VT: Restore The Draft, Israel Is Demanding It

A rather humorous, sarcastic article by Gordon Duff, a Senior Editor at 'Veterans Today'. Must admit it did give me a chuckle or two.

Here's a little snippet from the piece

The news is reporting, every station, every paper, that America is preparing an invasion of Iran, a country with nearly 100 million citizens. The reason? Israel is demanding it.

We are told that new reports of nuclear weapons in Iran are going to be released as soon as Israel is finished writing them for us.

We support this war but want its costs shared. Thus, we have a plan to protect Israel, win the war and bring Americans together again.

We invaded Iraq for Israel but they declined to participate. This time, we expect the entire Israeli army to move into Iraq and lead the attack themselves.

Israeli Women Are Already Trained and Ready to Go

American units leading the way will be entirely Jewish also, as soon as they have enlisted or are drafted.

Following them will be the sons and daughters of our government, congress, the varying branches, in fact no member of our services that has participated in the Global War on Terror in any way can be allowed to fight another war.

They have given too much.

Well worth a read ... especially if you're from the US, and particularly if you are a veteran

Also it's a moment of levity in an otherwise incredibly serious situation. if it all kicks off, moments to have a smile and a chuckle might become very rare .

Israel could have the largest standing army in the world if every man, woman and child was given weapons and training... Why, they could fight every one of their wars themselves...

I've often thought that if those Politicians, who call out so adamantly for sending the young of their nation to die in war, were strapped to the front of the leading tanks (or tied to first LGBs or Missles released), the fetish for war would vanish overnight.

I love this bit in the article

There will be no profits allowed for companies selling goods and services to the military and government. All senior management at those companies will also earn only $1 dollar per year.

If these ideas sound familiar, they are Marine Corps ideas, originating from Medal of Honor winner, General Smedley Butler, America’s greatest hero.

Again, if war was ever declared on that basis you can bet it would be over sooooooo quickly... if it ever got to start at all.

Take the profit out of it, and make those keen to go to war do their own fighting... A perfect combination for a breakout of sanity.

Levity in the face of suffering is an excellent coping mechanism, but that's all it is.
How about we stop supporting this government that has shown its true colors as of late?
If you don't want to see more civilians killed in the name of Jehova/Allah, why not stop paying taxes?
If the supreme court has ruled that corporate personhood equates to money being free speech, why don't you exercise your first amendment rights by withholding your "speech"?

Unfortunately, where I'm from (the UK) we don't have 1st Amendment Rights... otherwise I TOTALLY agree with you

Everybody has the right of free speech. Simply because your government doesn't have a bill of rights supporting it, doesn't mean you don't have that right. You may not have the same law to support my statement either, (I'm not that well-versed in Brittish law) but that doesn't mean that you, as a free person, don't have the right to withhold from your government, that which supports something that you don't agree with.

As if the muslim worlds is in any positon to fight western powers and Israel. Instead, they are the ones getting bombed and occupied and threatened with war.

Why it's not like they would be able to use. Remember only men from a certain tribe were able to carry it so it could be used. That tribe doesn't exist anymore so they are SOL.

This is why religious people should never hold political office. They are incapable of separating BS propaganda from real life and because of this we are easily led into senseless wars.

The article I mention in the OP is humorous, makes a (sarcastic) point, and is well worth a read... Can we please keep to discussing that?

There are already a million threads with people virtually tearing into each other because of religion or politics. It was not my intention to add one more to the virtual war going on in ATS. It was rather an attempt to get people to lighten up a tad

Actually that tribe does still exist. The Levites are called the Lavani now, and they roam the border areas between afghanistan and pakistan. They still have jewish customs and celebrate the feast days, but they are also muslim now

When the Assyrian Empire invaded in 740 to 722 B.C. in a series of raids they carted off most of the lost 10 tribes and spread them across the region. Yeah thats right, alot of the lost tribes are muslim now. Cruelest joke on Israel now, their lost brothers are the ones that will be killing them.
