I signed up out of curiosity, and i also got the Emails.

That's why I signed up, out of curiousity. I wouldn't have cared if it was a simple email, all the facts included correctly, but the fact that they had to ammend it twice is what had me frowning.

I've gotten other emails from them before, simple fluff I scan through, informative, but generic.

I just get nervous when they do tests like this at all. Usually something happens during the tests that turns out to be a real event. Also, if they got control of the grid like that, why would they give it back?...why do you wear a cut up tank top on your face? You know what they will call you.

Because these projects are on paper for years, the information and discussion occurs on every level, and meetings with states, locals, radio stations, cable companies had to occur. If it gets the go ahead, then you buy the equipment. So yes, this has probably been a five year process.

Discussion of my avatar would be considered off-topic, however, I will chance to say that my avatar is no creepier than others here. It's a mask, BTW, to hide my true identity.

On Topic: I am nervous too, simply because if they can't inform accurately, how could they possibly run a nationwide test and not screw something up. Over the EAS: "Oops, we just fried out the trunk relays for communications to the west coast, sorry, no TV tonight, and oops, you lost internet access as well. Our bad, sorry. Please don't panic, FEMA will be there shortly."

Get real, they have been performing EBS and EAS tests for 40 years, at least weekly, that makes over 2000 tests and there have been a few times where something has happened.

They are not holding nationwide drills, just a test of the EAS.

Druid42, personally I kind of like your avatar, but I can see Phenomium's point.

I saw another one of the Public Service Announcements pertaining to this test again last night while watching Sportcenter. Even the tv spots are saying that the test will last three minutes in duration. If this is a test, they are doing a fine job of advertising it. Some of the things that have been suggested are just to coincidental to this event. There are just too many odd coincidences that have gotten me to start thinking that somebody knows something and they are not telling us. A nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System to coincide with Pacific Wave 2011 Tsunami Drill. This is basically amounting to the takeover off all communications, television, satellite television, and commercial radio for three minutes according to the announcements.

I don't know if any of you were aware of this finding or not. Sometime ago, this mysteroius red and white "X" showed up on Google Earth and in NASA photos that showed an origination point of a tsunami off of the coast of the Aleutian Islands. This photo has already been debunked from what I understand. However, a second photo has surfaced showing a forecast of a tsunami. A tsunami originating in the same region as to where this red "X" was. It is just too coincidental that this satellite image and forecast have came out depicting the same area. There is also a pdf file that the UN has put out pertaining to this drill and what areas are involved in this drill.

[url=http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0021/002114/211498e.pdf]UNESCO Documentation Pertaining To PACWAV11

Also, comet 2005 YU55 is slated to pass between the Earth and the Moon sometime between tonight and Wednesday morning. Again, coinciding with the PACWAV11 drill that is slated to start on Wednesday. It is just too coincidental that all of this is falling into place as of right now. If NASA, the European Space Agency, Glavkosmos, the Japanese and Chinese Space Agencies, and the United Nations had figured out whether or not this comet was going to hit. They have done a wonderful job of keeping it hidden from the general public. Let's just hope that this thing flies by without any incident.

There's a new thread on ATS about 2005 YU55, that the NASA and JPL calcs may have error factors they didn't tell us about, and that rock may pass helluva close, or worse!
If TPTB have a concern about YU55 hitting the planet, would they tell us? More likely they would feed us BS whilst they prepare for the worst.
ATS

So if it misses, the broadcasts will say "test". If not..............

Bingo
It's not what is NOW but the LATER. Last month there was the Denver, Co. 81 agency disaster scenario. 3 months ago, 20,000 troops were deployed to various regions of the country. Obama bringing troops home

now this test. They would not warn us a head of time. This is a test NOW for the LATER. Interesting the OWS movement(s) in this time frame: All major cities having these protests, you already have 20,000 soldiers assigned "homeland security" These OWS movements get violent, send in the troops, martial law, you get the picture. I have suspected the OWS movement from the start being involved in the BIG picture, just to kick off the big one. There needs to be more fuel to the fire to get the OWS to that stage IMO.

That's why I feel like this is worth paying attention to, why we should question what Our inept government is doing, and why I don't think we should be happy and feel safe cause "Homeland Security" is watching over us... Literally...

I think you hit it right on the nose here... I think we need to also pay attention to other things that may be going on at this time... I find it a little disturbing none of us are concerned about how this may be a good thing but rather a thing to be afraid of... you can see how many people really do not trust their government... that in itself is the most disturbing thing.. but also gives me hope that we are waking up to these things around us... good point thanks for pointing that out... (:

You know your post made me think about how just about everyone who knows about this will probably plan to listen in on both radio, TV and even Internet.

WHATif... There is some form of "transmission" in this signal which will actually "do something" to each of us?

I for one know I'm not going to be watching television or listening to commercial radio when this test is supposed to happen. Only radio I will be listening to that day is my police scanner and maybe my personal radio called an mp3 player. You guys don't really know how many times I have to put up with these tests in a week. Where I live, we have a lot of chemical plants around here and the system here is tested sometimes twice a week. Yeah it gets on your nerves but you tune them out after a while. It's been over three years since its been activated for any type of major emergency or chemical leak here. Each and every time its tested, I usually just tune it out 90% of the time. I mean it is one of those things that you know is there and it is there for a particular reason. I've said it before and I will say it again, "The nationwide Emergency Alert System has never been activated for any sort of emergency." It wasn't activated on September 11th, 2001 and it was never activated before or after due to an emergency of any sort.

As for the test being any indication for something that will cause us harm. I just don't see that happening anytime soon. Unless, they mysteriously broadcast some type of ultra high microwave signal to our psyche that causes us to do harm to ourselves. One thing I can see it being used for is being a sort of forewarning to emergency planners on the West Coast to prepare for a possible impact from 2005 YU55. Say if you were to have an earthquake of a magnitude seven strike anywhere on the west coast of teh United States. If the response is planned right and executed correctly to the exact protocol that would be feasible. You could have men, equipment, search and rescue, and M.A.S.H. field hospitals on location forthwith. I mean the FDNY had a protocol in place for the World Trade Center way before both attacks ever occured. They probably didn't realize that these protocols were to have been needed. It never hurts to have such protocols for a major disaster or catastrophe in place in the event something arises.

For all we know, NASA's calculation of the trajectory for this object's path may be off. A few feet off to one side and it will hit us probably somewhere off of the east coast of Russia if the map is right. If it's a few feet off to the other side then it will miss us the first time. It would be on the second time around that we would have to worry. You can only be wrong or right on an occasion like this once. That one time either way may determine the outcome for civilization as we know it.

FEMA test just in case it should crash into face

Possible, but they knew about this Asteroid for a long time, why wait till the week of the Asteroid is closest to us to TEST a system that is suppose to warn us of incedents. If that's the case shouldn't they have tested this system a month or months ago?

If you remeber they were running a joint military excercise the day of 9/11, and alot of folks in the air really thought it was just part of the test. So....that old axiom comes to mind.
"Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on thee"..

I hope HLS and FEMA arn't trying to pull yet another fastone on the american population...

hmmm...

Asteroid, not Comet, YU55 will come within 321,000 miles of Earth. It will pass between the Earth and Moon orbits. Asteroid 2005 YU55 is about 1300 feet wide, or about the size of an aircraft carrier. For an aircraft carrier sized chunk of rock to hit the earth, nothing major, or worldwide, really, could occur.

Unless it hit on the Alaskan ridge. The top of the Pacific ring of Fire. Major fault line there, so what if it could set off a major plate shift? Deep doo-doo then, aye?

They guarantee it will miss us. I'll go with that.

WEll thought out post there...

The reality of what this represents is apparent in pre- cursor evidence to all of the possibilities which face us daily both openly and secretly.

It would cause disruptions to the civilian population if they knew all of the tragic scenarios both natural and man made we encounter on a daily basis.

I for one am glad to see this test happen as it is going to save lives one day.

The twisted imagination in me makes this something to take not only at face value but also as another opportunity to mess with the evolutionary process of at least our unconscious levels.

I've been a long-time lurker here on ATS, and have never responded to a post before this evening. As I am unsure how to post a link, I will excerpt a portion of the article. Please note that while I do not particularly agree with some of the viewpoints espoused by this particular website (www.presscore.ca), I found this information regarding the implications of tomorrow's planned EAS alert particularly eye-opening and felt that it was important to pass it on...the plot seems to be thickening! Definitely some food for thought...

"United States shuts down on November 9/11. Temporarily or permanently?
Posted by PC World news Monday, November 7th, 2011

On Wednesday November 9/11 at 2:00 PM EST the United States will go silent.  The FCC has been ordered by Barack Hussein Obama to shut down all radio and television broadcasts.  So what?  Not affected.  Can live without radio and TV.  What you don’t realize is that FEMA is in charge of this nation wide operation and the operation call for the FCC to shut down the Internet and cellular phone service too.

Claiming this is a test of the emergency response system, FEMA will conduct a complete communications shut down: all TV, radio, internet, and phone systems will be disabled simultaneously at 2:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.  They are saying it will be shut down for 3 minutes.

Who will be affected by this shut down?  Everyone.  Social Networking, like Facebook and Twitter are completely dependant on the communication network being up, not down.  The same for the Internet.  No store debit transactions can be done during a communication shut down.   Banks security will be severely compromised.  Banks accounts of the people can be wiped or transferred in 3 minutes.  CCTV Security surveillance system will be knocked out too.  A lot can happen in 3 minutes.

Every communication system in the United States will be affected.  Every communication dependent system and business will be affected.  The Air Traffic control system will be affected.  Banks will be affected.  News reporting will be affected.  Even the emergency warning system will be affected.  The nation will come to a halt on November 9/11.

This shut down could actually be a reboot.  Why now?  The United States government might be uploading computer malware or spyware code to the United States’ communication network.   If you’ve ever made a computer upgrade to your computer system by installing a program you would know that in order for the new code to be installed properly a system shut down and reboot is usually required. Once you reboot, whatever was newly installed is activated and just runs silently behind the scenes.

Does it make any sense to you that the United States government would decide to shut down the entire communication network of the United States just to test it?  No country and no sane leader would ever do this as this would severely compromise the security of the nation.  Logically one would test parts of the system separately and definitely not on the same day.

For 3 minutes on November 9/11 the United States will be silenced.  What will happen in those 3 minutes?  Will the United States government use this time to launch another false flag attack  against the United States people?  Will the CIA detonate improvised nuclear devices in a major U.S. city?  Will the Federal Reserve use this time to transfer the wealth of the United States people to themselves or to their European controllers?   It only takes a few minutes to start a nuclear war.  Nuclear Ballistic Missiles, each one carrying 8 or more nuclear warheads, capable of destroying 8 or more individual cities anywhere on earth can reach their targets within 15 to 30 minutes of launch.

On October 27, 2010 the U.S. Air Force lost control of 50 nuclear, inter-continental missiles.  A power failure caused one ninth of the United States’ nuclear arsenal to go off line for three-quarters of an hour.   A Pentagon official said the failure disrupted communications between a control centre and the missiles at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming.  On November 9/11 the United States government will intentionally cause a nationwide disruption of communications."

That's what I heard originally, and I thought it was a little much, but it doesn't say anything about internet and phones on any official websites. Who the heck knows what is going on anymore, there are people out there who sensationalize everything, I wish they wouldn't !?!

Today is the day. Someone record it because I won't be "tuning in" I am a little paranoid these days and would rather be safe than sorry.

I did give my previous comment some thought though, the one about sending out a signal throughout the US that the majority will hear. My daughter will be in school at that time and most likely not exposed to any TV, radio, phones as will the rest of the students and faculty. So it isn't likely that EVERYONE will hear or see it. For a nefarious purpose it would be better to transmit signals during TV time (5pm-9pm) when everyone is home and the TV is on. Then again, that's just my time zone.

I would love to live in a world where the rulers are benevolent and a test is just a test. I don't believe I do, so as I have already said. I'll be tuning out!

Have a great day everyone!

That is the biggest piece of bull cookies article I have read in my life...You have some nerve posting that and it is EXTREMELY duplicitous for the author of the article to label himself as PC World (a reputable publication) in order to garner hits...it may even be against the law of several countries...there is not one thing about the article that is genuine...NOTHING!!!
