Ah, well thanks then. It seems it's the same old garbage that keeps him from getting any time at debates, so he has to resort to the Tonight Show. While it's some time for him to actually speak without being interrupted, it only goes to show what sort of target audience he is aiming at.
I wouldn't call common sense garbage...but I'm not American either so...people with this kind of thinking is exactly why politician's of this caliber don't get elected. As for "resorting" to the Tonight Show, well what would you do if you were largely ignored by the MSM but NOT by the people voting? Smart move on his part and on Leno's part. Target audience of 18 - 49 year olds? Perfect! Get all the young kids voting...I would like to see what the ratings were for that particular episode though! Got anything smart to say or just don't like the man?
LENO: What roll should the federal government play in people's lives?
PAUL: Its very minimal, but we have a document that tells us exactly what it should be, and thats the Constitution. Anybody that can read should know. The most important part of the constiution, that tells us exactly what to do, is article 1 section A. It lists 20 things that we are allowed to do, and what we're not allowed to do is reserved for the people and the states. In general it's to preserve liberty, to allow people to run their own lives, to spend their own money.
LENO: Are you for legalizing marijuana, or the states right to legalize? PAUL: The states certianly have some authority to regulate alchohol and drugs. As a federal matter there is nothing that says they the federal government has the autority to do it. As I said before the role of the federal government is to protect liberty, that means they should protect our religous liberties to do what we want, our intellectual liberty, but it should also protect our right to do to our body what we want, you know, about what we take in to our bodies. LENO: Even if its harmfull to you?
PAUL: Thats right, and really the government can't protect us from ourselves. If they imbark on doing something like that the government is totally out of control.
LENO: Would you be against seatbelt laws?
PAUL: Yea, sure, im for seat belts, but against seatbelt laws. Its a wise thing to do that, its a wise thing to not use drugs too, I mean, I have kids, and grandkids, and I think its terrible to use these drugs, but I want people to make their own minds up.
PAUL: The worst part is when the states come to the point where they say marijuana is helpful for medical reasons, and I beleive that is the case, the state legalizes it. Then you have the federal government come in and override the state laws, thats really way over the top. quite frankly, I think a lot more people die from it, and there is a lot more danger with the alchohol than there is with the marijuana.
LENO: ...how about gay marrage, how would that fit in?
PAUL: My position on marriage is that the government outta stay out of it completely and quit arguing over it.
LENO: (speaking on ending the IRS) What would our main source of revenue be?
PAUL: Where it came from before 1913. Nothing can happen on the tax code. The tax collection is sympton of an appitite for big government. So the people have to change their mind, if the people want us to be the policement of the world, and have welfare from cradle to grave, no you cant get rid of taxation and we'll continue on until we are totally bankruput and our currency fails. But if you want a constituationl government you really dont have to have an income tax. But the people really have to make up their mind, one person in Washington can't change the whole tax code.
LENO: You're for cutting foreign aid as well, tel me about that. How much do you cut?
PAUL: All of it. Foreign aid, theres no proper authority. I argue that in the most part foreign aid takes money from poor people in this country and gives it to the rich people in the poor countries...

You Ron Paul supporters crack me up. It reminds me of the same phenomenon of when Obama first came on the scene. All anyone EVER has to do with you people is tell you EVERYTHING you want to hear, and you line up in droves to make the same mistake OVER and OVER and OVER.
Its like you have absolutely NO MEMORY of history...

Yes, that is exactly what I am getting at. He does need to shore up support for people that are outside of that target audience. Unless he does, I'm afraid he's completely wasting his time, and everybody elses time, too.
