I agree punishing your child should be a parent's right but beating a child should not be acceptable. It is highly ineffective and there are other measures you can take to punish a child. When there comes a time when you have to rely on beating your child to get your point across, then it shows you shouldn't even be a parent. I know there's a difference between beating a child and simply spanking the child a couple of times but that usually is never the case.

What it would do though is make the anger I have for this man and others like him repress for a time longer. I did not watch the full thing; I am way too pissed to do that. I saved it in case it is removed though.

There are some things I have difficulty moving past, this is one of them. The rage I feel for this man right now is not healthy at all, nor is it acceptable for my soul to hold such feelings for another. Again I have difficulty moving past things of this sort.

At best right now the only thing I can do is pray for my own soul, love my father and son, and pray for the man and his family in the video. I would though however love to go after him with that very belt he is using. A beating and a spanking are different, I know this as I have had both.

Raist, thank you for posting this, something I do not have the stomach to say for myself, actually. Our stories are quite similar and tragically too common.

The results of this kind of honesty and striving to be different from our abusers has surely gained much for us, however, compared to what might have been.

All is not lost, eh? I attribute the things I like about me directly to resisting not only the abuse, but the natural hatred that seems to go hand-in-hand with it, especially when children must witness and try to rescue each other in the midst of it.

There is punishment and then there is abuse,this is beyond abuse,this guy and his wife need help before they kill this girl out of pure hate because of what ever they think she is doing.

No human has the right to treat another human like this.The threats and the language were pure hate and i can only hope this piece of trash and his wife are jailed and they both get whats comeing when the population finds out what they did to a female child.

Can you imagine how this guy will react when he see's this on the internet!!!!!!

I love how you come in here with an agenda outside of what the video represents. If you're fine about minding your own business about a 16 year old getting beat, then I'm sure you should be fine with minding your own business about people getting bombed.

And please, save me from the whole "this is turning into government controlled parenting". If you don't want government help, then you should give up the right to call 911 incase of an emergency for yourself and your family. If someone comes into your house, and robs you, rapes your wife and kids, we shouldn't care, cause we should mind our own business, just like the government should too.

Judge William Adams who is shown in 2004 on a youtube video of beating what is reported to be his 16 yr old daughter today said he was sorry it happened, and that the video looks worse than what really happened. This is according to neighbors who say that Adams said this as he was loading up a white pick up with several overnight bags and six to 8 rifles cases. He told them he was going off to the San Antonio area.

This appears to be a legitimate FB page for this News station. There are other reports on the FB page that are in no way connected to the above story, along with links within the FB page to personalities from the station, so I doubt it's a setup just to spread this story.

This doesn't have to mean that what neighbors reported has to be accurate but as it's the first note I've seen relating to Adams apparently leaving town I thought it worth posting.

A girl like her would probably feel helpless to go to the authorities without some kind of proof, especially considering her fathers profession. She got her proof and im heppy she did. These kind of parents make me sick. Rule with fear instead of love.

it now has also a brief interview with the accused. he admits it is him in the video.

he also suggests that the reason this has happened is possibly because he has asked for the car back.

this is not expalined but i am guessing this might have something to do with the picture of the new mercedes benz the victim was very proudly showing off on twitter in 2009.

So you think, but you cannot see what they are doing always. Dropbox, limewire, google doc, and tons of other secretive sourcing sites. You read about how it took members of a hidden website to bring it down? Anonymous networks had a child porn ring, and because it was a closed network, nobody knew about it, but anon found t by accident, and burned the website down.

Do not be so sure as to know the digital world. My parents had no idea of the things I've done online, and it took myself teaching me right from wrong to stop. Disciplining will lead you to be more secretive. So you either commit to being present always in their lives, or don't at all. My parents were in between. I know better for my own kids now.

You are not right or wrong to beat your brother for doing those things. It's your choice. I would beat my sibling if they did such a thing that I annoyed. For a time family members in their youth (say, around 10-13) had a bit of an interest in watching sick things online that you might as well call snuff films, and you don't even want to know about the consequences, both in terms of what they are now, and the punishment with it.

Fact is, these things can only be solved one of two ways. You are either a hovering parent and your child has 0 privacy until they leave, or you don;t do anything and let them find out for themselves. Anything else leads to a compromised relationship.

My first thought on this was, "That's a beating?" He could have learned a lesson from my old man. That said, this is today. She's 16. I'm damn near 50 and life was different back then.

Now, the lesson. I hated my father for many years. I'm still not comfortable answering him when he says, "I love you." "You too Dad." Do I mean it? I don't know. He's about to kick it though and hope I can sell it. Maybe even feel it. Corporal punishment is necessary in preschool kids. It set boundaries. After that it is abuse and an attempt at control. It doesn't work. Kids will grow up. How they do is down to the parents.

You can't do what you want to a kid because its yours. You have a responsibility to raise it right and just, not as an infestation for anger and eventual the eventual assault on others that leads from anger.
You seem to think what you do to your kid only effects your kid, well your wrong. What a small picture view of the world. If you raise a hating kid (and I was beaten, and I know what emotions that gives), then your inflicting your own tortured soul on others.

Besides, if you think its ok to do anything to your kid, then lets keep them crack babies with their mommas and kids with black and blue bruises to their pappas, after all, its their right.... according to you.

If I saw anyone treating a child like this, ESPECIALLY a girl, I would beat the living sh*t out of that person (and I'm plenty big enough to) like that dude beat the other guy in the tv show 'The Walking Dead' when he hit his wife... I spose that ok with you too right since the man, according to the church and thus all church weddings, is the leader, and thus, the slave owner.
