same oppotunity to eat yet some don't. It's nature law, they have to go work for it brother.

Then you are doing it for the wrong reasons and your idea isn't needed in the world.

If the idea is something that will be of benefit, then someone else will discover the idea.

Do you really think that the history of mankind hinges or your own greatness?

You are as temporary as toilet paper in the history of time.

Nothing you do will bring you eternal glory.

You will be forgotten about regardless.

Yet you are of utmost importance now. For your now is a small piece of our children's tomorrow.

They are who we are really laboring for.

And when you are reborn into this world, a blank slate, you will judge those who came before you on what they have done to make your life easier.

Not by name, but by their deeds.

Brilliant.

That's well put.

If we could just harness the idea, that we are finite... we are goin to die... no matter how good you think you can be, wouldn't it be better to improve whats left behind for the children of the world. Rather than dying some rich millionaire/billionaire who cannot take a cent with them, and who will only help out a small number of Heirs.

Why, any child... born at any moment... is any different from any other?? why?? A baby is Born into the world, not bought with a specific contract attached.

Yet this world, discriminates before birth, with a class system based on wealth creation, for "INDIVIDUAL" gain.....

And even in a lions pride does he know that his right to rule will some day be challenged and in that challenge will be defeated. Age lays low all lions.

Do you want to live like a beast, then continue to.

But do not cry when the young lion comes and devours your pride.

You said it was the way things should be.

The "elitists" have carried the elitists and nothing more. The entire 1st-world was built upon the blood and broken backs of slaves, immigrants, and underpaid labor. Don't even, for even a second, claim that the overseers are the ones who bare the burdens of advancement. They themselves are the burdens the rest of humanity bare.

I would not say "they carried it". A better phrase would be they leached it!!

Knight templars, royalty, big banks, big business...all scum of the earth.

Why would you condone such behavior unless you had something to gain?

If I called you a troll, would you report me to the mods? Nevermind I like to be able to communicate with evil for a laugh or two.

Nothing is ever equal in this world. Nothing is ever created equal in a material world. Everything by law attempts for balance but we are talking about the world of man. A being born in the flesh to pursue flesh to stay in existence. A being born WANTING & NEEDING of its mother's nipple and even to the grave it wants and needs all its life.

What does it want?

What does it need?

answer: THINGS

Man made money so that money buys these things man NEEDS and WANTS.
The very nature of man is selfishness. Greed only come in to play when potential in material things is realized.

From the first law of nature being SELF-PRESERVATION to the end product of that preservation being THINGS!

Maybe i should have quoted my reply...it was in response to your illustration of equality. The sun shines on all the arses of the lions equally, but some dont get to eat. Nature's law.

I dont live as a beast, ruthlessly devouring all around me. I went to college and learned a trade and earn a decent middle class income. I give when I can be in the donation can at the gas station for a house that burned down or to the man holding a sign at the local walmart who needs a drink. But i'll be damned if im gonna sit back and let my food be given to lion who lays around complaining of the sad state of the nation, who has no ambition or drive just envy.

I really do not envy money or the people who have it. Ok maybe a little but not in the way most would think. I just want enough to live a happy life without major denials. So far I have earned every penny, nickle, dime, quarter, dollar I have made.

If I made a million tomorrow I would not mind paying 40% if those who make 10 million pay their 40% as well. I simply don't want to be a sucker for the government who wastes my money or some ultra rich man/women who makes billions with insider information and pays nothing.

Yes corruption is a problem. A big problem!

When the Op stated a cap on wealth, many of you have replied honestly. However, after reading the whole thread, nobody has stated anything about the fiat currency we use. So you have millions or billions on the books. Could you actually go the the bank, cash in assets, or sell stock, and have a trundle full of cold hard cash? I think not.

Where's the dividing line between money that is real, and money that is imagined? How much of the whole "wealth" game is a bunch of numbers on a balance sheet?

There are the factors of greed and jealousy, sure, when you espouse ideals, solutions to unsolvable problems. Can I get agreement on the fact that the system is broken, not simply because of uneven wealth distribution, but by the fact that the "currency" is fake to begin with?
