a bit of pr and hordes of twitter/fakebook spamming drones are enough

revolution going on". lol. oh, and there's thom yorke. so now, el revolucion
has become a - rock star. see?

some people will even make some money out of it. and everyone is happy.
except gullible people getting some of that fat end of a truncheon. but hey,
"it's revolution". so, why not, eh?

I only read the quoted words from the OP and it makes me sick (i don't have time currently to read below) but if this is true, what is happening to free speech has disappeared.... if he is a member if the media (family guy) he should help this message spread through the cartoon.

It has millions of viewers worldwide, that tread the sarcasim in the shows (if intended serious) would be taken serious.

An untouched audience for the OWS protest.

I personally (from Australia) am appalled by the way your being treated, and i know in occupy Melbourne was shut down before it could even start(the people joyed that it was shut down).

Australia is a country that is so far gone TPTB its not funny. Don't ever think we'll riot, because anybody that does, is considered a slack, no job, iq of 80 no hoper that should be put down. Not to mention anyone of us that does leave our stable job for over a week will lose our house (being the most expensive bloody place to live on the planet) We're trapped.

Cops.

Im past the point of getting really sick and tired of these thugish cops.

Im at the point where all I believe that they are useful for is beating people up, interfering in family domestic disturbance issues, and issuing speeding tickets.

They dont prevent crime. They encourage it,and half the time, they are the ones responsible for it.

They are more like the Nazis were back in the day. Destroy all that is not useful to the state, and lock up and torture those who are going up against the state.

Side note- Cops have NEVER been there when I needed them, NEVER, not even once.
- but they always seem to be there when I am doing 5 mph over the speed limit.

Cops have always been against everything that I stand for, liberty.
Im not a criminal, but they sure do like to treat us like such.
Maybe its the power that comes with having that gold star on your shirt, maybe it gives you super Satan powers.

All I know, was when asked if I would rather be a cop who enforces backwards laws, or a Marine who fights for our freedoms, it really was not a hard decision.

Cops have never been there when I or my family needed them, but 'the people' have always been there when I needed them. So why would I choose the side of the cops, no matter what the reason?
If you dont have faith in your police, then what good is it to have Police?

Actually, I am beginning to think that the Police are being setup. In the current scenario they are the perfect scapegoats. Things get worse+ increased police brutality+ more government corruption by the psychopaths and sociopaths in the bureaucracy and elected office= Military coup; a coup that will be embraced and loved by the people. An intriguing way to destroy our liberties. Pay to place inept people into office. Lower the mental health standards for police officers. Fill their heads and make them think they are on the same level as soldiers, then pull the rug out from underneath them all when the time comes.

I always wondered who the scapegoats would be. For awhile I thought it might be feminist's, but it seems they just used them to make the flame burn hotter. I guess time will tell if this one a one off thing are an increasing trend. But take heart, if it is an increasing trend, the police officers of today will likely be made scapegoats by the fascist regime of tomorrow. As any regime that wants to last long(Remember Machiavelli wrote "The Prince" out of pure sarcasm hoping to cause his oppressors to be violently overthrown[he wrote the book while recovering from a very serious beating]) has to rule with 'love", and as such gestapo thugs won't be needed.

On the plus side, if I am right we will enjoy a golden economic age soon. Of course after things get much, much worse.
-----
You have to understand that the monied class often are merely inheritors of wealth. They may of had a superbly gifted human being as a parent/relative. But they themselves are very ordinary and in some cases below par. Yet they want to keep the life they are accustomed to. There are only two really decent ways: Fascism or Feudalism. Or perhaps a Feudal Socialist type state. No matter.

But direct competition is something they must crush or else they will be usurped by the new generation of "superbly gifted human beings".

And then the mainstream news wonders why a pig got capped at VA tech. Well next time you want to protest make it an armed protest and i doubt they will be as willing to treat people like that. Stop all the people who turn up to these protests wanting to have a party because they are the ones that messed it up. Honestly a peaceful protest was doomed to fail in the beginning, armed revolution gets the message across much more effectively.

I spent a grand total of 20 minutes at the occupy nashville BS and it was a bunch of wannabe hippies who thought they should have 6 figure a year jobs because they went to college got a useless degree and now they think they are owed something. Work for it retard
Bill Gates didnt make his fortune sitting on his ass! Why should the social security income be cut for seniors who worked their asses off when they were younger just because some 24 y/o with a degree thinks they deserve it more. Useless youth and some wonder why so many from other countries come in and take up the smaller jobs because the spoiled little brats in this country are to afraid to pick up a damn hammer or shovel.

New law you DONT work, you DONT eat. simple

There was a time in this country when all work was honorable. I read the stories about Laura Ingalls Wilder, and in the stories the author was talking about her sister Mary (who really was blind, but never married), and this girl was trained to make brooms for a living.

I am a disabled person who has worked until my body refused to any more, so I had to find something else to do. I could sit behind a desk and use my writing skills, so I decided to write articles and I write screenplays. But for those people who do not have the talent to write creatively, they could be trained to do other jobs at writing various things, or even work as receptionists, but too often these people have to compete with able-bodied people for those jobs. It seems that working in road construction is beneath some people so they want to sit in offices.

Some of us are not able to work at physically demanding jobs, but we are often shut out because able-bodied people work in offices. If tomorrow an office called me to come and work for them, I would take it. I think disabled people should be given training with jobs that are not physically demanding, that way they would be given an opportunity as well. But that would be discrimination against able-bodied people, so we are stuck back at square one.

There are an awful lot of computers out there, and disabled people can work from home for reputable companies, so there should be a way made for them. Even if a disabled person can work four hours a day, that would make a difference. The Reasonable Accommodation regulation is a joke in most cases because most companies just can't make reasonable accommodation and if they are able to, most times they don't.

One time, I was told that I could work at Wal-Mart as a cashier sitting on a stool, well if you have ever been a cashier, you know that is impossible. But when it does work, then it is a joy. I say, give disabled people opportunity and train them for those jobs. But then again, it is discrimination against able-bodied people, so where does that leave us who want to work productively? We find things at home, but don't get paid.

I'm honestly surprised as to why you guys have no clue as to why police act like this? There are some VERY famous psychology studies done in Stanfard (or was it Samford?) where students were to dress and act the part of a guard and prisoner. The guards began to truely act the part.

Mmh, Stanford Prison Experiment. What was interesting was the reactions of the prisoners. Some protested (with varying degrees of futility) but the majority simply followed orders, not willing to take punishment. The effect was immediate - the moment they changed into the white gowns, designed to dehumanise and deindividualise them, their behaviour began to change.

And it can hardly be said that the effect on the students was due to their young age and inexperience, as the researcher even found himself falling into character. When asked by a student what the Independant Variable of the study was, he found himself becoming angered because he was busy trying to prevent a breakout in the 'prison', and one that never occured.

I think it explains a lot about the way that the police acted, assuming the truthfulness of the article. I'm not excusing such actions, but at least it gives insight into the processes causing such behaviour.

This is just a bunch ignorant bullcrap.

There is a saying "if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen".

A "peaceful" protest, is when you stand on a corner and sing lollabies, and when the police comes and tells you to go home, YOU GO HOME ... that is what a peaceful protest is. The moment you don't obey the orders from the police, or from the government ... you are in a greyzone ... and unless you are ready to take it to the next level, get your butt home ...

Many people are frustrated, and they are waiting for action that will change the course of history. The are waiting for that moment, where people stand together in solitarity ... and solitarity means, that if the cops come and take you, the ENTIRE people move against the cops .... that is what solidarity means.

But your not that crowd ... your just "hippies" like someone pointed out, who sing lollabies and you've been smoking too much "medicine" all your life, to comprehend the meaning of "take it to the next level". Because if you don't obey orders, and go home ... the police WILL take it to the next level ...

This isn't a game for pussies, kids and retards ... unless you are ready to take the step, STAY AT HOME.

THIS.

I've been hearing this a lot lately, and people who claim to oppose the bankers, claim themselves to be leftists ...

Truth is, those who oppose the bankers are NOT leftists ... the idea of a federal bank, and a central control over the monetary system, is a jewish-communist idea. Israel is an example of a communist state ... they don't call it communism, but it is. Karl Marx was born into a wealthy jewish family. Yes, the very people who more or less ... OWN all the banks, if not directly.

Here is the definition of "socialism":

Economic system which is based on cooperation rather than competition and which utilizes centralized planning and distribution.

And lookup the "communist manifesto", to see what central ideas are along communism. The central part of communism, is "central banking". You replace the word "national" with "corporation" and you will get the current system of the US of A. As well as a large portion of the western world.

The only system, that ensures that YOU, the PEOPLE decide the value of goods ... is a free market. But NO company, and NO rich person alive ... wants free competition ... because free competition means anyone of YOU can become rich, and ANYONE can become poor ... also the rich. So the RICH WANT regulations, and they WANT SOCIALISM, in the form of cooperation to ensure their own superiority.

Just one story of thousands. They're ramping it up slower than I thought, and the american people are much more apathetic than I thought, which was pretty low to begin with. I mean, come on. Oh you can protest, but just where nobody can see you or be bothered by you. There are some in this thread that seem to support that idea quite a bit.

If the OP guy who got arrested is telling the truth. It's a hideous example of using force and threats to destroy resistance on unarmed, peaceful people.

So they're gonna use nukes if people fight back for real then?

Looks like they already put out the episode sort of dealing with this. Family Guy season 10, episode 8 they get arrested and put in a chain gang by a crooked cop. Then at the end Joe gives the crooked cop a speech about what a cops real duty is, to protect and serve.

Just goes to show how scared the sock puppet politicians and Wall Street are if they trample citizens' rights like that.

Peaceful protest is not about following the orders and going home, nor is it about getting a permit to protest on public land. It's about standing your ground and getting noticed.

Now, this is what a REAL peaceful protests look like:

Are we at that point? Not even close, forcing people to kneel on concrete for 7 hours is just a taste of what is too come. But alas, revolution is inevitable, so I will start by supporting these hippies who may be labeled as brats by everyone else, it's a good thing people (no matter who they are) start taking action now even if it is minor.

I swear, if people in America had to endure what it takes to sustain America, from the chinese sweatshops to Halliburton oil warfare, revolution would have occurred long ago. The fact is, a more honorable and just picture of reality is painted on TV, and so Americans do not have to endure the hardships crafted into the machine of global business and politics while maintaining their sense of morality. As with what always happens in nature, things will balance out, it won't happen overnight, but based on global climate since the Arab Spring, I think America is ripening.

When you consider that in life we have to base our "roles" on what we are taught and see and learn, is it any wonder that Police and Guards have a "power" mentality.

I can't think of more than a couple of instances in my life where they have been portrayed in any other way. We have come to learn that this is "how" they behave.

We teach our kids the same things and pass on this mentality. The ones that are attracted to that kind of thing will be drawn into these positions.

Now of course not stereotyping as I have met plenty of upstanding fine Police Officers and Screws in my time, It just seems the numbers of more Violent Types in the force is on the increase.

But also you have to consider the fact that the media perpetuates this mentality by bringing us all this violence. They make sure that we "fear" authority, it serves their purpose.
