How can Newt Gingrich be at the top of the polls.

How can this guy be at the top of the polls? With all his baggage why do people support him?

-He served his first wife with divorce papers while she recovered from cancer treatment.
-He left his second wife for his mistress.
-Paid 300,000 fine for misusing a charity for political gains.
-He made tons of money giving "advice" to freddie mac
-He is everything washington that people are upset about. No one is more washington type than him.
-He take whatever side of the story that benefits him. Look at the ad for global warming that he did with hillary Clinton

I didn't know of anyone voting for him until he went up to the top of the polls. Now people say"I'm voting for newt he is leading in the polls." I think that is pathetic.. Is the media so overtaken that they can just make up the polls to get people to vote for him. Is it that he is actually a good canidate? I can't find anything that would make me vote for him. Has he ever done anything while in office that is noteworthy?
I watched all the debates and he speaks very well (better than I type) but to me he comes off as an arrogant self centered person. I remember at the beginning of the year he dropped to nothing then within a week he was at the top of the polls.
I also believe he has no chance of winning the presidency of the USA. It all seems so obviously rigged and most people don't notice. Its as if they accept that this is the way it works.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Also anything that he did good or bad that you could list.

People have such short memories. It's almost like they're drugging the water supply or something

because polls are flawed. a telephone poll of a thousand people can't represent a country of 300 million.

and second the msm decides who's in first. and advertising revenue factors into it. if cialis is against ron paul, then i'm pretty sure cnn won't back him.

cialis approved of newt gingrich and herman cain, for obvious reasons.

I think this is the way the system is rigged...someone sitting at the top that pulls the strings says "We really want Obama to win how can pull that off?" So Newt goes up in the polls...and no one will vote for him and just like magic Obama WINS! IDK just some crazy thought I had Cheers Coco

I am so with you OP that it is like.... salt and pepper. Gingrich displayed himself during the Clinton administration as child running to the teacher to tell on his peers. He was hideous with his buddy Kenneth Starr to kill Bill Clinton (the one that balanced our budget). This is ATS, so I cannot say exactly what I want to.

Read his book "Why American Exceptionalism Matters" Thats all you need to understand why I said he knows The Constitution and American History. Few know it as well as he does..

It's obviously fictitious. 99% of the comments under the yahoo article were pro ron paul and anti newt Gingrich. They are pulling out all the stops to slow the paul campaign train.

And where did he come from? He has been off the main political radar for years. All of a sudden he's leading the polls.

Im not bitchy . I do think a candidate ( even one you don't like ) should know the Constitution. Or you can re elect good ole' Barack. Do you want me to start a thread ? I will . Bring a lunch. You have your work cut out for you if we are talking American History and foundations
