yea she's lying, but what is the point in harping about how ugly she is? Plenty of ugly men and women bang each other everyday.

Furthermore, if she is ugly she can't help it. Harp on her for something she can help, like oh...being a liar maybe?

WHO BENEFITS?

When this story caused tempers to flare in the streets, possibly leading to violence. Who benefits?

When this girl is found to be lying and by association OWS is discredited. Who benefits?



ALONE or CONSPIRACY?

Is she acting alone?

Was she co-opted/blackmailed?



IMO all other questions are meaningless.

I vote to keep meaningless arguing to a minimum until we have some facts.

Also, someone in Seattle should volunteer to follow up on this and find out if she benefits financially from her lies. If so, follow the money.

This will determine if this is a psy-op or if it's just a lying citizen.

And? Her life is already ruined. She lives on the street. What are you trying to destroy? You want to go over there and tell her how ugly she is? She's probably heard all her life. Either way harping on about people being ugly just shows you are an uncreative insulter. If you are ugly you are just an unlucky soul who crapped out in the genetic lotto. It's not your fault.

As if the cops would have done anything about it anyway. They can beat people to death and get immunity. They were never in any danger.

I actually believed what I said about the lying issue being fairly well examined. I certainly didn't intend to derail the thread, just ask a question which wasn't being dealt with.

That's what raised the question in my mind. It seemed like a legitimate opening to me. I won't draw any of the references from the other thread because those posters are

I don't have any ulterior motives, I was just scratching a curiosity itch and thought I'd ask.

OK, I may have been a bit out of line with you, and I apologize.

I simply don't want this thread to degenerate into the squabble that the other has. There are more important questions to be asked here than if it's OK to hit a girl.


And I don't think I'm being harsh on others. Go read the other thread and tell me that there is anything but petty bickering going on. People have lost the forest for the trees and the root of this issue will never come to light if delving questions are buried by simple arguing that is based on speculation, not fact.


Why not start a "Is it OK to hit girls?" thread if you want your question answered.

She's not going to get any money (from a lawsuit) because she is lying. However, she may benefit financially if she was not acting alone and she has pleased her paymasters. Let's wait for the FACTS.

This was brought up in the other thread but it got swept over by most because it's much more fun to assume that someone is telling the truth when they say the police beat them. Guess I'll take a stroll over there and see all the retractions from people who "knew" it was true when she said it. I bet most of them will reconsider no, not really.

This is my first post on this topic. I had hoped not to post one at all. But my conscious compels me.

Right or wrong, pregnant or not, beating or not; this has made the Occupy movement ugly.

This whole situation is ugly.

Now we have the parents calling foul on their child. Who may have lied.

Is this what you wanted, Occupy supporters?
Is this what you want to represent?

To be honest, if I were an Occupy supporter, I'd be embarressed as hell right about now.

Here we are.

Not talking about unemployment.
Not talking about the economy.
Not talking about the deficit.
Not talking about TSA.

Not everything is a conspiracy. There really are mentally disturbed people out there doing wild things.

If the original lie got this much attention, then the truth is irrelevant now.

It isn't what actually happened, or what the truth is that matters, it is how many people can be convinced that something bad happened here ultimately.

When the police have been so demonized and dehumanized to the point in "occupiers" minds where anything is possible, it will happen... When they no longer see police as humans, just animals, PIGS, evil cowards etc, broken down to only an inhuman obstacle in the way of "the 99%" ... Violence is much more likely, and the lives of police could be taken by these afflicted mobs...

Proceed to the next undesirable level...



Hopefully cooler heads will prevail, and none of this happens.
