So let me get this straight. We shouldn't believe pretty much anything in the world is safe or true or not a sinister conspiracy. But we should believe a random dude on the internet making claims without any evidence for them, no sources, no credibility, nothing..? That doesn't make sense.

On a side note, I laughed when you claimed that ANY food I buy is not nutritional and unsafe. Pretty amazing then that I have a sixpack, a clean bill of health, feel fine, and life expectancies are longer than ever. What more could I want? To die at 30 like a caveman? No thanks. Sure lots of food is crap, but it's not some giant conspiracy and there's plenty of nutritional safe stuff out there or none of us would be alive. This allegedly unsafe, non nutritional food I buy sure is a really crappy, slow poison letting people live to 70+ years old!

For me, I am surrounded by people who go with the flow and who do not care to stop watching TV, to put away the pc, buy smart in regards to humanity, leave the gas powered vehicle at home, and so on... they look at me (family and friends) like I am crazy when I mention abandoning the life style they love so much. Within my family and group I find myself alone.

I was raised on a farm and was not involved in society too much because back then my area was still considered "country" and we lived off the land, grew crops and ate our own food. We lived simple and wore hand me downs and looked fantastic. We ate dinner every night at the table with family and talked of life's mysteries over dinner. It was nice compared to now. It has only been 25 years and our society has changed dramatically. What now? I feel as though I am stuck with no where to go and no one on my side who is willing to take the lesser life for a more fulfilling life. Ya know??

Not a lesser life, a simpler life. I am pretty much in the same boat as you. I agree with all you said.

Even my kids and their families pretty much have abandoned me because I am embarrassing, no fun and weird. I don't go to hair dressers and I won't wear 3 inch heals my feet deserve health, I dress simple and never look for name brands...wow my daughter and daughter-inlaw hate that about me! Truly I don't see the difference between my simple unnamed jeans and their name brand expensive ones! Mine last longer!

I love growing things and they feel it is a waste of time since the vegetables are cheep to buy. We are vegetarian also and none of them are.

If they want to watch a movie and I find it full of unpleasant ideas or scenes I go do something else...why this bothers everyone I have no idea, I don't preach at them I simply do not like filling my brain with garbage.

Even back when TV was young it changed people and the ideas they held. On every show and movie the characters came home to their families and immediately went to the alcohol for a drink and every few scenes a cigarette is lit, it started many people to accept this cocktail hour after work and cigarettes offering as a break for any conversation or as a friendly exchange in every situation.

When i say I know there are other ways besides war, I am told that it it had been up to me Hitler would have been ruling the world...on and on I am different and I am an outcast.

Keep the noise down. Some people like their dreaming in the box and don't want to be disturbed. Don't wake the sheep because then their master will appear because of their noise. They don't seem to notice that the grass is almost gone, so there is not much left to eat. Is that a butcher on the way to the box.

When I was studying my business diploma at university I came to the conclusion that governments are intermediaries between the consumers and businesses. In conclusion, businesses run the country and tell governments what to do, while governments try to create some peace between businesses and the consumers when the consumers demand change in the economy.

This is where OWS and other protests alike come into play.

I agree that we all need to wake up. For the past two years I have not subscribed to cable tv. I do not believe what is going on in the world based on what media FEEDS us. Moreover, I do not believe in paying my cable company for watching advertisements for most of the viewing time. When someone asks me "Did you hear about...going on currently in the world news?" I reply with "no, I don't watch tv and the news is bullsh**" Then I ask them, "Did you ever visit ATS.com where you will find the real story?" And they are like "No, what's that?"

Case in point, if you wish to find out what is going on in your life, you have to search for it and not depend on media and propaganda to feed it to you. WAKE UP!

Studying marketing, business, and economics, and majoring in accounting now that I have my business degree, I see it all to well in plain sight. If business is run ethically, it can be of great help to the many consumers and for the country's economy. I believe in buying and using products produced DOMESTICALLY. For me it is of higher quality, and I don't support slave labour and cheap quality.

On the medical side, I thought I used to be depressed and was prescribed medications to "treat" my symptoms. After getting sick of taking those pills, I stopped them cold turkey. Since then I feel great! And I also come to realize that those people who were diagnosed as dyslexic or crazy, were actually really smart and free from societal influences and opinions.

You think you are crazy? No, that is just you being normal to yourself, and not what media and society dictates what you are to be.

The person stopped to get gas at the gas station, and EXACTLY as they showed ONLY a small view of the Gas Nozzle going into the Gas Tank - it said clearly "Protect your Freedom".

Now let me take a guess .......you are an OWS supporter.(which is fine, I couldn't care less.) The thing is I bet you buy products such as clothing made in impoverished counteries, groceries that have no nutritional value, medicine that doesn't cure, etc.

Maybe not, you may raise and kill what you eat, you may sew your own clothing using cotton you grow on your farm, and you may be an herbalist.

I really doubt it though.

oh i dunno. i've purchased books that had good info in them, and that made money for the author, the publisher, the distributor and the retail outlet (and of course, uncle sam, in sales tax). things created for profit, are not evil. the inherently bad thing is when the product was never meant to do what it claims it can do and that point can be argued, so it's up to the buyer to investigate before buying.

I wouldn't know where to start in regards to changing the way society thinks and acts, I doubt it will change for a long, long time.

But personally, I hope to one day be self sustained, build my own house...wooden with straw walls and live off what I produce on the land.

But doing this is not cheap...so between then and now, I'm going to have to go with the flow until I can afford it.

star & flag on this~! Nice to hear from someone on the inside once in awhile; I haven't watch much T.V. over a 30yrs .. due to these points you are making. STNG was prolly the MOST tv series i've ever watched in 30yrs, and yes, that too was massive $$$ generator..

Here's something that i can't connect the dot's on .. where will/is this all going?

To me, a one world gov will more than likely be the answer, or 90% robotics manufacturing, which will decimate the entire manufacturing process, thus stalling the taxation from the slaves, once the 60% of the slaves understand what is afoot.

We're seeing it now with OWS, and in 15 years, manufacturing will be 90% produced by robotics, just look @ the trends in technologies in the last 20 years!

What if scenarios,

What if, 60% of the 10 most populated countries no longer watch TV?

What if, 90% of the products will be produced by robotics; how will humans be able to make a living w/o being re-trained?

What if, 75-90% of the food is grown by corporations?

Why are there 3rd world countries?

Why is their poverty still if we have enough food, man power and resources to counter-act this plight?

we're talking about segments in the job world and situations that can be and are being taken over or can be improved by technologies?

I am sure I'll get slammed for saying it, but your post would have more meaning if it reflected more than a seventh grade education. It is riddled with spelling errors and it mistakes "your" for "you're." I may believe most all you say, but in a general sense I discard arguments from those who display an intellectual laziness that leads to poor grammar and spelling.
