You're missing the point Pops.

I don't think there is anything I could say that would garner your approval unless it was spot on with your ideology. I am willing to flex when the situation and facts demand. It seems as though you are not.

It's probably not at all beneficial to start slinging around all the muddy He-Said-She-Said stuff...as ultimately everyone gets coated in whats flying...


ATS Politics has a 'tagline' - Deny Apathy.

In a way all that is being put out there within this thread shows that there isn't a huge abundance of political apathy amongst our passionate Members...


Guess bottomline is: We can certainly be politically passionate...probably not so much when it comes to being politically poisonous.

It takes two to play the baiting game.
If someone dangles a succulent morsel in front of you...and you ignore it and/or alert staff, that person will find another place to troll.
An opposing viewpoint is NOT a valid reason to complain & It takes two to tango

I LOVE this thread. The OP hit on a point that is quite obvious here and then we went straight to the 5 P's. Personal Political Partisanship Poses Problems. It's a joke, or should be because it's grown people acting like children. It seems at times that the staff are babysitters. I didn't sign on for that but, hey, what are you going to do? You play the cards you're dealt.

Those of you that can't see past your own nose, do yourself a favor. Engage the brain once in a while. You'll see how damn ridiculous this exercise in internet masturbation is. If you don't, go back to 1st Grade. That's how futile this crap is.

Accept more staff? Easier said than done. It takes a lot to be a staffer here. A THICK skin. We get crapped on by all political spectrums. Non-partisanship. We've had partisan staff before. Doesn't work. Still get called Nazi's. Shills for whatever the individual member sees as a threat.

Bottom line, we're here. We will continue enforcing the T&C. Sorry if we can't be all that you want us to be. Hey, here's a thought, try being less partisan and annoying. That would help.

From the very start of this thread I have stated that I am guilty as well. Am I the only one that is willing to admit that?

Also, for the record, I did not intend to ridicule the mods in any way and don't believe I did. I did want your comments though.

I can agree, we never mentioned any mods

mods have been pretty fair.

We will leave it at that.

Were not a bunch of cry babies to alert a mod if

I think it has been a good discussion.

I will try my best to be less Bias, you know what they say about

Regardless of topic. The trolling, attacks, bickering and fighting needs to stop. It is coming from both sides of each debate. Not just the left. Not just the right. Every side....

I have actively been encouraging both sides to cut it out and several have agreed to stop. Fighting amongst each other does not help a thing.

You touch on something that is very true. It is silly to just say " bring on more staff". Fact is, we are all adults here. Ultimately, we are responsible for our own actions and the mods are not here to be babysitters.

Some one posted in this thread earlier saying that the golden rule is a good one to go by. Reply to others in the way you would like to be replied to. If you would not like to be attacked, called names etc... Don't do it yourself.

I think it comes down to personal responsibility and leading by example. This site is member driven and the content we have is here because of the membership. If you see a rising trend of attacks, lead by example.

Be the change you wish to see. We should not have to rely on mods to baby sit us. We are adults. Grown men and grown women. More than capable of discussing any topic in a civil manner.

So, let's do that. It's honestly not hard.

And if you do feel frustrated and are not sure if you can behave, take a break and do not post until you are calm again.

Just like the old saying. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all.

I can agree with your sentiment. I believe that I have maintained a positive reputation in how I interact on the threads....until the last few weeks. It seems as though I am becoming too "passionate" when I defend my personal stance.

Maybe it's time to step away from ATS.

It can't hurt. I have taken several breaks in my time here on ATS. Anywhere from a few minutes to a whole week. Either way I always come back feeling refreshed, calm and even more open to others ideas and there fore more capable of discussing things in a civil manner.

It has always worked for me. Sometimes things really do just get to hectic and we all can use breaks from time to time to relieve stress.

Thanks for pointing it out, its rampant on so many different thread, and it seems that maybe the mods are too busy to clean some of these threads, im sorry i know im not suposed to tell the mods how to do there jobs...
