Obamanomics Doomed to FAILURE! Socialism Simply Does Not WORK

I have to share the following as it makes very clear the fundamental problem with Obamha's socialistic policies, and why socialism will always FAIL to work (only have to look at Europe to see the socialism failures there).


An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read and all applicable to this experiment:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.

4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!

5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Can you think of a reason for not sharing this? Neither could I.

Yeah well, obviously neither does Corporatism, so where does that leave us because we are no longer a democracy and obviously no longer......."Free".

You fellows are very big on this Socialist business with obama . Can you explain to me what is different there that could possibly equate to a socialist policy .

What are these socialist policies that Obama has introduced EXACTLY .

From what I understand from my american friends that you already seem to have in place a good social security arrangement that pays better for a wide range of things that we in socialist Australia dont have .
The new health care system that your current administration introduced is not a good socialist model if it makes everyone by health insurance . That is not socialist in my books .

Please explain .

As long as success is measured by material wealth, Socialism will never work... Except for in the three "happiest" places in the world...
I am very pro capitalism (not corporatism) and very anti socialism in my political views, but that is only because I am a pessimist when it comes to my views on the general populace's moral fiber. I would love to see something like The Venus Project come to fruition, but people in general are simply way too greedy to make that a reality. I certainly think however, that communalism (not communism) with shared income and resources, is a beautiful idea, and doesn't do anything to take away any personal freedoms, as every person who joins said intentional community, is there by choice, because they truly believe in egalitarianism.

Most of those 5 premises are false: they are simply conservative mythology. Making assertions without proof doesn't make them valid.

Redistributing wealth does create prosperity if the people you are redistributing it from are using it to gamble and buy 5 homes and bigger yachts, and the ones you redistributing it to are using it to start businesses and invent useful things.

The arrogance of the wealthy, super-wealthy, and their supporters is appalling. Their claim is that no one who is currently poor has the capacity to contribute to the economy because if they did, they'd be rich like them already.

Most of those arguments are of the strawman variety, and simply don't hold up to even cursory examination.

What most of the poor lack is access to capital, not ambition, drive, inventiveness or the willingness to work hard. The lack of those traits is most often found in those who let their money work for them in the gambling casinos of the stock markets, instead of actually doing anything productive for society.

When one analyzes Obama's pratice with regard to business and the military it is impossible to mistake that he is a fascist and not socialist. Socialism is just the old reliable opiate to deaden the minds of the masses.

correction: Obama is just a puppet. America is fascist and any president will be expected to tow that line or be Kennedy-ed.

Agreed, and they are both issues that people worldwide need to find a solution or alternative to.

Apparent corporate GREED is what's creating so much frustration for the lower & middle classes, but it's only been made possible by GOVERNMENT. The problem is that this greed is not being TAXED or curtailed appropriately, and the ones being penalised are those that are in work, as well as small to medium businesses, that aren't in the RICH CLUB.

Unfortunately the answer will never be socialism, unless you eventually want the '1984' version, as that's where it will eventually lead?

Governments shipping jobs off to China, India etc, is where things start going wrong, but consumerism and people living beyond their means, is as much to blame, so remember that YOU are probably just as much responsible for the failures, and current state most of us are finding ourselves in.

Of course OWS is now being used to DIVIDE to lower & middle classes, where the focus should have been 100% on corporate greed and Govt corruption.

The main point of the post and what it contains is that though this is a very simple example; trying to 'equalize' everyone, at the expense of the achievers, then you get exactly what happened in that classroom.

Prime example I see in our education system, where the above has being slowly implemented over the last 20 or so years. In sports you see/hear it as well: EVERYONE'S A WINNER...there are no LOSERS! I mean if you are good at a sport, finish in first place yet are given no more accolade than the 20 people that finished behind you, why bother even trying to win?

By teaching children at an early age that we are all 'equal', you're creating your WANT WANT NEED NEED mindset. Hello OWS!

Europe isn't failing because of socialism. For one, they aren't socialist. They are more socialist than the US, but they are far from a socialist society. China is a socialist country....and they seem to be doing pretty successful.

2nd and maybe most importantly:
Europe is failing because most of the countries have hated each other for centuries. They've been at war so many times that historians have lost count. They don't agree on anything.

3rd: Obama hasn't done anything to install socialism here.
Despite Fox News mindlessly repeating "Obama is trying to take your guns so he can install socialism"
He's only passed 2 bills that actually increased gun owners rights...
and he's done nothing to install socialism. He's not a socialist.

I would agree with that, i.e. deficiency of our education system.

But what you describe here is not socialism unless you choose to call it that.

PEOPLE! Just because they claim it's socialism, doesn't mean IT IS socialism! True socialism can, and does work. It's just like how half of AMERICA believes they live in a democratic country......Or how Nazi Germany (National Socialism) was really a fascist state.

Very well said! That professor needs a raise immediately!

The proof that this is true is the fact that the people calling for socialism in the US are the people who will benefit - liberal politicians who will gain more power as a result and citizens who are lower wage earners.

It’s obvious that wealth redistribution will completely remove all incentive to strive for success and be self reliant. Why bother when you’ll make the same no matter how hard you work??

addendum:

Many corporations don't pay taxes, many actually get paid billions in taxes. Not a single one pays the 35% tax due to all the loopholes their lobbyists have enacted over the years.

Asking for corporations to pay their fair share isn't socialism.
