"Propaganda", what do you expect what means?

To "ME" mean it means that Main Stream Media wants to show the people what is important to them and not to the public. Main Stream Media wants to keep us in the dark.

When you go over seas, or other News websites, or Blog websites like ATS (this is were I get my news from now), you get a different picture of what is really going on, and the website Media isn't going to cover it up as you would from Main Stream Media.

People don't like to be lied to and this, younger generation is figuring out how to "undermine" MSM. Which in fact is undermining us as a people.

You've only got to see some of the claims made in the last 50 years to know this

The rest of the world has known for a long time that what Americans are lead to believe and what actually happens/ happened can be two very different things.

It's not that they want to force-feed people propaganda, it's that the internet is being abused by people and this artificial environment is isolating us from the real world. People have a tendency to ignore responsibility and to believe what they read on faith and to block out conflicting information. This is a hindrance to the free flow of FACTS. You see, originally, the internet was used by scientists and the military for a noble cause. But then the internet became a sensation and grew like fire for entertainment uses. The internet has helped us to move around information, in general, but now it has become a circus that's dumbing down the population.

Where you're wrong is in assuming that free flow of information means a free flow of FACTS.

In a similar way, our computer and indoor lifestyle is making people obese.

What if we allowed kids to do what they wanted at school? My guess is the school would be burnt down within a few days and the kids would be burning books to cook marshmallows. The internet is not much different. Probably 99% of it is bunk and/or porn-related.

The internet is too free and too tempting for people to abuse it, basically. It's like a library with piles of unorganized books. It's like a book that mixes fact and fiction. It's like a dream.

We have to make it harder for people to ignore/block FACTS.

This modern world is good in many ways but it's bad in others. We have to keep all this in mind.

So true. False information and scare mongoring on the net has actually caused deaths because people haven't recieved treatment going on what they've read on the net. There's been a trend in Australia of teens disobeying parents because they're reading false information on the net that it's against the law for parents to send their kids to their rooms as it's false imprisonment. They've called the police and received a rude shock when the police have given them a dressing down and told them the facts. And then been grounded longer by their parents

I don't think there should be total control on what we can view but there does need to be a catagory of sites such as "Everything on this site is fact" or "Everything on this site is not proven to be true" or google say should develope a search engine which will send you to a truth site. And you can ask your questions there.

Down right malicious sites stating things like" vaccines will kill you" should just be up there with child porn and banned.

OP you use some Russian website to drill home Hillary Clinton's point that the US is losing an information war...and somehow it didn't occur to you that by using such a site--by promoting its ideology--you're only bolstering her position? Are you being intentionally obtuse? I don't get it.

Hey There Exploder, with all humble respects, this is an older article, and your title is misleading.
As, The United States of America is losing the "Propaganda War,"would be more accurate.

This fact should be of less concern to Washington D.C. , and of more concern to the Networks.
In fact, as this might be a fright to the "Network" Owners/Shareholders, it should not really be a concern to
the "Dangerously Close to The Truth" Journalists. This may be the opportunity for them to Actually
perform their art with accuracy. I will tell you a secret, The ratings scale that the networks are using
is obsolete. Yet instead of restructuring the system from the ground up, they are using an archaic
system that they continue to "Statistically Refine." So There you have it. Castles made of Sand.

On a lighter note, I present you this:

While the body of an American Icon is Laughing in his Grave,
I will assure you that "The Ghost of Hunter S. Thompson" is alive and well.
P.S. Remember "Crossfire"? That was Fantasic Journalistic Interviews from all sides.
He liked that. As Well as Football,Motorcycles, and The State of Kentucky.

Get it? No? How about this, There are so many layers to the Mysterious Onion that is
The United States of America, that in your lifetime you may only be privy to the dried out skins.

Anyway, I'll link this Historical footnote just for fun. H.S.T The Crazy Never Die.

The government has taken the "1984" approach to battling info-wars. They concentrate more on their own people than the countries they are supposedly fighting. I have come to the conclusion that "We the people" have become governments "Public enemy No. 1" because they fear us more than they fear the supposed enemy. Indeed, they have made more deals with them than they would ever make with us for the simple fact that they believe they own us and therefore have no need to "ask" us for anything, they just take whatever they feel like and then wonder why the people become angry........no, angry is not the right word "enraged" is a more suitable word to describe the feeling.

They are committing the same mistake Rome made so long ago and can not even see it. Who knows how many American people they have "alienated" due to arrogant actions and deeds they have committed with the1984 technologies they are using. I for one will do nothing to hurt this country's people however that means I will also do nothing to help either for I have felt their Technologies, "first hand" on many separate occasions. (and I am a Veteran of the first gulf war). Indeed, veterans are not only victims of war, some of us are treated worse than enemy combatants if you would believe that. Our only crime is putting our lives on the line and defending the constitution.

Why do you think there are so many homeless veterans? Because many of us have seen first hand what they have done and not just to the enemy, "but" to their own people no doubt. Traitors fill this country's highest offices, it is a reason for the sorry State of the Union make no mistake about that (ask Jesse Ventura). They use the excuse of "National Security" to cover up theft and treason. There is no need to raise up arms, they are doing a better job destroying this country than any army could currently do. In fact I sometimes wonder if they have actually been taken over already because of the exemplary job they are doing.

1. 3 front war (physical fronts) Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea.
2. Destroyed the economy
3. Sold secret technologies to our so called "enemies".
4. Exported manufacturing businesses overseas.
5. Use silent weapons for secret wars on their own people and veterans.

The list goes on. Way to go American traitors.

you're all connected to google and then google connects you to what they want you to see.

the internet is already censored. unless you want to go thru 7,000,000 pages of websites to find something buried so far on a server it'll take 300 years to find it.

I am quite frankly shocked that ANYONE on this site shares this opinion. People should have the right to ALL forms of information. If they can't deal responsibly with that information, that is their problem.

People like you guys are dangerous. That's the long and short of it. Whether you know it or not, you are PRECISELY the type of people that allow the corruption, enslavement, and degradation of mankind in general.

I understand that you see your views as well-intentioned, but I implore you guys to think more carefully about what you just said. The things you ACCEPT as facts are not necessarily facts. Just because something APPEARS to be true (supported by known evidence) doesn't necessarily make it so. Humans are preconditioned to accept that which repeatedly occurs-- for the most part that ensures our survival but it can also hide the truth.

Further, your ideology is extremely arrogant. I find it odd that you're on a site chock full of people ranting and raving about "TPTB," yet you appear to share the same ideology that drives those powers. This particular post is extremely telling because it shows your latent desire for control of other sovereign beings. Regardless of your intentions, the acts that you would perpetrate to further these ends are necessarily evil. We were not all created equal, but we were all born free. To remove that which was bestowed upon us all (free will---freedom of choice--whatever you call it) makes you nothing more than thieves. I beg you to reconsider your statements.

I AM NOT supporting those lies. But people have every right to believe what they want-- even if it causes them harm. That is the essence of a free mind. You're literally out to imprison minds.

Although I'm actually quite sure you're a troll. I find that real people tend not to be this obtuse.

Information is important, for there lays knowledge and truth. Only the truth can set us free.

Sadly, the OP and some others in this thread had NOT been truthful. Let's examine the facts:-

1. The OP's title and post had been skewared to show that Mrs Hilary Clinton is against free speech, even in the internet, WHICH WAS NOT what she said or even meant.

What she meant by alternative media was mainstream media comming from dictatorships such as Russia and China. Everyone knows how hate filled and misleading their propaganda can be. Combined, those 2 nation have BILLIONS of citizen, whom are regularly and daily BRAINWASHED to hate USA and its democratic systems, including the tyrants still alive in the middle east and abusing their own citizens as well as radical Jihadist terrorist organisations.

No doubt USA is flawed, but no nation is perfect, and it is still the remaining few places where Constitutional Rule of Law is respected, or will be REMINDED by street protests if forgotten by the leaders. Can anyone say the same for China and Russia, as well as a ring of tyrannical states around the world?

The US media too, is no saint, for it will sell its soul to its master, after all, the media are privately own by Corporations whom seek for profits, and will not hesitate to sell out americans if it can pocket a dime or two out of it. Journalists with conscience are but only a few thats left, that do not worship Mammon.

And this was what Mrs Hilary Clinton talking about.

Fortunately for mankind, we all still have the internet, linking and connecting to many across the world within seconds, and BS, regardless if told by whichever media, is discovered quickly, even if China has a firewall and a different language than english.

It is not Mrs Hilary Clinton that we must be wary of, but rather, the quiet insidous ones regardless of Republican or Demo, in Congress whom are quietly working within legislation, using 'sleight of hand' tricks, to cheat americans of their right to express themselves freely in all media.

Already, other nations had succeeded along with internet traitors. China and its internet content providers such as Baidu and microsoft, are one. There are many others. US and a few other states is all that is left.

But in reality, should mankind need to unite as one, one day, it will still be possible to do so on the internet if not by word of mouth, for inorder to silence all, they will have to shut down the internet, but to do so would to shut down all commerce - end money, which is their weakness and worship, which they will rather die than to see it end. Thus, no matter how they may firewall or curtail free speech on the net, they will lose.
