Perhaps ... but I just happen to know him.

It's actually somewhat unfair to state that someone is an ATS member in this context cause in many ways attempts of identification are going to detract from the fundamental issues he is running upon ... probably would have been better to depersonalize it and simply discuss the idea of a very young man trying to engage the system and what ATS members may or may not think of what he is doing and what he stands for.

In any case, (for the little it's worth) for as long as I've known him he's been an honest and stand up person .... which is more that can be said of most of the folks representing us at the moment.

Well tell him to expose himself. I have a lot of people on my friends list, and many of them I actually disagree with but they argued with me in a fair and proper manner so I friend them for that reason.

Why do you get to know and the rest of us don't?

Let's just get him to expose himself, does he not believe in "transparency" of government officials?

We don't expect him to be super-human, we just want to see if he's human at all. Is that too much to ask?
I don't care what his personal opinions on most random things are, but I do care what his political policies and goals are. And I care about what he plans on doing to pursue and achieve them.

I hope my criticisms will be addressed.

I know who this member is and I say GOOD FOR HIM!

I don't care about his age, we have too many old farts in office now and look at how they run things! We need fresh faces and ideas. We need our generation running things since it it our future! The ones in office now obviously haven't a clue!

Good lucky Ricky!

At the age of 20, one does not have the required experience IMHO.
Is he 20 years old?
You really think thats old enough to hold this position?
Really?

"Experience"?? He "does not have the required experience" you say? And what experience is that?

Oh, you mean political experience as in the usual professional corrupt devilish snakes of no human character experience. Yea, we REALLY need MORE of THAT, eh? NOT!!!!!!

Mayor is traditionally an position of honour performing honourary roles . The council votes the mayor in in this country uk.
You have to think big and start small . Anyone s parish council is a good bet . Start small , ask them for more trees to be planted and see where you get . When they say no space for them , follow that track through . Find the source of the problems and see where he gets it from . Then you want the job of the man who tells him ...

Just a suggestions . Focus on acheivable goals , not the simply desirable ones

You cant argue with ignorance.
And Im not going to start now.
Im not here to get into a pissing match over this.
Remember, he needs to win the peoples vote of his community.
Not the ATS community.

I am pretty sure I figured out who he is now. I won't say his name and I'll let him expose himself I suppose, just to be nice about it.

But after a quick review of his recent posts in the last year or so, I have to say I can't help but shake my head in disappointment.

Pro-vaccination, saying mercury isn't toxic, that we need 'fake food' or else we would die, school isn't indoctrination, etc.

No way in hell I'd support this. It's what we already have in office. Just my opinion on his politics.

If I am wrong about his positions he can correct me personally.

FULL DISCLOSURE!
I want his nick so I can see how he treats folks who are NOT in the same room.
But until we can know who this person really is, forget it.

(Edit)

By the way, now you have branded said candidate as a conspiracy theorist, heck he might even be a good buddy of that kid from Arizona.
I really dunno but you did open the can.

You are correct but, now he has been branded a conspiracy theorist.
If anyone digs for dirt on him...
Well a Google of Ricky Twiggs, Jr. for Mayor lands a number 2 result on the ats board.
Now he is dirty, as nobody seems to like a conspiracy theorist.
Age has nothing to do with it
but an old fart would know not to spill mud on himself.

To the candidate, with age comes wisdom, but greed can be even more powerful.

I don't want to give his nick, since his real name has been given, but I'm like 99% sure I know who it is. If I'm right, he's very respectful of others.

Again, if I'm right about his ATS identity, he is not that much of a "conspiracy theorist" at all. If his potential constituents could read his posts, I doubt they would find any reason to call him crazy. I wouldn't necessarily call him a "debunker" either. He's pretty moderate, mostly normal, I suppose. It seems he doesn't really post about the typical political topics either, not even enough for me to determine what party he would go with, so there's not really anything of that nature for people to use against him.

This thread should probably not have mentioned he is an ATSer at all imo. Now, it's just a tease for people to figure out who he is.

A 20 year old has the capacity to achieve these goals and do the job but it all depends on the maturity and education of the individual. It's not unheard of for someone at the age of 20 to be very capable, If this ATS member is one of these kinds of people then there is no reason why they would not be capable of performing all of the duties required.

I have known a few very wise and intelligent 20 year old's who could do the job in my life, Some people just have their crap together at a younger age.

So it's not impossible but this person is going to have to work very hard for the next 2 years to earn the trust, prove that they can do all sides of the job.

I don't know who it is, although interested to find out, but I guess good luck to them. I don't think the age thing is a massive issue. Just look back at Alexander the Great and Genghis Khan, both had conquered nations by their mid twenties. I'm not saying RT will be doing the same, just pointing out what young people can be capable of.

I have always liked the idea of getting involved in politics, but have way too many skeletons in the cupboard. Fox news would have a field day.

smart choice not revealing his ats identity. his opponents might use his views on reptilians against him.

Dont want to offend anyone here but personally im thinking 20 is quite young for a position such as this. of course someone so young can be very intelligent and mature, but someone of this age would also lack life experience (which is very important).

Thinking back to myself at that age (which was some time ago)... In my mind, i knew it all.. but in reality..oh how naive I really was.
Also the fact he is a psychology student has little to do with it. It takes many years of studying and experience to become competent within this field and even then you are learning new things every day, most of that actually comes from day to day experience working with people rather than anything one would learn from a text book.

And muzzleflash, you make some very good points in your first post and you are correct to bring up the favourite books of said member, it does say alot.. Having read all of them (except body language, as it could be any book on body language) have to be honest and say these type of books although interesting and informative, are very basic level stuff, more aimed at your average joe on a mainstream level rather than someone proficient within the field psychology. For example Tricks Of The Mind is written by Derren Brown, although a very talented man, it is aimed at a mainstream audience. (and some parts of that book are questionable)

Maybe my assumption is incorrect, everyone is different. would be very interested in discovering who said member is, look at his profile here and assess it for myself.. if someone wanted to u2u me, id be very grateful and promise not to reveal the information on here or to anyone else..

I'm sure a couple of members will come here to shoot down any hope we can muster up.

A lot of members here are that way.

Not sure their mentality.

Too late, the campaign has started and this candidate has already made a terrible blunder to his carreer.
This website we call ATS is "fringe" for the most part and that allows folks to criticize and berate any of the information.
So, unless you were say just a person who hangs out strictly in the cooking/foods forum, (hint hint MODS) you may catch flack for being here.
Many people speak alot of evil on an "anonymous" website as the chances of someone knocking on your door or checking your backstory are fairly slim. (except maybe not ATS'ers
)
I would love to take someone's advice that "sure, he's prolly an ok guy" but, NO.
I have 2 people in this world who I would trust anything without question, other than my dogs anyway.
For the rest, I will need PROOF.
Like I said, can of worms is open and without FULL DISCLOSURE, said candidate cannot be trusted.
Rest assured, if I ever run for an office, I'll open my life to the public.
Seeing is how I'm done doing any form of service unless it involes my wife, family or dogs, I'm not running any time soon.

But for me, my ATS message is pretty much, I love cooking, I want folks to not get so worked up and enjoy life, and I want the world to remember 1 dark day in US history, that's my agenda in a nutshell, ok I'm a jerk too but my wife and dogs love me!!
So, to the candidate, unmask yourself, I wanna see how you troll.

There is a rising tide of cynicism that has become a corrosive to the debate. it seems some want to hold back others, just because they have lost hope.

After reading through this thread, it seems like many people here know each other or are friends. I don't know anyone here and wondered how you guys seems to be friends. Is it purely on the forums or is it through the chat room, which never works for me

Back on topic, good on ya for trying to make a change
although I get the feeling someone of your age will not be taken seriously within the world of politics. If you do make it, please don't sell out and sell your soul as many of these politicians do.

they said we will never vote like that again
. When Barry took office I said the country will be sorry they let a college kid run this great country and now we all are ...
