So what you really just said by your statements is this: sexual crimes against defenseless children dont matter in the grand scheme of things because politicians do it at "bohemian grove" or some other nonsense with no ACTUAL proof, pedophiles are not doing anything wrong their just "sexually repressed" basically equating them with any other sexual orientation, the media/movies argument has been around forever there is no real data backing the premise that there is a tangible negative affect on society besides people being sedentary, you seem to have a lot to say except for when it comes to the victim.

You can rationalize around your idiotic stance all you want, I stand by my original estimation of you as a sick and deluded individual. Oh and by the way "seeing" and actually using critical thought to process and understand what you are "seeing" are two totally different things.

This isn't something that is new and is just occuring in recent years. This may not be because the boy in question has a horrific and traumatic homelife, been sexually abused himself, or is desensitised to sex because of what he sees on TV. The kid may just frankly be a predator in the making, they always start somewhere. I will not have sympathy for the abuser. Regardless of his age.

The main reason i will not have sympathy for the abuser, is because this happened to me. In the 80's. When i was 7, the boy was 14 and a friend of an older sibling. He knew exactly what he was doing was wrong, yet he did it anyway....on many occasions. As luck would have it, we moved far away. I never told anyone, i was too scared and ashamed. I always wonder now i have come to terms with what happened to me, was i a one off, or was i the start of something more sinister? Was i even the first? He had a sister my age, did he do the same to her?

I have been involved in many support groups for sexual abuse and sadly this kind of thing is common. Older siblings abusing younger siblings, Fathers abusing thier children, Older cousins abusing younger cousins (The list goes on, but you get the picture).
Sadly i have spoken to many victims who have been ousted by thier families for spouting lies and making it all up. And there are the ones who've never told a soul because they fear they will never be believed or because they still feel that it was all their fault.

I'm glad this kid was caught, he needs some serious help and needs to be punished accordingly. Whether said help and punishment will actually do anything to get through to the kid is another story. Hopefully he will never do it again.

I really feel for the young girl, who will end up carrying this around with her for the rest of her life.

But it does matter when judging whether the perpetrator is legally responsible for the rape, to what degree, and what the punishment should be.

Values such as those you espouse are used everyday to excuse and absolve sin in the mind of the sinner at the expense of the victim.

As a father of two teen age boys, if had waited until now to teach them right from wrong it would be too late. Not to say it couldn't happen now, but if it did, as a parent i would hold myself and the child responsible. If it were my daughter I would absolutely be in jail along with or without the perpetrator. Basically, parents are doing a very crappy job being involved in their kids lives. Just like in the womans right to have an abortion thread yesterday there were a good many trying to say it was ok, because life was too hard for them. I don't have all the answers, but I do know the correct one for this case. I agree with the guy on here calling for castration. Not only for this boy, but anyone guiltly of such. Like the sicko football coach, preists, daycare workers, and ANYONE else. There needs to be consiquences for bad behavior an eye for an eye. If you steel cut off a finger. Lie cut out the tounge. If you murder in cold blood, then you swing from a tree. I hope you get my point. This will piss some of you off, but you are the ones bringing this country down. It's sad the moral foundation has eroded to this point.

I believe the 13 year old teen knew exactly what he was doing....he is a pedofile...and he got caught. He needs to be held responsible for his actions.

My compassion and prayers go out to the 5 year old girl and her family. She is in shock and trauma....and I hope and pray she gets the help right now that she needs.

Im a realist. I've seen kids younger than that carrying weapons and killing people in war zones.. There are also countries where at 13 they are considered adults. Its in the west that they're coddled because oh they're just children... Children without proper upbringing are just as dangerous as any adult.. Up until late 19th early 20th century in western countries 'kids' that age often had the same responsibilities as adults.
No more barbaric than many of the atrocities westerners commit without reason or for corporate greed around the world everyday.
Let the punishment fit the crime and for rapists castration fits better than coddling them in some prison at expense of the public so they can get released to go find more victims to rape. Age is no excuse he showed no regard for his victims age.

Sorry if this has already been posted, I don't have time to read beyond the first page. The 13 year old child was 13! Why was a 13 year old in a McDonald's play area in the first place? These things are intended for younger children and not preteens and teens. Hell there is a weight limit on these things and if you throw in some bigger kids with the lil ones who knows what might break. Any right minded parent should know better than to allow there 13 year old into one of these area where most children will probably under 8 anyway. If not for the mere fact that a13 year old in a McDonald's play area is just plain embarrassing than because there is the risk of the older either accidentally or even intentionally harming the other children. Lets not forgot that bullying is a very real issue.

I can't believe you're defining both of these persons as "children." There is one child involved--one--and that's the five-year old. Children are not physically or psychologically capable of raping another person.

As an aside, the term, child, is far too loosely thrown around and has been for years. Teenagers are not children. Sorry.
