They aren't really strangers. They are your neighbors.

I think you'd be more likely to get poisoned from contaminated factory candy than from your neighbors.

Where did the op say anything about poisoned candy? I will give you a 100$ bill if you can show me. HINT: THIS THREAD IS ABOUT TAKING CANDY FROM STRANGERS!!!!! Not yelling just making it big enough for you to read

My main concern on Halloween is getting my gaff egged by the local youths or, as it seems to be a tradition round my way, getting a firework through your letterbox. Nice huh.

Was reading your reply, and was wondering what a "Gaff" is? I'm not familiar with the term.

Thanks
I tried Google, but the nearest I could find was a reference under garments or fishing. Now youre gonna have me trying to figure out "Mush" too, lol.

I live and learn.

Well, whatever it WAS, it is now a convenient excuse for kids to mow down on some candy, and for me to mow down on 12 beers and girls in skimpy costumes.

Doesnt sound so bad to me!

When i was young, my parents used to check some of the more vulnerable candy, and they would always take away the fruit. Aparently someone in my neighborhood had embedded a razor blade in an apple, and caused some serious backlash.

It might just be a myth, but hell, theres some sick people out there.

But, most people are great, and theres no reason to distrust a mini chocolate bar solicited from a neighbour on Halloween, a night for kids.

I love seeing the community out and about, parents, kids, vandalizing teenagers, cops, old people... its awesome!

I agree..it was a really fun time as a kid for me and fun when my kids were young as well.

I'm not saying halloween is bad.. just simply agreed with the observations the op had...which I don't think were based on fear...but common sense.

Actually the world here isn't crazier at all... (it's the politics that are crazier, not your local neighborhood neighbors)

The world is a lot more paranoid...

It's proven (don't ask me where, it's been a few years now, maybe 2 or 3) that the Kidnapping rate per 100,000 kids was higher in the 1950s (when America was happy go lucky, safe safe safe) than it is today, actually at the moment it's an all time low...

This however doesn't take into account Runaway's and Suicide, it's ONLY Kidnappings.

THEY have convinced us we need to be paranoid about EVERYTHING, so we are...

99.9% of people wish no harm upon you, would never harm you... but they sure make you paranoid about that 0.1%... for any other statistic, 0.1% would be laughable... but not the way the globalists have you all by the balls, keeping you indoors and watching TV, convincing you the world is a dangerous place.

I took my neice trick or treating and she looked adorable as a little green lipped witch. It made alot of people smile, especially the older folk. I don't know where the actual tradition of knocking on doors came from but it seems to be going well. If anyone does know where the knocking on doors thing came from could you post it on here please, thanks. Of course it could all just be a huge money maker for the markets, but still.

A needle in your apple?!!!!! Where the bleep do you live? lol I think you are just trying to push your fear on people. I took my kids trick or treating and we had a GREAT time. We got some drug and needle free candy and I got to hang out with Buzz LightYear and a Clone Trooper for the whole evening. Do you freak out every time you pass an apple? I was just wondering...

I dont like halloween, do not celebrate it and dont want little beggars at my door trying to fleece me.. Piss off ffs!!

Some of the trick or treaters are 15, 16 ffs!

Go away!

Curtains are now drawn, not answering the door, and mommies little begging twunts can just look cute in their costumes elsewhere!

Humbug!

Finest post on this thread.

Well done Sir!

there are not words strong enough to explain how much I despise anti human scare mongering a holes that seek to question the basics of a modern society to make themselves feel important.

If they had half a brain they would realize there children arent safe at all - every time they are around other children they are exposed to disease and bacteria any time they are out of the house they are at risk of traffic or other obstacles.

So the solution must be to sit inside your basement and fear everything until you die when no one will miss you because you never were.

Communities have gone downhill for decades. Why someone would find trying to visit the neighbors in your community for a fun event strange baffles me. We need MORE things like this. Not less. How sad that someone can take a fun event and turn it into a scary "begging" event. What a warped, twisted way to look at it. I don't agree with the premise of this thread at all.

I remember as a kid, going out.. alone.. young, with my brother.. being told "don't be too late." We'd go for a few hours.. until 10 p.m., along with all the other kids. Many people had some pretty cool and unique things to give. Never poisoned, kidnapped, needled or drugged. Stop fear-mongering with this ridiculous "begging for candy" mindset. Ugh.. what an anti-social, hate-thy-neighbor sort of thread.

Wait until Christmas and everyone pays homage to Satan Claus... money is god in the u.s. - it takes a real act of faith to believe that the dollar bill you work for is really worth anything... don't forget, in god we trust.

I'd rather have 2 Halloweens, and no Christmas.

At least Halloween is honest. You give away candy to kids, and you give MORE candy to kids who worked harder on their costume or who look so cute you want to grab them up and hug them.
You give them candy because they love it, and it makes them happy, and they get to pretend, and run around in the dark.

Christmas is all marketing and lies. Jesus who? I don't remember Jesus wearing a big red suit and advertising coke and everything else from new cars to tampons. At least very few people except the extremely christian and the extremely grumpy don't use Halloween as a political puck to knock around with their idiotic agenda sticks.
War on Christmas, War on religious freedom for White Protestants.

Whatever. Let the children dress up and beg for candy.

God knows it's the only time of year when they actually use their imagination anymore!!!
