OWS now heckeling, following, threatening children???

I don't know exactly what happened outside of what this story "claims". But, regardless of what happened.....

One individuals actions should not be attached to the whole movement. I'M REALLY GETTING SICK OF SEEING TOPICS LIKE THIS ESPECIALLY ON ATS.

ATS is better then this. You only make yourself look desperate to find "SOMETHING/ANYTHING" to hate on. Give me a break. This is child stuff. No pun intended.

At the 00:46 mark of the video, you will see the tall jackass in the green jacket move toward the man who was telling the journalist "They are terrorists". (A completely inane characterization, just like when that exact word was used to describe some Tea Party members) The move toward the man, from behind, is very threatening, made more so by the look on his face. His buddy, the guy in the gray shirt, thought so as well, stepping between tall guy and overdramatic guy.

After that, gray shirt guy, again felt compelled to stop tall guy from approaching overdramatic guy, again in a threatening manner.

Regardless of the validity of the message, jackasses like tall guy are the ones responsible for the distraction. Then, even more distraction is provided by those who blindly and ridiculously defend the jackasses like tall guy.

The whole situation was completely uncalled for and completely avoidable. The protesters - all of them - should have backed away and kept their mouths shut, just long enough for the kids to pass by undisturbed. Why would that be so difficult?

That is a completely ridiculous characterization of the OP and all of his/her follow-up posts. The OP contained a legitimate article, with a video by a MSM outlet.

I feel if you did without prejudice then you would see there is a large gap between what happend and the headline of this thread.

So the OWS movement is now threatening children? Can this claim be substantiated? I would love to hear how.

Yes I did watch the whole video you linked to as well and see NOTHING other than "newscasters" saying it was crowded and an "UNSUBSTANTIATED" claim they yelled "follow those kids". Hell even the child they asked thought it was a parade and when LEAD with the fun scary aspect he says "kind of" scary, jeez my nephew find halloween "kinda" scary, it doesn't mean halloween is threatening children.

Really what in that WHOLE article or video shows heckling, following (yea one shot of a guy saying something to an adult, who just happend to have a kid in tow) or threatening children.

Give me a shred of this claim.

P.S yea I read that first line, its not a quote from anyone from the protest, it would have been if quotes if it was, its actually what the journalist that wrote the article said

By your own admission we know that the OWS person was following the father with his daughter.We also know that the father was walking away while the OWS person followed them ranting about something while the child was hearing it all and no doubt scared.It would seem you don't think there was any reason for the OWS person to consider the child and end his rant in her presence.

That purity much sum's up the mind set of the OWS people, kids are just collateral damage in your eye's I take it, thanks for the input.

Yeah, you know, I didn't shoot the video, so I can't provide anything other than the minute and a half posted by CBS2. But, like all other news stories, I'll have to rely on a certain level of journalistic integrity that the reporter is reporting activity they witnessed themselves, or was witnessed by someone they interviewed.

But, claiming the activity didn't occur, simply because it is not in the obviously edited for brevity, minute and a half video is being totally unfair.

In a perfect world, the station would release the entire unedited footage. If someone has more time than I, you might shoot them an email and ask for it.

By the way, it is very difficult to debate an issue, if you continually move the bar. I addressed what you originally posted to me, then you change the specifics of the debate. Sorry, I don't chase my own tail.

I did watch the CBS videio and it did look like the father was walking away while smoeone was walking after him. What kind of person pursue's someone with a child in a tense situation like this? better yet what kind of person defends it?

Where was the video footage of OWS yelling "follow those kids?" Where was the footage of OWS members kicking and screaming? Where was the footage of anyone besides that one single man following parents and kids and harrassing them? That little clip of footage was one sappy song away from a soap opera clip. Its a very sad attempt to smear OWS. I wasn't aware that parades were scary......

what that reporter was saying and what that video was showing were two completely different things. "shoulder to shoulder" nope, "kicking and screaming" nope. then says the kid was scared are something but his own words and actions seemed to derail that too.

IMO people that like to get loose with the "terrorism" words are usually the ones that like to twist reality.
