And if the Lasers don't work...

Is plan B the "Alan Parson's Project"?

Always interesting if new technologies will be displayed during these hostilities.

It certainly is serving as a timeful distraction.

I'm with you

Fire the lasers!

world wars were started over less (franz ferninand)

i've said a million times this is military alliances doing what military alliances do, they scope each other out until the inevitable first shot then the war happens and new lines are drawn.

NATO-Israel vs. SCO/Iran/Syria/NK and their proxies.

it may start in syria or iran but it will spread like a wildfire if it does.

It's an EXTREMELY dangerous missile. Read the specs on it from the link in the OP; it's supersonic, traveling at more than Mach 2 and it switches off its radar 45 miles from the target as it skims the ocean surface, making it for all intents and purposes invisible.

I can't believe it's already 5:20. I need to get some rack time if I don't want bags under my eyes when I start taping the show tomorrow.

*Why do we still refer to it as "taping?" I haven't shot video on tape for 10 years.

Nighty ATS.

So is it thought to be able to get past CIWS?

While in the Navy, I remember hearing a story about CIWS when they were doing some training and a plane was towing a target. After the target was destroyed, the CIWS started to chew up the tow line toward the plane until they shut it off... Pretty impressive accuracy considering the size of a tow line and it being a mile away. But I was a sub guy so I never saw one in action...

My thoughts exactly. Why on earth would the leader of a revolution give an interview to somebody on a conspiracy website. There are literally hundreds of thousands of people around the world with far more influence on syrian politics. Why waste what little opportunity you have on conspiracies.........nah sorry. My suspicions are getting every more confirmed about "The truth is viral".

Instead of having wars, the leaders should just all duke it out and see who is world leader.... I bet Putin would destroy everyone have you SEEN the stuff he put out?? Or the quiet man standing in the corner Kim Jong could be quite as bad lol.

This is all Americas fault. I'm sorry but it is. The biggest army in the world throwing around threats to other countries then when one stands up to them SANCTIONS. Then now we need to go in!! Although having Israeli lips in your ears all day MUST be quite the pain.

I have no clue as to what's going on so I'll let the people who do know (on here, not the politician liars) inform me more. But when I hear explosions I'm coming on here, like so many will saying I told you so I told you so.

I would not even be surprised if the snipers littering Syria that have this faces covered are actually foreign snipers sent in to create a quagmire for the al-Assad regime.

Exactly.

Don't forget what the CIA did in Venezuela nearly a decade ago. They pushed for a military coup against the socialist-leaning Chavez, and held him captive for about two days before they had to release him back to his millions of supporters who took to the streets.

And what happened during this time? Western media was reporting that Chavez had snipers on rooftops shooting civilians. The fact is that the Western media was spouting nothing but propaganda. They modified images and fabricated video to turn the truth completely around in some instances. I remember watching one documentary about it where they showed the media photo of one of Chavez's supposed "snipers", describing him as shooting into a crowd off of a bridge. The documentary then provided the unedited photo of this showing that where the crowd was supposed to be, was actually empty streets and the shooter was actually an anti-Chavez fighter.

Here's part of the documentary (I think the rest is on Youtube). I don't know where the exact photo discussion is at, but the whole documentary is worth watching to anyone interested in learning how "democratic" revolutions backed by the US really are all about.

You haven't seen my show have you? It's a news analysis show featured on the front page of ATS every week. Where have you been?

Should I take this as seriously as the Elenin disaster crud you enthusiastically proclaimed would happen when I took you to task on it about a month ago? You blew your credibility there man... To paraphrase, we were to mark your words. It doesn't matter if you have something on the ATS front page or not IMHO. This should be taken with extreme scepticism.

There are other sources stating that Russia has supplied Yakhonts to Syria, even suggesting this transaction happened months ago. Question is, who cares? Is Syria not allowed to obtain weapons that could provide useful in defending itself? US didn't seem to mind forcing Iraq to disarm its most capable weapons before they invaded it (and even secretly bombed it for months during this disarmament while the UN turned and looked the other way).

I am suspicious of the OP's claims to be talking to some leader of the Syrian opposition though. CIA much?

Sceptical1 Dont think Russia gives a deep sh.t about Syria really!

Also, in my view, in this day and age, I think the Super Powers are more friendly behind closed doors than you might think.

Russia would not interfere re: Syria, just as US wouldnt interfere in Georgia.

Russia know that Assads a long streak of "turd"

It is my view that Russia and US will step back and watch this one play out with a daily phone con between the P"s!!!

I'm not sure I agree with you there.

With all the tensions throughout the world I would have thought potential allies would be cherished.

Saakashvili provoked Russia at the behest of NATO. He assumed that he was close enough with NATO that they would come to his aid and fight the Russians, starting WWIII. Why else did he specifically target ethnic Russian civilians and Russian peacekeepers?

The US didn't intervene because, for one, Georgia does not have a strategic military alliance with the US and secondly, the US was more interested in observing the operational ability of the Russian forces.

In the end, Saakashvili ate his own tie because of his incompetence. Literally, he chewed down on his tie.

Go to 1 minute in and watch. This is what political puppets do when they get nervous.

I suspect this is just grandstanding and chestpuffing by Russia - US and Europe have very little interest or appetite for getting involved in Syria - Russia has a big interest in seeming to be tough though! - not to mention egging on Iran to think that they (russia) are on the verge of hostilities with the US.

One country that should definately be taken seriously is Russia, especially a Russia with Putin pulling the strings behind the scenes, perhaps Obama has been "advised" that post Glasnost era Russia carries nowhere near the threat that it did during its Soviet era heyday, perhaps he ought to look at Russian fleet and airpower dispositions, especially Russia's formidable Hunter killer sub fleet one of which could certainly park over 100 miles from the George HW Bush and unleash its supersonic ship killer missiles.
This isn't Libya this is a highly trained and heavily armed nation,so let's hope that sense prevails here.

I've seen a lot of posts stating that Russia will back down and that this is just saber rattling.

I don't think so. Russia is getting sick & tired of the US trying to dictate how the World should run and many other Countries are feeling the same way.

Still got a bad feeling about all this. Russia is NOT the Country to Pi$$ off.

Here lies my problem..

The US should be getting sick and tired of Russia always selling missles and other destructive devices to every single country that goes up against the US. Iran, Syria, North Korea...

Who are the REAL bad guys here???

Iran wants to blow Israel off the map
Syria wants to blow Israel off the map
North Korea wants to blow South Korea off the map...

Russia = Evil Bully purposly trying to get over the US... After All the money we gave those bastards, after pulling them out of their hell while forgiving a massive debt they owe us... This is how they repay us....

Well, if a war takes place, I see Russia being directly responsible.

But this is not because of Russia, This is because of Western influence in said countries that is anti other said countries.

This is about much more than Syria, and/or Iran for that matter.

The ultimate flash-point will most likely be over the European missile defense shield, all of these small conflicts in the ME are a very old contest between Russia and the west over who can gain the most influence in the region.

The Russians are being provoked this time.

Decades of peace and co-operation between the USA and Russia are about to be vaporized, and the world brought closer again than ever before to a nuclear war.

But hey, it's never too late for both sides to stand down, and say "lets talk, make a deal" ... Think that will happen this time?

If not, I suggest building your bunkers now, and preparing for survival.
