when you watch this video make sure you catch the part where hilary clinton says "we are losing the media WAR". if you ever thought that the govenment didnt take the free flow of information and ideas accross the internet seriously then you really are just a dreamer (no offence intended).

for many years peopel were very carefully "pitched" ideas as news to direct public sentiment. this was for the benifit of the policy makers and the current political structure.

some would say that the skew of information was a form of propoganda, others beleived that no one controlled the media as there were too many MSM sources.

there is a "national security notice" that can be issued to MSM to prevent stories from being reported on and in some cases only the official line was allowed. while i understand the need for ligitamite stories,
the beating of war drums and the fear incited to justify aggresive wars beccause of public opinion.

iran is a good example because the MSM narritive has been for nearly 30 years "iran only months away from nukes"
but the problem is the same news line has been repeated for nearly 30 years.

in the age of the internet and alternative news and free flow of information, the "control" of how a story is portrayed is in the hands of ordinary people without the national security problems of larger MSM news outlets.

this makes shaping public opinon for war much more difficult because people can get information from sources other than the "official line from MSM"

this means to control public opinion towards the goals of war that the MSM news can no longer be used to instill fear and propoganda to control the narritive,

this means that people read what they want and make up there own mind, and this makes the people less likley to be fooled by the drum beat of war.

does anyone hear think that the loss of control of the narritive is going to be accepted by those who seek control and WAR?

so are there "info soilders" on the net right now AT WAR for the controllers attempting to control the news and "flood" the net with stories that suit thier narritive?

well if you dont you are not paying attension,

THERE IS A WAR ON AGAINST YOU AND FREE SPEACH,
in war all taktics are allowed, (not the average person, the military)

except in this case most are unawares that the battle has been started and the only people that are fighting are the soilders paid for by your tax money, to control your opinion

the loss of control of public opinion scares the crap out of the rulers, and they will try and say anything,
to regain the ability to control the naritive.

just saying be aware of the agenda of the attack stories
be aware of the demonize "this group" or "that group"
and remember

the army is taking this very very seriously.

THERE IS A BATTLE GOING ON FOR YOU MIND.

dont be fooled

the ability to study stories and there spread accross the net has lead to computer story tracking and counter measure stories to holt the spread of information.
many very smart computer scientists have designed a system to trak and change the flow of the storys almost at the source.

why does the top computer scientific minds work to squash free speach for the control of the narritive of the news?

i have heard of people developing ways around the censorship,
but i will not discuss the details because of this,

More chilling, the legislation provides that the Attorney General can take action against anyone offering a product or service designed or marketed to get around this new blacklist. Popular services like Tor would be immediately threatened by passage of this bill.

when we helped egypt we were supporting freedom,
when we help americans we are criminals?

WTF?

this E parisite legisation is a direct mecanism to full blown control of the net.
it is ambigiously worded on purpose to allow for "interpretive" power grabs in incremental steps

ther are already countermeasures but to offer them will soon be a crime.

anyone who disagrees with the govenment is guilty untill proven innocent and they can be targeted and shut down.

this is the most repugnant legislation i have read about and it only serves to destroy the net,

thanks for the link

mabey the thing to do is to realese the work around now before it can be made illegal to do so...

Hilary was thinking that US is going to lead Media stream in the world. She was thinking that American people are always going to buy what they sell.

But it seems the other way and American are not following these puppets.

The truth is that people find about truth in their country. It is not a war. She thinks that people should be manipulated by the lies they tell American people .Now , American people know that they are much cornered and far from the truth on the other parts of this planet.

The PTB always is afraid of informed and the ones who deny their ignorance.

She is afraid about this.

in the age of the internet and alternative news and free flow of information, the "control" of how a story is portrayed is in the hands of ordinary people without the national security problems of larger MSM news outlets.

Absolutely. I live in Iran. I don't like my country and my efforts to be destroyed by the hands of US army or NATO air force.

I just want to live in peace and I am not letting this war get started.

I hope that people all around the world learn how to control their hearts and minds.

Peace.

We are in a world that is so interconnected now. That is the difference in examining Human History. We are able to connect stories in the mass media and basically see history happening better then we ever had before. That's why we can "predict" things with some research.

We first had the airlines. Normal people like you and I could hop on a plane and be anywhere we want in the world. Global travel. Hell, if I wanted to go to China right now I could be there in less then a day. That is how small the world is.

Then the beautiful invention of the internet came about which gave us the ability of instant communication on a GLOBAL level. Everything is global. So for us to become One is inevitable. But not through Government because government and power corrupts.

We live in the INFORMATION AGE. I wouldn't be talking to any of you about this subject without the internet. It gives the ability to spread ideas for Good at a rate that can go VIRAL.

So because of the internet it has made Government so transparent without their consent. We can actually see how they systematically deceive us. Our governments are playing 20th Century politics in the 21st Century. It doesn't work on us anymore. Hillary proves right here that they are afraid of the internet. The elite are scrambling. We the People of the World will win the the end. Third world countries are literally liberating themselves. In the "1st World Countries" we have a global democratic society that allows us to speak out against our "kings" and their wrong doings. Few hundred years ago if I got in the street and said, "Screw the King"......I'd be dead in less then 60 seconds. The internet allows minds to speak and bring up ideas that would never be presented to me otherwise.

We are in a time where the "Occupy Movement" is about denouncing Greed and Corruption that oppresses our lives. The world goes round on the common peoples back. Yet, few get to live life in luxury. We already live in a utopia buts its fueled by possession of money which turns into power which turns into war for more power.

People have the Power to end this suffering. Its been put in motion and the People want to solve it through Peace. After a decade of total war.....2001-2011......would we honestly want to start a larger one? All this talk about WW3 isn't going to happen. The elites hate the elites from other countries. Its always been that way.

The internet has united the world against The elite and their injustices. 2012 is going to be about freedom. Not the end of the world.

We are on the cusp of global freedom.

when telling the truth is a crime all you will hear is lies,
to justify an agressive war the people need to be lied to as no person will want war unless it is spun that "we should fear WMDs".

the "scare factor" is removed when people educate themslves.
as far as i know iran is the next boogie man and the MSM is trying to install fear and control over the mindset of the american nation, as scared and fearful the nation will be "lead to war" by propaganda,

but with the internet people can and do find the truth of such things,

a good example is libya, the reconstructiion contracts go to american companies and the first act was to instill a centeral bank.

libya wanted independance from buying oil in us dollars and wanted a gold backed currency,
they got war instead.

if iran is planning to sell oil in any other currency they will be attacked, thing is most will think its about WMDs but this is the fear element used to justify the agressive war as americans would not want war if they knew it was just about the dollars you supply oil in.

when this is understood, the reason to "WAR" on information is to hide the truth and spin the fear.

problem is too many people are now denying ignorence and in doing so are amking up their own minds.

be aware i have never meet a person who in my country would want an agresive preemtive war (nz)
yet we are lead to war through propaganda, hilary clinton said as much in the video.

there is no way to lie to an informed poulation and to do so exposes the lie even quicker.

piece and light to the iranian people and to the peoples of the world,
say no to the propaganda and ask everyone you meet,

WOULD YOU START A WAR?

i have yet to meet a single person who would. and when people realise it is only a very small percent who would start a war we will realise they are the minority leading the majority into war,
at this point the majority will say no more death.

in my opinion world war 3 is not a conventional war, it is one faught in cyber space, but not aginst infrastructue as the MSM is trying to claim,

world war 3 is a battle for nothing less than the control of peoples ability to be pieceful and express ideas,

thing is 99% of the planet would protest the control of the internet because it has become part of the conciousness and is in the conciousness of most people around the world.
it allows all people rich and poor to have a voice and a say and when people realise,
no one wants war except those who seek to control and destroy,
and they are a minority and we are the majority.

world war three is not a ground war its a net war and its not lives we are fighting for its minds and opinion.

and i fully agree with you, the old control structure is stuck in the 20th century,
while the new structure is uncontrolable and this gives the advantage to the truth and to the people.

this is why draconian laws are being written,
they know they have lost already and are trying to "regain" control.

but a mind once liberated is imposable to imprison in lies.

the public opinion is where this war will be fought and no damage3 or lives will be lost,
this will be the nature of all future wars,

the battle front is your mind and time and the hilary crowd are prepaired to spend billions.
you cant buy the "HEARTS AND MINDS" of free thinking people.

this is why the cant and wont win

IMO The PTB has just removed as much currency as it could from the govts. They are stuck in the swamp of the rich.

There are much countries who are falling .

The PTB has started an ugly effort toward every single human being on the planet.

They are justifying war. They want to involve every one in their war.

IMO when people are oppressed and attacked , the war is imposed on them. So , they will have to fight to get their peace back.

The only difference is who will start the war and are their people ready to attack ?

As you said , they ask for our mind. My answer is "NO".

piece and light to the iranian people and to the peoples of the world,

Peace and light to you and the people who try denying ignorance.

I try my best.

Regards.

this story reminds me so much of South Africa in the old days before TV was allowed. The old, white government viewed television as a serious threat, because, if commoners had TV, then they would be able to see and know how things were in other countries ....

you can read all about it here, and it makes me wonder...... I just hope America doesn't go down that same, sad, dark route ....

i mean the hearing she is at is too ask for billions to help fight against free speach and free thought.

if this was in my country people would be orginizing how to vote these propaganda artists out and replace them with people who want to hear and speak the truth

That was a pretty amazing statistic about how many more viewers RT had on youtube, compared to CNN. If that statistic is true, the US isn't LOSING the information war, it's already lost.

I've personally watched more RT on youtube than CNN, but that's mainly because I can't tune into RT on my TV set, youtube is the only way I can get it, so that statistic could be a little skewed by people like me who still watch CNN on TV, just not on youtube.

When they created the internet, it opened "Pandora's box" for freedom of speech, a principle that America is supposedly founded on. Other countries should have just as much right to free speech as America does, but it seems now America would like to put the internet back in a box and undo what it's done.

It seems to me like Hillary Clinton should be less concerned about other countries increasing their international news presence, and more concerned about influencing what America actually DOES to generate news. If America does less to be embarrassed about, then America will have less to worry about other countries reporting embarrassing news.

I'd hate to see a "great firewall of America" like the "great firewall of China" but there are some who want to push America in that direction. It just won't be a free America anymore if that happens.

Freedom of information isn't war, it's a universal right. Bout time she shuts up and moves on before she makes herself look even stupider. (If that's even possible.)

Why does this remind me of the Tower of Babel? Ms. Clinton did seem to be disturbed most by the fact of the English translations in the news media of foreign countries. Actually, we have had this for quite some time.

So, with all the global translations, we can all now share "one language", each having our own in translations. And what happened to the last Tower of Babel, when people attempted to "see into the 'heavens'? ("the heavens" actually being a metaphor for the 'inner workings' of a control system) It crashed!

And what happens next? Revelation tells us that "the heavens" will be rolled up like a scroll! No more peeking! I expect the curtains will soon be drawn on the "windows" that have allowed us to peer into the deep abyss.

Wasn't the military paying Iraq to post their propaganda stories?
And paying retired officers to go on Fox news without people knowing they were being paid for it?
And trying to start a department to push propaganda all over the world until people heard about it and caused an uproar? And now we hear they are having soldiers post of forums to push conservative BS propaganda.

It should all be illegal.

Now I work for an organization, that brings news from outside a country, in which all foreign news services are banned, and many internal journalists are in jail ..... and being responsible for keeping them on air, and getting reports from the persons working underground, all I can say is" " Hooray the internet", because without it, we wouldn't have been able to do what we do. The internet was created by you Americans, don't let that freedom be taken away from you. I have seen, and I believe in how much most journalists believe in unbiased views, even journalists from very oppressed countries, in which they would stand up and say "My personal opinions are this ...., but we must present an unbiased view to the world, let us go and report things the way they are, without any preduces" (sorry, English being my 3rd language, I don't always know if I have it right)
If you want to read more about the freedom of press, read en.rsf.org...

All I can say to you Americans, don't let the freedom of speech, the freedom of press being taken away from you.

Great thread XPLodER. You are correct that there is a war going on not just for our minds also for our hearts. The problem is the U.S. is going about it the wrong way. The believe too much in "Walk softly and carry a big stick".......they have forgotten all about the carrot. Many times a carrot will produce much more results than a big stick ever could.

Their approach is lopsided and they have probably done irreparable harm to those that could have helped them most, namely their own people. Irrational fear of propaganda demonstrates that ignorance can kill.
(innocents mainly). The U.S. Government has FAILED in capturing the essence of the information war because of their fear, (Yes fear, whether you believe that or not), greed and ignorance about what the information war is really all about.

I will give you all a hint and has something to do with the following :

www.youtube.com...

though this is by no means the whole answer, it a small part of the bigger picture.

it would seem to be a cotridiction on the freedom of a person to decern what they believe,
and be told what to beleive.

the media portrays the net like an unreliable wastland of information,
yet some of the greastest advancements the world has seen have come about using data from round the world.

i see that if america was to acually do the right thing,
there would be no need to spin so much

Dialogue and discussion is just as important, exchange of information and metaphor and ideas. America doesn't have enough intelligent people who are taking information serious. Or they are content to be dumbed down fools.

Machiavelli was right mostly on how people are in believing lies. Anyone notice how America is becoming more and more full of bad people and conmen. Military recruiters are conmen, I remember when I thought about joining they looked at me stunned as department store dummies because I was reading a classic book of American literature. He never heard of Washington Irving the author of Legend of Sleepy Hollow. That was when I knew the Society echelons of America had lost the information war. Books are bad, I don't think so.
