You are wrong. They are injecting waste water right under the epicenters of these quakes. They are fracking and drilling for gas and oil all over the state and have been doing so for years. They are trigger the faults. Fracking will cause a massive quake in Arkansas, Oklahoma, or new the New Madrid.

Fracking will cause a disaster that will kill thousands.

Another eartquake hit central Oklahoma right after the 8.8 earthquake hit Chile. The quake in Oklahoma measured 4.4 which is significant for Oklahoma. Oklahoma has had 20 earthquakes this last year. According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake epicenter was located three miles east-northeast of Sparks, OK. The quake hit at 4:22pm.

The earthquake that hit cental Oklahoma hit about the same time as the world waited for the Tsunami to hit Hawaii.

Okalhomans reported feeling the quake all over central Oklahoma. The Teners Western Outfitters store had a long crack in their side of their building, and people reported that they thought a truck ran into their homes and businesses.
There have been only minor damages reported.

The largest earthquake recorded in Oklahoma has been a 5.5 earthquake which hit El Reno, OKlahoma, and buildings are still collapsing to this day from the effects of downtown El Reno from the quake in the 50's. Jones, Oklahoma has reported the most earthquakes this year.

But hey, what do I know.

Here's the exact info from the USGS:

Magnitude 5.6 - OKLAHOMA

BTW, if anyone is interested, the USGS has a KML file that keeps up-to-date info for earthquakes on Google Earth for the last 7 days(updates every...5 minutes I believe). This can be downloaded on the following page:

Hey guys...for those that don't 'know' me, I have been here on ATS for sometime now and don't just say things at random. I am feeling very......compelled right now to let those of you in the Oklahoma area know that you need to prepare.

I am NOT a doom and gloomer. Normally, when I post about quake related stuff, I have something to back up what I am saying. Here, I do not, other than a feeling. I began making comments about Oklahoma several weeks ago BEFORE you started having these quakes. I really feel something is coming and if you
are not already prepared for a natural disaster.....please do so.

Prepare a 'bug out' bag and think about what you would do in a situation involving a large earthquake. Not trying to scare anyone, but just to urge you to be prepared.

I am quoting this because I really want to get this message out. I think it very important. It isn't overy guys...these are all foreshocks.

@mrwendle.....I don't have a scientifc reason at all. That's just the thing. Yes, it is out of character for me, but I am stepping out on this one, because it seems to be that I may be right.

I don't want to go into the why here...for anyone who really wants to know, I get into it on the last couple of pages of my thread here:

Moderate quakes striking odd places in USA

Just be prepared.

Local media is reporting that the quake was felt as far east as Springfield / Rogersville MO. Springfield is about 75 miles East of Joplin and the Oklahoma / Missouri / Kansas State lines.

0120 - small aftershock.

MSM update stated some parts in Oklahoma took damage (buildings and some roads).

I was not aware that any fault lines ran through Oklahoma. Anyone know the answer?

All these recent earthquakes are just the American founding fathers rolling in their graves. JK
Seriously though, between all the quakes between OKC and Guy AR tell me the new madrid is getting active.
I wonder if these ''earth makes rumble sound'' threads are just hearing the tectonics shifting?(they seem close in location to smaller quakes) The animals dropping dead due to earthquakes theory is a ''recent'' observation, same goes for earthquake lights (had been reported a long time but only recently given creditability. also note lights are confirmed phenomena, dead animals link still under investigation.)

I was going to say God was hitting the smite button and keeps forgetting to correct for cross winds. However, the sonics explanation is valid also.

I wonder if the major quake a few years back in South East Asia, coupled with the major ones in South America and then Japan, jolted the techtonic plates to such a degree that it allows for a little more wiggle room for the plates to move around.

What we are experiencing might be the plates settling into their new positions?

Also, more questions than answers -

The earthquake was felt in Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Arkansas, Texas and Tennessee, according to the USGS website.

I would say New Madrids.

13 and counting, do I hear 14? 14 anyone? How about you in the back? Saw someone asking about faults in oklahoma. In south central oklahoma, there is an old old mountain range, the arbuckle mountains. A long time ago they were taller than the rockies. Mountains are formed by two tectonic plates pushing together, they arent known for earthquakes. Why you might ask, because the stress doesn't really build, it is simply released by pushing dirt and rock upwards. That however was long ago, no there are no major faults running through oklahoma.....So what is causing this....~shrug~...your guess is as good as mine, I am personally leaning towards the aspect that the new madrid is at the root of this. But that is just my guess.

On a totally different note, has anyone else noticed an extremely persistent lack of earthquakes around the yellowstone area?.....I only ask because over the last year I have been watching the quake activity, there is always a large number of small shakes around there. Usually a good 10-15 a week, however in the last week, nada.....Just an interesting point of curiosity.

I think I would rather have the 5.6 EQ in Oklahoma than having yellowstone explode, plunging the world into a mini iceage.
