Now, maybe we could call all UFOs strange, but this one, was exceptional, at least in my very limited experiences. It started around December 3, when my neighbors put up their christmas lights. I had just noticed it that night, somewhere in the South-Eastern sky, kind of near Betelgeuse, at least from my point of reference.
It was the same relative size of the stars, but, it seemed to be blinking. I thought that it seemed to reflect the christmas lights that were just put up, but, couldn't explain how that could happen to myself. About a week ago, one of my friends even saw this "star" and we talked about how it was crazy looking because it was flashing different color lights(or so we thought).

It has been maintaining its position in the sky since I noticed it that night, and would move as the other stars should. That is mainly why even thought it was blinking, I was decently convinced it was still a star, because it moved perfectly(to my naked eyes) along with the other stars, to disguise itself.

Last night at roughly 11:15, me and two friends were having a smoke in the backyard. We were actually looking at the "star" and it began to move. I had that feeling of insane excitement/fear that I got when I saw a UFO once before and started to yell at my buddies that it is moving. It actually came nearly over our heads and flew from the SE to the NW. Wasn't really close enough to see an outline of the craft against the clear night sky, but, we could easily see the lights.

The photos are chronological, taken by me, my little Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH25, after I sprinted inside when I saw it moving. In my hands, no stand or anything. I believe the third photo suffers from the most motion blur from my hand.
The craft was completely silent.

1/2/3/4: Approaching my location.
5:nearly overhead.
6:going away from my location.

Wow dude. Pictures three and four are the most interesting. I cant say for sure what you saw, but it was definitely something different. I don't want to say anything until the more experienced ATSers get on here and diagnosis what it is. Photoshop or not, creepy.

I would hope that you would have more faith in your fellow forum users than to waste their own and everyone elses' time by photographing airplanes. Although there are those people out there, I am sadly sure.
I do understand that you didnt see it sit for nearly 3 weeks in place and mimic a star and actually begin to move, so the photos are nearly meaningless to you and there is nothing more I can do to convince you. But, don't post meaningless crap, like your one lined opinion please.

The craft seemed to be kind of like a diamond shape, at least from the bottom. I could not see ANY of the actual craft, but from the placement of the lights, it didn't appear to be a saucer, at least not a nicely rounded one.

I do feel bad/dumb for not reporting the blinking star. I thought of posting about it on here, but when it was in the "star" state it was too far away from my camera to even be a little dot like in the first photos I provided. I kind of hoped someone else would have seen it and posted about it or something. I will be sure to never overlook another strange looking star again, even if it sits for nearly 3 weeks in hiding.

If this was taken in Northern California...

On 7-28-09...I saw the exact same thing.

I think I know what it is....

Where was this taken? I didn't recognize the name in the OP

Monterey bay, seaside. Under SF, we consider it Northern Cali.

The T&C allow for one line posts if they are a salient opinion of what one views in the OP...

Couple of points...

I do not care two shakes if you BELIEVE the object you viewed in the sky suddenly started to move two nights, two weeks worth of nights, two years worth of nights, two lustrums worth of nights, two decades worth of nights, or two centuries worth of nights later...chances are what you saw and photographed was a freaking airplane...

I would suggest that the object you originally saw from the 3rd and the object that flew over your position were different things , Jupiter is bright in the sky and there have been a few posts from people thinking it to be a UFO .

The object in image 5 ? ... don't know but it could be a plane , but as I say not sayin it is but could be

Yeah, because the are a lot of rectangular airplanes.

Let the man tell his story...You were not there...

Sheesh...

did you read the thread?

Yes, I read the thread...and I could bring the OP here to my house and have him watch the planes flying directly over my head at night...I sit directly under the approach pattern utilized by planes flying into O'hare/Midway....about 60 miles out, due East...I watch the planes drop out of high altitude flight East of my home and they take a line directly toward my home...Many times (too numerous to mention), they appear motionless as they are IN FACT moving toward their final destination...but, bit by bit, they finally start to clearly move across the sky...

Anyone who has watched a B-52 or C-5A Galaxy on approach to Andrews AFB (for instance, those living in Waldorf, MD) can very well attest to the fact these planes appear motionless in the sky for a very long period of time....

WOW dude, have some respect for yourself and the rest of us. We are all here to find a solution to some of the images and videos that people post to see if there's an explanation to it. The way you come across is as if you were there with the OP the whole time to claim your findings.

Show me in those images the evidence you see as being an airplane? Show us the experience you have in images and how it could easily be identified as a hoax or airplane or something real? Please ENLIGHTEN ME on this subject, I am dying to learn from you!

First of all, any commentary regarding respect should be forwarded to smashdem...I did not label his OP as "meaningless crap," as he labeled my analysis... I have complied with T&C...

Second, any object in the sky with three lights is typically an aircraft of some sort...two outbound on the wings and one on the front on the nose...

My analysis...

I take your post as insulting, and do not appreciate it. I know what airplanes look like, civilian and military. I know what aircraft sound like. I know what FAA regulatory lights look like.
I do not "give two shakes" if YOU think the photos from my crappy point and shoot look like an airplane, because I know what I saw and how this object behaved. If you don't believe me, stop wasting your time because you are never going to convince me that the object I saw that mimicked a star for nearly 3 weeks and then suddenly begins to move was an airplane.
Not to mention that it flew clear over the airport in a direction that is NEVER used by either civilian or military craft. Was perpendicular to the regular path.
