Hitler Was a Socialist!!!

In another thread, my avatar seemed to spark an interesting debate, not quite on topic with the thread however. I think one worthy of it's own thread. Hitler was a Socialist!!!

Yes, it's too bad that one only needs to visit wikipedia to see the truth of such a controversial figure as Hitler.

He was a facist, communist, dictator, catholic, racist, german, and much more.

So, the question is, who cares if Hitler was a socialist? It says nothing about socialism. Just like it says nothing about Germans.

Actually, what Wikipedia says is that Hitler was a member of the National Socialist(Nazi) Party in Germany. However, this is merely a name of a party. Ideologically, the Party was anti-Marxist and anti-Communist; which means it was anti-Socialist. It was named as it was named, implying the opposite, because at the time of its formation Communism was gaining significant popularity throughout the region and naming it such, implying it was a ideologically socialist party, was an effort to fool the ignorant.

Therefore, because the party that Hitler was the leader of was inherently anti-Socialist, ideologically, Hitler was anti-Socialist.

If you want to argue that because the name of the party implied socialism in the ideology it followed, we can argue that the Chinese are Republicans; after all, they are the People's Republic of China...

You can research it yourself.

Jesus always talked about how it was a curse to be rich. How everyone should give their money to the poor and charities and live frugally. How the pursuit of money (Capitalism essentially) corrupted and made men unable to come to god.

Oh, and he provided free education, healthcare, and even at times food to anyone around him.

There's no certain scripture "Verily I say unto you today, I am a socialist". However, all the principles he believed in, and his actions, that could be related the the economic system, all pointed to him having the similar ideals of socialism.

Though again, Ad Hominem. That doesn't say anything Good about socialism. Look at what it is to judge it's merit, not irrelevant judging of the characters who believed in it, usually irrelevant to their morality.

Ok anti-communist I can understand as they opposed the communist force of Russia, however I can not seem to find anywhere that he was anti-marxist and opposed the system we know as socialism today. Nazi Germany was text book socialism, I beg you to show me how it was any different.

Whether he was a socialist is up for debate. He more closely resembles a neoconservative and he was a fascist.
What is for certain is that he was NOT the type of socialist that the right leaning people and organizations like FOX want to attribute to him. Fascism is against several types of socialism (liberal socialism and communism). So what is for certain is that Hitler was in fact far right.
