BTW it was sarcastic. but it must be a dangerous and hostile environment to Americans since they want to send these guys AND have a Marine carrier group parked in the Thames.. it's not as tho you send assets like strike jets unless there is a chance your going to need/use them, hence why it must be a very dangerous environment.

As a British national my first thoughts after seeing the headline was - Thank God the USA will be here. After previous terror attacks like Atlanta and Munich the more security the better. Britain has been attacked by real terrorists and they will have a go again for sure.

Ewwww save us your drooling admiration (brown-nosing) of the Americans. Thank god the USA will be here? No, it's more like for f**k's sake the USA will be here....throwing their weight around again (no pun intended).

This just seems to go against what Cameron stood for not long ago...remember the riots across the country 'No, no we will NOT deploy the army' ... So now we want to let in armed guards from another country for a sports event AND whatever this is about marines (I'll admit I havn't read anything on that outside of seeing it posted a couple of times in this thread). If we want the army on standby we could have our OWN army on stand-by there is no need for marines unless America is doubting the usefulness of our army.

In which case I guess Britain can pop out of Afghanistan tomorrow Mr Obama? Since we mustn't be doing any good there.

If we really thought we needed more security we could very easily find it within our own police force or army, we don't need foreign support. Yes I am absolutely certain someone will try something, and if there are doubts on the current amount of security then I believe that too, but I don't think we need help to fix it.

And if an American guard killed an innocent British person in some sort of crossfire accident there would be absolute mayhem on the streets. That can be guarenteed, if our own police can't even get away with shooting criminals, what chance do Americans (Who it's popular to not like, whether it's justified or not) have?

Since most of my posts in this thread have been along the lines of being sarcastic I feel the need to continue that theme and just for fun I'll use the article from the epic Daily Fail

U.S. wants own aircraft carrier in the Thames Estuary during Olympics

It is believed the Americans offered a 40,000-ton Wasp class amphibious assault ship, which carries up to 40 Sea Knight helicopters for the ship-to-shore ferrying of marines and equipment, as well as up to 20 Harrier II attack aircraft. It boasts a formidable battery of missiles capable of shooting down airliners in the event of an attempt to copy the 9/11 atrocities.

The 2012 Olympics could be used for a false flag event possibly, to help push through the globalists agenda in some way. TPTB are fond of using high profile events as targets for 'terrorist' attacks...

What is it with all this USA bashing? USA is our friend, they have helped us numerous times in the past century and saved our bacon. Plus I'd rather be with them than against them, it usually turns out easier that way

Only start to worry if the secrity managment is upto a firm run by Jeb or Marvin Bush...

This is starting to stink to high heaven...first the US say's that it's concerned about security, so the UK will put ground to air missiles to guard the games, now they're going to send 1000 US security personel to UK territory because it still isnt enough..

What 500 FBI and 500 BLACKWATER..

I worked as a bouncer for 17 years, in those 17 years i only had to use force against 5 people.
The reason was because my "mentor" when i first started working on the door taught me a golden that rule i never forgot.

"you can hit a different person every night of the year, but then you have to remember 365 faces who one day might attack you out of the blue while you're with your wife and kids, however those 365 people only have one face to remember, YOURS. Dont spend your life looking over your shoulder"

So, YES the US has to be paranoid as it has spent years hitting people, and now has to spend forever looking over its shoulder...sad.
