The universe could be flooding with alien lifeforms, but that dosent mean they are able or even willing to travel lightyears to get to our tiny planet in middle of nowhere.

As of now it does not even seem possible travel anywhere near light speed. Even our fastest propolsion systems would use tens of thousands of years to reach the closest star.

You have proved NOTHING. And this post shows you know absolutely nothing either about the possibilities of life out there.

Right now we barely have the ability to even find planets in other solar systems, so how the heck do you think we would be able to find life with current technology?

In fact there might even be simple lifeforms in our own solar system, but we dont know yet since we havent properly looked yet. Several moons of saturn and jupiter has been shown to most likely have LIQUID WATER OCEANS underneath the ice, but still we havent even sent a probe.
Mars has been found to have had a much thicker atmosphere and liquid oceans on SURFACE, so that means there is a chance it actually was habitable for life some millions of years ago and might still even today possess very simple lifeforms underneath the surface.

You cant find proof when we havent properly looked yet.

You may have your own explaination for this, but the fact is, neither cavemen nor egyptian tribes could built such a structure as The Great Pyramids of Giza without help. Not then and not now. Do your own simple research.

so i just believe you are simply not documented on the subject ( ignorant, given you ignore ) and you just wanted to start a controversial post by using the word proof in capital letters...

No engineer I have seen on TV or talked to in real life ever dispute the fact that given enough manpower and time, we can indeed build a pyramid as imposing as the ones in Egypt.

When we hear ion TV that it can't be done, we hear the opinion of someone who says that with HIS knowledge and HIS machinery HE can't do it.

Others might have pointed this out, but that has never stopped me before...

First off, you can count me in the group that is 100% sure that we haven't contacted aliens. Having said that:

You mention how our tech should be picking up evidence if they've been here, but the fallacy you make in this case (as do a lot of people) is the implication that Earth must be the most advanced civilization in the Universe. Thus, if we can't find them, they surely don't exist. And their is no chance alien tech could hide them from view from our tech.

As to the idea of aliens existing at all, it is (basically) mathematically impossible that no other life exists in the Universe. At the same time, it is (basically) mathematically impossible that we've actually had contact with them. Going back to the tech issue, think about how long we've had tech that might detect life elsewhere. It's an extremely small window. For example, say that we've only been able to detect radio waves since 1930. That means that we have had the ability for 81 years. Any signal sent before those 81 years wouldn't be detected. In other words, say that aliens have been trying to reach us for 500,000 years... that means that there would have been 499,919 years (out of 500,000 years) where it was impossible for contact to happen.

(Before it is mentioned, yes, I understand that my first point,about how aliens might have superior tech to us makes that statement by me a bit less straightforward, as maybe the aliens have tech that does allow them to have been able to reach us at some time of that 500,000 years.)

So, recap:
mathematically, no we haven't had contact.
mathematically, there is no way that they don't exist.

For argument sake, lets say they DID exist, why is it that we always see a stupid looking photo with a dot on it and not the actual thing? We have great technology here on earth, they can't seem to capture one proper photo or video (100% of them are fake anyway) Why is it that the Alien fanatics believe they do exist and try to believe so deeply? I am really curious about that question, so please do explain. This OP is one reason why I generally avid any title that claims 'Proof' of anything. not only that, but it would seem to violate the ATS rules by simply being purposely misleading. You offer rpoof of nothing. Your argument is just a a very loosely, poorly stated opinion and then titled to drag the unsuspecting member in to then engage them in an argument.

Unfortunately, this is almost, by definition, what trolling is all about.

Believe me there is smoking gun proof of extra-terrestrials here on earth, the powers of this world seemingly have done everything possible to keep this under wraps because they fear an enormous social disturbance if it were ever to be acknowledged that alien life does exist and that they are actively engaging the human race. Just think of all the fundamentalist Christians that believe humanity is god's one and only special creation at the center of the universe, imagine if tomorrow they were told "there's at least 4 groups of aliens engaging earth and several different species of intelligent life", they would lose their sense of reality and their identity instantly, and who knows what they would do.

We humans for the most part can't even accept each other for differences in skin color and speech, how much greater would this xenophobia be toward an extra-terrestrial race that looks nothing like us? There would be major "social disturbances", and that's why your not getting any official acknowledgement any time soon, but the phenomena is real and it does exist, I'm thoroughly convinced of that.
