My house is on fire, quick, I have a flamethrower in the shed out back, go grab that and we'll just burn the rest down!

Do we really need to add more flames to the fire?

The sheriff is speaking as a person who is comfortable working with and using firearms.
If someone who is more afraid of their gun than the criminal it could be a disaster for them. However if you respect guns and do not fear them you would be safer with one than without.

After re-reading some things I've noticed I was wrong. Im not too petty to admit that. I had always been led to believe (by my previous research and what I've previously been told) gun crime in England were much different to that in the US due to laws etc. Im not saying give everyone a gun, but who knows what the solution is.
