Even if you were referring to a komodo dragon, I couldn't accurately guess it's age. I don't think you were talking about a komodo though. which makes it quite interesting that your choice of creature for an analogy, is a creature of fairy tales and folklore.

I am not sure what to make of your experience but I totally loved the way you presented your story. Thank you for taking the time and sharing.

Also, though I personally have not seen anything like that in my lifetime, it is not fair to state that the OP was dreaming as if that is a fact. We have no idea if it was a dream, hallucination, visitation, Ghost, Smurf or whatever.

Just a thought.... If we had a really good drawer on ATS who could work as a sketch artist maybe taking every detail you remember and draw a better picture of this for us. It might be kind of neat to see what comes out of it. Im only on page one of replies so if this has been posted. Sorry.

Also I would like to say this. I believe you saw what you saw, but as others have said it was probably your brain playing tricks on you. I was once in that half sleeping half awake state and I opened my eyes. Blinked a few times looked down near the end of my bed and I saw an object there. Like a person bent over reaching up my bed. I sat up like I had been hit with lightning or something else and I looked and nothing was there. This was in my mind due to my brains activity was still in a half sleep state I think and still partly dreaming.

yes. i personally know a very close friend of mines wife had this happen to her around 6 months ago, however, the entity had a hammer fist almost exactly like Hellboy but was dark and was at the foot her bed and moved to her husbands side and kept watching him as she was literately... speechless from fear that had gripped her throat...

it was as tall as the ceiling and quite broad.. it stop at her husbands side of the bed and stared at him for about 1 min.. it then looked at her and vanished.. she woke him by hitting him and finally was able to catch her breath and did go to sleep the rest of the night..

his cell phone was on the window cell, and when he went to bed, he ALWAYS puts it on his nightstand and charges it.. always..

Here's my goings on within the last few years .. things to this day I can not explain.. one of which how something could push up from the bottom of a box-spring & mattress and nearly roll me and my wife out of bed....twice!

Wow. 2 very interesting points I would like to make in regards to your post.

1) I have narcolepsy, a symptom of which is hypnagogic hallucinations. You are awake, but your brain starts dreaming while your eyes are open. I once remember watching my roommate walk in my room, and just stand and stare at me. I waited to see if he's say anything, but he never did. Finally I sat up and as I did, he disappeared. I even had one where a dog came in my room, then stood up on its hind-legs and walked around until it too disappeared. This could have been a hypnagogic hallucinations EXCEPT...

An instructor tells us we can change anything about our realities that we want. She hands out black paper and tells us to change it to white paper. She says we have the power to do so. I try, I fail. She tells me I'm having what I would call a "dream." I say, "No, if i'm having a dream that means this is all in my braIn and I AM you and I created all this." She says, "Well, it is what YOU'D CALL a dream, but in reality...I (she) created YOU (me)." Then, this is where it's interesting, I look at her for the first time, right before I wake up. SHE HAS BLUE SKIN AND ORANGE HAIR. She was tall and SUPER thin. Like a big skeleton. Never, until now, have I heard anyone describe a blue being with orange hair. VERY INTERESTING!

i seen the same thing also! i made a post about it some where! i think thy live in the sea, and there skin is translucent, and there flesh is blue from there diet! i am going to make a new post, so you guys can understand what i am talking about!

Before I even saw your drawing of it I thought "sounds like Mystique from X-Men" and who knows, maybe she was inspired by one of these things?

This is what it looked like as best as I could draw it but this still doesn't do it justice by any means.

As I saw its face I froze. I don't know if I froze with fear or if it froze me through some sort of special power but I couldn't move and it took a real effort to get the words out but when i finally did, I said "Oh my god". When I said this the thing instantly disappeared in front of my eyes and i was left looking at my jacket hanging there which was previously being blocked out by the thing standing there.

Your account leads me to believe that your experience was in a real waking state for several reasons. You describe the being with a strong attachment to detail and express your impressions of his features and skin in such a way as to convery a vivid visual experience. Also your physical reaction was way too extreme for this to be a figment of your imagination. Our bodies know what is a threat and what isn't, and while a dream can focus around existing fears they are more of a stressed nervous nature and less forcefully paralyzing physically. Also you have a deep conviction that this was real, and this is evidenced by the fact that you wish you had been crazy or dreaming because the very reality of your experience has smashed your mental control over our reality construct, meaning that it shook your belief system up considerably and you no longer know what to make of things.

Those are the main reasons I think that you were indeed awake and that you experienced a real entity which materialized next to your bed. Four years ago I had a similarly very real Close Encounter which at least didn't happen in a bedroom so nobody told me I was asleep, walking on a city street. I also felt an overwhelming physical fear even though I wasn't afraid, it was my body's reaction. And I also took the same special care to drink in every detail of the entity's features and attributes, as you did in a very short time. No, the one I encountered wasn't a Blue entity. This reminds me of ancient myths about Blue Genies, and also about Indian Gods with blue skin. The indian scriptures are replete with spaceships and even ufo operator' manuals, this lends credence to the reality of your experience of an genuine Alien entity. By the way, with time one learns to live with having come across one of these, I have been free of any such experiences for several years and life is a lot easier without contact!

Dear light soul,
I have read your thread and found it most fascinating as you woke up as this being was there it is rare that anyone ever sees these beings, however it is clear that you may be visited more than you realize if you can feel that your waking up and you always look to that same area perhaps you realize/feel in your subconsciousness the beings presence.
Well one way or another you must know you were visited by a godlike being for a reason and he was not there to harm you perhaps he manifests something in your dreams or is viewing them whatever the purpose i don't believe he is there to harm you.
should you wake up again to this being perhaps (if you can get past the fear of it) ask who they are?

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet but that sounds exactly like sleep paralysis. I have had it quite few times in my life and it is horrible. The hallucinations coupled with being paralyzed not nice at all. But in the same sense it is fascinating. I'm skeptical of most fringe beliefs (and some not so fringe) yet I have seen identical visions to many others. Never heard of a tall blue man, but the dude I've seen was tall and dressed in a trench coat and black fedora (which is common). The human brain is incredible. Look it up.

Edit: apologies I see it has been mentioned a few times, reading back - I get too excited when I hear other people's sleep paralysis experiences.

You did a fantastic job. You sketched before the image faded and you took photographs - fantastic!
I keep thinking of a Student who sketched for me - the being was not large but he did stress it was blue in colour. I have no doubt you have had an Intergalactic Visitor. Possibly this was your first conscious visit.

The sleep paralysis can be broken - you were most probably terrified and rightly so. I do not know whether you are Spiritual or religious but whatever your belief system - just draw on your faith and communicate. Your faith will protect you and I cannot stress enough - clean all fear out of yourself. Evil and anything negative will feed on fear.

Be positive and work through your fear as best you can. You have been contacted and if you do not want to continue just say so. If you want to continue then set your boundaries - ask for a daytime visit so it is not so frightening.

Take care and enjoy the journey you will learn heaps.

If you felt fearful or a potential for harm during those 15 seconds this thing is not friendly. If it shows up again just firmly tell it to leave, the only way they can hurt you is if you give them permission too.

If you weren't getting a bad vibe from this guy then he may be one of your visitors. As stupid as this may sound, have you ever asked to talk to aliens?

Lets not forget that just because 5 different people see a blue type being that doesn't mean they are the 'blues' from Andromeda. Im not saying its not possible but I think its likely that we are visited by many different types of beings. The ones that show up in your bedroom at night are 'less evolved' (IMO) than some of the others because of the psychological consequences (for the human) resulting from the situation. Whatever it was I think it wanted you to see it

Who knows you could have 'been' a part of his/her group of beings in a 'previous existence'

I read your story, and in one of the replies afterwards it mentions that it may have been an Andromedan. Do a google image search on that term, and look at the few pictures that pop up. Freakishly close to what you drew.... put a dang shiver down my spine once I saw it!

Your drawing and description is consistent with the recorded appearance of the Sirians, a particular ET group.

There's a number of known groups and subspecies among them; some friendly, or STO, and others hostile, or more STS oriented.

I'm inclined to believe that the Pandorans were modelled on the Sirians. The Sirians have been spoken of for a while, before Avatar was around. As the video I linked also mentioned, they were very probably the race Tolkien was inspired by with his depiction of the Elves, as well.

This and the following post, concern a blue skinned, reddish haired woman and a blue skinned, sandy tawny haired men, both with green eyes that may have been yellowish eyes and very attractive couple.
