Yup….The Tea Party does attract an older crowd than OWS because as one gets older they become wiser and more conservative.

Of course you wouldn’t know who attends Tea Party protests because you’ve never been. It’s probably not your style because there are no Molotov Cocktails or trash can burning, and taking a dump on cop cars is frowned upon.

By the way, I’m not old, dude! I’m possibly older than you, definitely wiser than you, but not old.

OWSers: Please fold up your tents, pick up your sleeping bags, CLEAN UP YOUR AREA as you vacate and go home...use all this passion and energy to find and support candidates that espouse your views...OR even better use all this passion and energy in making your hometowns BETTER. Volunteer (if you REALLY can't find a job). Volunteer at hospitals or schools or Boys or Girls Clubs. Help out with food drives or your local Parks & Recreation departments. Clear a trail in a local park. Lay sod for a neighbor. Read to shut ins or the blind.

STOP BEING A PROBLEM and start being a solution to local problems.

Nope! I provided video evidence documenting the conduct of OWS. If you dispute the contents of that video then the burden of proof is yours. Have at it! 

Besides, according to you I'm WAY too old for a wild goose chase of that magnitude.

Unfortunately most won't heed your great advice. Let's face it, those camping there obviously don't have any responsibilities or they wouldn't be there. I know I surely don't have 60 days of vacation. Despite how great the party down there looks, I wouldn't spend the vacation days there if I had them.

I believe the title of the thread and OP are a bit misleading. I was about to comment how I thought it was odd that you had changed your stance on OWS, but after watching the video I realized that your intent was to mislead and use carefully edited videos to imply that the whole of OWS and the actions of select individuals are one in the same.

Is this thread a intentional jab at the other thread that makes an intelligent observation on how OWS and the TP are not that different in it's original intent?

If so, shame on you. If you are going to discredit the movement, do it with facts and not half-assed assertions and edited youtube videos.

Just stopping by. Is your objection that the images are false, or that they generalize from the individual to the many? How many individuals need to be videoed before some conclusions about the movement are possible?

Are the assertions false? Perhaps if they were "full-assed" they would make OWS look worse. Evidence, as you say, is important. How do you know they're false?

I'm a little disappointed (not that that's crucial to anyone) in your approach. It seems to be primarily name calling and dodging. Do you think the video is basically correct? And why do you think that? If it's false, I'd love to see it exposed. If it's true, then there can be a discussion on what it means. But you're not making your argument, or yourself, look as good as possible.

The images on this video in no way implicate the entire Occupy movement and the entirety of it's participants. Have some of these incidents occurred? Yes. Do All of the Occupiers agree with and participate such actions? No

If we are to apply this logic to other youtube videos, we can then assert that ALL TP supporters are racist rednecks that believe Obama is Kenyan anti-Christian that sucks on Saudi "jewels".

I may be wrong here, but it's hard to disprove a negative. Wouldn't it be the responsability of the OP to prove that his assertions are correct?

But according to the OP, these sort of videos are the proof in and of itself. Which leads us to the conclusion I previously laid out about the TP.

I always thought that many TP participants were wrongly labeled by their racist, unintelligent counterparts but you have shown me the error in that thinking and now I must apply the actions of a few TP numbskulls to the whole.

Again this is what's expected on this site.

He's wiser than I.. or so he claims.. this should be easy for him then. The proof is in the pudding.

Then again.. wisdom would dictate you not use a patched together montage video with lord knows how may sources .. as proof or evidence of anything. Just for this exact reason. Once you edit something in such a way... it's no more than an opinion piece.

And quite frankly, this was nothing more than yet another propaganda thread against OWS. Something people like our esteemed op seems to take glee in.

I fear you misunderstood me. (Drat having to be reduced to writing.) I saw two possible objections to the video: 1) they weren't true, or 2) they were overgeneralizations. I was just asking for your opinion, not criticizing or attacking. If I understood you, your position is that the video is true but a few examples can't be generalized to the whole. Fine, I agree.

When I asked about how many needed to be videoed, of course I didn't mean a precise number, but I wanted some sense. If 1000 were needed to condemn OWS (which, I understand has 100,000 protesters or fewer), then 10,000 would be needed to condemn the Tea Party (which has fielded a million, I've heard). Just looking to get a feel for things.

Just a quick thought, is OWS responsible for controlling the people in its site? I don't know.

If you follow the link in the comments of this video, it says this:

This link is not an actual internet site that has the documented proof as stated. It is a link that downloads a quicktime video in which you are asked to "sign the Obama petition".

So contrary to mnmajorityorg's actual statement, there is not documented proof.

If you go to mnmajority.org's website, you learn that they are an anti-non Christian, anti-gay and anti- non Republican group. Their CEO, Dan Mcgrath has even been cited on occasion of advocating breaking the law and ruling of judges for "political" purposes.

McGrath is advising his allies to wear the buttons to the polls. If challenged by an election judge, the voter will then have to make a decision, McGrath said: Take off the button and vote, or vote with it on -- but be aware that you could be eventually charged with a petty misdemeanor.

So the source of the OP's video is a partisan TP hack that hates gays' non-Christians and such. Pretty sad if you ask me.

I like how people point ou all the rapes drugs and what not that happens... Its a f*****g city, there were probably more deaths/rapes/ods in the entire city than at the OWS movement, and people go crazy about it

I'm sure you're right that this is an anti-OWS propaganda thread (depending on what is meant by propaganda). But I think you're being a little too demanding. In the post above yours are two videos of Tea Party members, neither one is sourced, designed to show racism. I'm sure that some of the clips accurately portray Tea Party members, but some don't have any people in them at all, just signs, and some are difficult to associate with racism, such as the one that says "God Bless Glen Beck." I don't see the racism there.

But I'm willing to say that some Tea party members (I don't know any) show racism. I also want to know how the Tea Party is reacting to them, supporting them or disowning them. How public is their reaction? Are they saying to the press "We want nothing to do with ...?" We should also know what the official position of the group is.

It seems reasonable to expect the same from OWS. "We have violent people" "We have people committing indecent exposure." Etc. Etc. But then "We don't want them around, that's not who we are, we'll take any steps including using the police to purge criminals from our ranks." Etc. Etc.
