While I doubt you're right, the idea is so "plausible" I starred you. By this I don't mean it passes with flying colors. What I mean instead is that it's more likely than Santa Claus being real.

Also because of the history. I, for example, didn't know they commissioned u-boats in 1906. See, I'm not a war buff and don't know these kinds of things, mostly. It's a history lesson.

Of course, I am not giving your conspiracy any weight. Just thought it was interesting.

Nice post.

I think the OP at least brought us a history lesson. That's worth a star.

If somebody had said Santa Claus sunk Titanic, this thread wouldn't be 30+ pages long.

Perhaps the impact of the exploding german torpedo caused the titanic to suddenly lose its steering, veer sharply off course and inadvertently sail straight against a nearby iceberg?

...riiiight. Except that all the witnesses talked about just the one impact, and that was from the iceberg. Oh and the stern of the Titanic shows no sign of damage. Plus that would mean that the ship was hit in both the stem and the stern - which would mean that she would sink on an even keel, not prow-first. So no.

There was no forward impact with an iceberg, the titanic (supposedly) side swiped and scraped against an iceberg as the ship sailed too close alongside it,the ship never crashed headlong into anything and that happening as a result of being struck by a german submarine launched torpedo, causing the ship to lose its steering, veer sharply and suddenly off course and sail against a nearby iceberg,is imo,a perfectly reasonable theory...

That exploding torpedo also explains the explosion heard by some onboard, who unknowingly and mistakenly thought it was the ships boilers rupturing and knowing that those people most likely never heard a massive boiler rupturing before, how would they know for sure thats what they heard?

Titanic scraped against the side of the iceberg, resulting in the first five of its internal compartments being opened to the sea. This caused it to sink, as we all well know. I did not claim that it hit head on, as you can read from my post. The first five comparements are in the pointy end of the ship. That's front by the way. There is no evidence in any way shape or form of any explosion, or any torpedo, or indeed any submarine. It is not a reasonable theory, it is an absurd, unsubstantiated theory. You have 0% proof for it. You have been defeated again and again and again, to the point where the giggling in the background is getting very loud indeed.

Speaking as someone with a degree in history I have to ask what on earth you're going on about. There is no 'strictly enforced' version of history (unless of course you're talking about the history that's taught in North Korea, where any suggestion that any of the Kims wasn't a genius will get you a lovely vacation in a labour camp). History constantly changes as we discover new things about it.
I notice by the way that you are once again attempting to hide the fact that your entire theory doesn't have a leg to stand on.

No country has ever told its own people the whole truth about anything, just warped and twisted versions of history, half truths and total lies that are force fed to a gullible public...

The german U17 submarine was state of the art technology and was surely built in secrecy, just like our latest state of the art airplanes are built without the knowledge of the mainstream public and our U2 Spy Planes, SR 71 Blackbirds and B2 Bombers, among others, were all being built and flown around long before the public was made aware of their presence...

and so the german submarine U17 could have, without any doubt, been secretly launched for a secret mission,a few days or a week before its publicly acknowledged launching, which was amazingly just a couple of days before the titanic sank and the overwhelmingly vast majority of people would have known nothing about what was really going on...

No. You continue to show your massive ignorance about basic shipbuilding. You canot launch something and then have it sail the next week, other than a dinghy. A submarine, when launched is a hollow shell. It needs to have its machinery installed, and that takes months. So no, your theory is still worthless. And can you please address my facts - U-17 was NOT state of the art, the British launched something similar a year before. I have facts. You have increasingly silly speculation that displays your own ignorance. ADDRESS MY FACTS.

This is perhaps the most hushed up and suppressed conspiracy of the twentieth century? A german submarine attacked and sank the titanic...Wow...

Still not addressing my facts I see. How brave of you. Oh wait, not. So no, not suppressed or hushed up - a non-existent conspiracy because it didn't happen.

If you perceive the fact that i'm able to stand my ground, while defending my view points for hundreds of posts,no matter how long,as trolling, then, whatever and why are you even bothering to say anything within this thread?

I confirm my views as well.

A torpedo sank the Titanic.

Too many coincidences to think otherwise.

History books are written by victors with agendas.

Even the BEST conspiracy theories don't question that Titanic hit an iceberg. The idea that it might later have been torpedoed to finally sink it is interesting, but as the topic says, highly speculative.

Now the Lusitania, on the other hand ....... you are correct. Also correct about the idea that it was probably carrying a large amount of munitions as well as just passengers. There is also speculation it was carrying a large amount of gold. It is also theorized that it was not an "accident" as portrayed by the time in the media, but instead was a deliberate sinking of a munitions ship masquerading as carrying passengers.

However, I believe if Titanic had of been torpedoed, there would be significant damage to the hull supporting the theory, which simply isn't there.

Nice, well thoughout out speculation though

By the time people actually located the titanics wreck and went down to view it with cameras and their own eyes,so many decades of salt water erosion and metal decay and corrosion had taken their toll,a lot of torpedo evidence that may have been there, would have been forever altered,or lost altogether and what originally started sinking the titanic, was a hole in the hull only a few feet across...
