What I just realized for the first time is that of all the places they could put the captured US drone, like in a military warehouse or hanger, they have it displayed in a GYMNASIUM???????

WTF!

I would think that they would have this thing pretty much locked away, out of sight, yet, they display it in a public place like a Gym?

This leaves the damn thing sitting right out there in plain sight, where ANYONE could systematically figure out its exact location. I mean, how many Gym's exist in Iran, with green markings on the gym floor, and with those particular wall posters in the background???

Something is not right here folks.

Wont be surprised if that drone was equipped with a bomb. That thing is pretty big.

Maybe it was the closest structure to where they found it. Or that and it was the largest that they could find.
Either way I agree it's a poor choice of location, considering that it looks like they emptied the Gym so if we were to attempt to destroy the drone there would be minimal human damage.

I'm going to guess that is now sitting deep inside a military base and likely underground. I'm sure Iran wasn't going to invite the outside media onto a military facility for the big news show while they are gearing up for war though. They have things like Missiles exploding for no apparent reason and killing General Officers like they're endangered species, after all.

One can hardly blame them for a little pinch of paranoia. lol... In their case, I'd say they really have reason to harbor a raging case of it, actually.

Makes sense to me tbh, better that the world sees a Gym in the background than a stockpile of WMDs or secret technology Iran probably hasnt got but hey. Also this is a major coup for them so many people will be able to come see it without having to obtain special clearance. Similarly if it was held in a military facility perhaps an attack would have more justification whereas in a public gym/School, I dont think so.

That thing looks so fake to me, the quality isn't even that great, and the paint looks like some primer that hasn't had a final coat applied. The fact that the bottom is covered makes me wonder if it is being propped up on crates or something or if it is just hollow.

Perhaps it is a replica of the real one they captured and are studying somewhere else?

Could be a gym on a military base.

Wonder if America would use such a drone on there own soil as a pretext to war.

Blame it on Iran saying they had modified it or copied it as a weapon against the US.

Me too chevy369, now whoever touched it and tried to scan data from it may have got tagged. Also if Iran is secretly connected to ANOTHER SUPER POWER if they sent data to them THEY probably got tracked and tagged too. War games are wild..

those pics do look funny.

its probably a gym in the U.S.

the two actors in the pic have never worn those uniforms before in their lives.

Yesterday I read everything I could find about that Drone.

I saw a picture on Google Images showing a drone like this in a Taliban truck.

It was probably traded to Iran for a pack of smokes and some bad whiskey.

It was in three pieces. It was then very crudely welded back together.

Since the Iranians couldn't match the paint, they came as close as they could.

That prompted an ex-pentagon official to say this Ex-Pentagon official says drone is a fake

I don't think the President would fly these drones over Iran. This is an act of war.

Here's the article I found claiming the drone probably went down in Afghanistan.

US Drone might of come down in Afghanistan

The Iranians did not land this thing. It was hand delivered.

I think otherwise. To be honest this is a good thing from my point of view because it will show to the masses (which I consider of having the right to know what happens) to see what U.S.A. is using to spy on them. This might change the thinking of a civilization who thought a country was not that far advanced technologically.

Hiding from the masses is the greatest mistake ever made in history in relationship of the masses and TPTB.

Maybe your avatar/picture simply states why you have such reasoning ?

Probably all the gyms? Looks like any basketball / multi-purpose court I've ever seen. and those posters are merely posters, and were probably put up specifically for the photo-op.

But why would you be surprised? Iran is, and should be, proud they caught this thing, and for them, it's a PR victory to display it to anyone willing to see it, to show that the masterful US military isn't perfect.

You haven't seen military equipment close up then, like most things in the world once you see it properly it looks pretty crap.

Regarding the thread topic, as someone else pointed out the best possible place to have the media show is going to be in a public building as any attempt to bomb it would result in an attack on a civilian target. Saying that how do we know the gym isn't in a military base? Would make sense even if it is to have it in a less secure area if you're going to have the media in there.

However, I must admit I did find the colour scheme rather odd but I haven't researched this. I certainly would not be surprised if there is a reasonable explanation for this and when you think about it, as there are various images available online why not make it look more like them if you're going to fake it?

It does not even look like it can fly with those tail surfaces. The camo netting covering the undercarriage?? Why not show the whole thing in its glory. It does not look right all the way down to the strange mesh configuration where a cockpit would be traditionally be located. I smell a movie prop here.

I believe that when the US military uses any equipment in the field, they are already aware of the risk of loss, and they will not send anything even close to their cutting edge tech.
If we are using Predators, and accepting the risk of loss, you can be pretty sure we have MUCH better equipment and tech in the wings just waiting to be used.

It could be a good way to further sneak viruses into other Iranian computer systems. Send them a crappy drone filled with various viruses and when they start poking about the innards, viola!, you know can watch what they are doing in real time or crash their defense net with a tap of a key.

There is one additional aspect to this story no one seems to be thinking of... IF this was a fake, and I don't think it is, it was on the United States to prove that. How? Well, gee... America freely admits to losing one at this point, so we aren't exactly hiding much anymore. Why didn't a base commander in Afghanistan just walk out to the flight line and photograph it's sister ships? Surely this isn't the ONLY one of it's kind in the entire theater of combat.

If this is fake...Okay, I'm open to that possibility. Lets see a side by side with the REAL one. Of course.. The U.S. is so obsessive about secrecy purely for the sake of secrecy, we'll never get that comparison, even if this IS a fake and that simple demonstration would clear up the matter fairly well.

Oh the many ways we've gotten into the mess at the point we find ourselves today.

I have worked around much military equipment, and things such as aircraft and drones are typically well maintained, at least in the Air Force. Besides occasionally being dirty they are typically in excellent condition and well made.
