Who Will Disappear First, ATS or Its Members? Have any members "disappeard" yet?

Yeah. A lot of interesting things on this site. And I agree with you about the elbrity thing!

As long as they can marginalize us as "crazy tin foil hatters" they don't need to disappear anyone. We are of no real consequence as long as the vast majority of people believe we're all crazy.

The only way I can see them disappearing people (for the time being) would be if someone popped up with what was obviously real insider info or if the vast majority of the public magically started believing conspiracy theories. And even then, the run of the mill conspiracy buff wouldn't be in much danger. They would be mostly looking for people who put forth the most plausible theories (and therefore, the theories the general public is most likely to believe).

As near as I can tell, we don't have much to worry about. If I breathe a word about anything even remotely sounds like a conspiracy theory on a "normal" forum, I get attacked from all sides. Even the most unorthodox posters won't risk their status as upstanding sheeple.

What we really have to worry about is the broader issue of censorship. If they can legally censor you, they don't have to make you disappear. They can just make you obey the law.

Boondock was one of the main reasons I decided to finally register with ATS. Then, he was gone.

Just recently, I was cruising other "places" and saw him posting on another site. It was totally recognizable, not just by his material but because he still had the same name and avatar. I was totally thrilled and messaged him. Then I realized he hadn't logged on since the end of summer. Epic fail for me.

If anyone finds him out there in cyberspace, let me know because I love his stuff! Hope this wasn't against the T&C. No harm meant.

I always wondered if those banned members came back under a new name.
Eventually,ATS will get under your skin and you will go bonkers.

Many have disappeared poof, gone, just like that into the mist...And some have come back under different incarnations and names, and some just have not posted anything in so long that they might as well have disappeared.

People come, people go, such is life, even on ATS.

Some say that's its better to burn out, and some that its better to fade away.

And even recently I can think of a couple of member that got banded.

But over all there are many that have disappeared and got banned all for various reasons.

Anything from breaking T@C's. To CIA/FBI problems and such. To the reptilians got them. To interdimensional entities made them disappear. To some were interdimensional entities and decided to leave. To some now work for one of the PTB's, or the NWO. To they got bored and moved on, and some... possibly!... even!... That they got a life and have no time for ATS, and so on etc, etc.

And off course some have burned themselves away with all the drama and paradoxes, and some that have faded into the mist whence they came from.

I got to say though, if I think about it. I do sort of miss some of them.

That's how you know that you have definitely been spending to much time online, and on ATS. Maybe it is time for me to fade away as well.

Nothing lasts forever....Not even the lol'z.

i used to, yes... in the good old days when people actually came here to seek understanding Today very few even read past the OP before stating an opinion, a wrong opinion because had they read to post 3 they would have seen the answer.

So no... nothing I post on ATS anymore has any importance

what IF someone gets banned simply because they are saying something certain parties don't want to hear?

I think that the mods need mods , that is to say that even mods are human (whoda guessed lol ) and are subject to sudden anger.
So if the rumors of any ban hammer being only allowed in group mode, and will take more than one mod is a damm good idea.

Watch out or that crown might not fit anymore if your head gets to big.

Remember a big head makes a big target. It will be kind of hard to miss if someone is aiming for it.

The solution would be a circular Mexican stand-off. The only problem is that if a ban hammer comes down, ATS would suddenly become empty of members and Mods. It would be like a MAD policy.

The alternative is a benign dictator to rule the mods and the more uppity mod slapped all over his/her naked body with a wet halibut.

Sounds much more cooler then the Mexican stand-off option. But I agree with your second point, slapping them with a fish is also a very good idea.

That's true, I mean I have never put up a single off topic or inappropriate post on ATS yet I've had posts removed and points taken away to the point where I'm now scared to say anything in case I get banned for no reason and wondering if my rational views don't fit with the crazy theories that some mods believe in.

Greeneyedleo is great though, I like her, she's cool.
