Not that I believe that the Iranian government is worth a damn, but it is hilarious to read people from western countries telling other countries to play by international rules. Exactly what was legal about the Iraq war, or NATO running into Libya?
The US, Israel, and Europe, run by elitist banking scum, piss all over the "rules" that are in place and have done so for years.
Cut the BS.
Deal with one issue at a time. No distraction by dragging historical bagges or unrelated events to the current issue, and then only will we find solutions to the problem at hand.
Iran had just moved another chess piece. Be cool, be proactive, not reactive, or we will only be foolishly playing to their tune or tune set by others.

The link I posted saying there were no hostages was our Foreign Secretary on a live feed. The hostages were 'trapped' - trapped is not the same as kidnapped.
18.03 William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, says all embassy staff and their families are safe and accounted for and accuses Iran of a "grave breach" of the Vienna convention, which protects diplomats. He says Iran faces "serious consequences" for allowing the attack to go ahead.
Britain has warned of “serious consequences” after angry mobs stormed the UK embassy compound in Tehran. Scores of protesters smashed windows, hurled petrol bombs, trashed offices and burned the British flag during a rally to protest against sanctions imposed by the UK. One man waved a framed picture of Queen Elizabeth.

TBH - I can't say I blame them.
You can't blame them?
Well I frigging well can!
Exactly what has the UK done to justify that?
I wonder what your reaction would have been if some British 'students' attacked the Iranian embassy in protest at Iran's continued support of terrorism?
ETA.
Just seen the news that hostages have been taken.
We should expel all Iranian diplomats immediately and send in the SAS as soon as they are ready.

(Reuters) - An Iranian news agency reported that six people working at the British embassy's compound in northern Tehran had been taken hostage on Tuesday, but withdrew the report from its website minutes later with no explanation.
The semi-official Mehr news agency initially said: "Students from universities in Tehran took hostage six people working for the British embassy in Qolhak garden," referring to the leafy compound that protesters stormed earlier on Tuesday.

“Iran’s military doctrine is strictly defensive designed to slow an invasion and to force a diplomatic solution to hostilities. Iran has only limited capacity to project force beyond its borders....
....Iran’s nuclear programme, and its willingness to keep open the possibility of developing nuclear weapons, is a central part of its deterrent strategy.”
'Seven years ago one of Israel’s leading military historians ,Martin van Creveld , wrote that the world has witnessed how the Unites States attacked Iraq for, as it turned out, no reason at all, had the Iranians not tried to build nuclear weapons they would be crazy. Particularly when they’re under constant threat of attack by the United States of course in violation of the UN Charter
And them sanctions have been imposed for a reason.
They have failed to follow international law despite repeated requests and opportunities to comply.
If the Iranian people don't like it I suggest they take it up with those who caused the need for sanctions - their own leaders!

If Iran were to get anywhere close to loading a nuke it would be vaporised - simple as that.
What about North Korea? That damned place has demonstrated that if you carry the threat of a nuclear deterrent the US and its lackeys leave you alone!!!
"under international law, including the Vienna Convention," the Iranian government has "a clear duty to protect diplomats and Embassies in their country
